It’s is disappointing that I have to give a BOSE product a one star rating, but unfortunately for the first time, I’ve had a negative experience with Bose. After 3 or 4 months of owning it I started to hear a BANG and Rattle noise coming from the bass of the speaker. I immediately contacted Bose about it and they took my product in for repair. Got it back with a document stating indeed something was wrong & it had been replaced. I get excited and BOOM SAME PROBLEM STILL. It is like they didn’t even test it. I contact them and they offer a new product replacement. I get the new product and STILL THE SAME EXACT ISSUE. Not sure what is going on with Bose but I’m frustrated and disappointed. The latest update is to send the REPLACEMENT IN for repairs… I cannot continue with this game. Please consider this review before purchasing this speaker, so you’re not in the same predicament I am currently in.

The Bose S1 Pro+ is simply amazing I absolutely love this unit! It is so feature rich in its own right but becomes a real powerhouse when you make it part of a larger setup. First off, it is super small and light. I think it’s only like 16lbs. Really easy to handle. Build quality feels solid and I feel like it can take a bit of a beating while gigging. The controls are simple and intuitive, but to really unlock the power of the system you need to pair it with the Bose App on your phone or laptop. It has 3 channels built in and it comes with a wireless mic and a wireless instrument unit. You supply the mic and instrument of your choice. Be advised that it doesn’t provide phantom power, so you need a dynamic mic if you are going to run straight into the unit. You can of course use cables as well. I love that the wireless dongles click right into the power head for storage and charging. They are always ready to go. The fact that this thing can run off its internal battery for 11 hours is incredible. It has a smart charging system so it doesn’t overcharge your battery and shorten its life. OK…on to the sound. WOW! I don’t know what kind of voodoo Bose uses to get that much sound out of a small unit but it’s so very impressive. Clean, crisp and LOUD. You can easily play most smaller gigging venues and even a small outdoor setting with no trouble at all. The three channels work perfectly for a single instrument, single mic, and a Bluetooth portable like a tablet or cell phone. It’s the perfect setup for a solo artist on the go. The fact that you can play a set without a single wire is absolutely incredible. So easy to set up and tear down. The frequency range is impressive. It's worth noting that the bass drops off at about what humans can hear. That means that you get a nice deep bass sound, but you do miss those chest rattling low frequencies. You can run a bass guitar through it, and it will get the job done, but if you want to feel the bass, you'll want to add on a Bose subwoofer. Each channel allows you to set volume, treble, bass, and reverb. It also has built in EQ settings that are optimized for instrument vs vocal. You can do all sorts of things with the app to customize things and achieve the sound you want. For example, not only can you customize all of the setting, but you can save those under the name of the venue. Let's say you play a circuit of local places. Dial in your sound once at each place, save the profile, and the next time you show up, you click a few buttons on your phone and you are ready to play. I will say that I don't love that they chose to make circle button in the app rather than sliders. I get that they are trying to make the app look like what's on the unit, but the circle nobs are too hard to set on a mobile. Sliders would be way better, but it's not a deal breaker. Here’s where you can really geek out if you want to. This unit is so versatile. I was able to run my guitar completely wireless, and then use a Y insert cable to run an effects loop off of my pedal board. I got the full power of my board and could still roam around without a patch cord in my guitar. Same goes for my vocals. Wireless mic with a vocal effect processor looped in via Y cable. All my toys connect easily and give me full control over my sound. Worried that it only has three channels? You don’t really need to be. I have a small 8 channel mixer. I was able to connect several instruments and mic to that mixer, set all of my levels and effects, and then pipe the mixed audio into the Bose unit with a single cable. This solves the lack of phantom power issue as well. It’s simply amazing. Like to record? It has a built in audio interface, so you can hook up a USB cable to your laptop and grab whatever you like for review or post processing later on. I am super impressed by this unit. It can be hooked up to additional Bose units if you want to expand or to Bose subwoofers if you want to rattle some windows. I’ve only had this thing for a short time but I’m already considering buying a 2nd unit just so I can play bigger shows with friends without the need for my mixer. I am so happy to have this thing. It is an instant and significant upgrade to my gigging setup. I love it!

The Bose S1 Pro+, it’s probably the best PA (public address) system that I’ve ever owned. With the traditional quality of Bose products, the super complete connectivity, and its ability to boost the sound with the amplifier, this is an all-in-one sound system for all music needs at home or on a stage. Let’s be clear, the Bose S1 is made to deliver professional sound in a music or artistic venue, so when you are buying it you could feel the pro-quality in the amateur music nights of family karaoke soirees. The first positive surprise after opening the box, it’s its size. Not heavy at all, is the right weight to use in any part of the house or all thanks to its portability. With a particular multi-surface shape, the S1 is designed to be installed in at least four positions to cover all types of angles considering the music or the audience. The system requires an electrical plug and the power cord is included. I observed that Bose is also selling additionally a battery that could be the perfect complement for performances outdoors. After turning the PA on, a world of possibilities opens thanks to the universe of connecting possibilities: 1. You can start by connecting it to your Bluetooth device. The process, as in most devices is as easy as pushing the bottom and letting the devices connect with each other. 2. You could also connect with the usb c cable to your laptop. 3. You could connect XLR connectors to the two available channels. 4. If you own a wireless transmitter just need, after enabling the transmitter functionality, activate it. The mic transmitter goes directly plugged on the bottom of your mic. 5. Other options, that basically cover all types of sound input are a TRS mono line AND an AUX stereo input After all types of tests, music, movies, or singing, and with the independence of the input, the sound quality is amazing. This is true even at high volume, thanks to the capacity of adjusting treble, bass, and reverb independently for each of the inputs. During the few days that I own this PA, I had two karaoke nights. Basically connecting the music to the tablet or the TV (I tried both options) for the son while the lyrics are on the screen. Plus the wireless mic in the wireless transmitter allows the singer the full performance. The karaoke experience is great. The Bose instructions are impressive and complete and open a world of additional possibilities that I will explore in the future. Options of a musician with a mobile device and two transmitters (if you have also an instrument like a keyboard) are represented as regular options. Multi-instruments or the inclusion of a mixer are also represented. Bose is also proposing to download the Bose app to stream music and control some basic functions. Still not seeing a great advance but still plenty of time ahead to explore. If you are in the market to cover your professional PA needs or if you consider that you could have a home of the same professional quality that is available in public settings, this is a great option. Strongly recommended.

I got this to replace a current PA system from a different brand; while good, it’s definitely not BOSE good! BOSE has always meant a premium name with a premium sound and the S1 Pro+ definitely delivers on that legacy. The extra inputs for both mic styles is great. I wish though the wireless receivers were available at the time of writing as it would have been great to really unleash the portability and wire-free nature of this PA system. I didn’t come across any issues during my usage over the past 2+ weeks. As for Bluetooth setup I was using my Android device and tried connecting via the Bose Music App. I never could find my device via the app, but it found it within seconds in the Connection Settings of my phone, so it was relatively easy to setup that way. I am missing out on the features that can be done wirelessly, but a lot of it can still be done via the volume control knobs for each of the channels. My intended use is for karaoke, backyard parties, and outdoor movie nights and for that this is perfect. The portability is definitely helpful. If you are looking for this to replace an amp for a musical instrument, it could definitely be useful as its portability and built-in battery are key. While the sound quality is good, I would see this better serving a small venue where the battery option is a primary need. As stated the audio does live up to the BOSE name, its not perfect. Bass suffers beyond the default setting and quickly sounds like a door being kicked. Again for my purposes, its perfect, but if this is for live music use, I would test in-store or look for a review exclusive for that use. For any other use I can highly recommend. Another use case I recently realized that may be appealing for this PA System is if you find that you like to scream on street corners. I would highly recommend purchasing the wireless mic option…that way you can run up to cars and roll on the ground without getting tangled up in cords. Again if that is your thing. Some technical bits that may be helpful: Battery is of the 5500mAh variety. A little small considering my phone is 5000mAh, however, the claimed run time is 11 hours. I still haven’t had to charge from the initial charge after unboxing so looks like it will live up to the hype. The USB port does allow charging a device at a whopping 7.5watts (5v @1.5amp). In a pinch sure, but definitely not for trying to charge any modern phone. BOSE clearly put in the time to try and make this a very useful and full featured PA System…the USER MANUAL is 78 pages! So they didn’t skimp on telling how to use it to its fullest including a LIVESTREAM option. Hope the review helped and remember to KEEP ON ROCKIN’!

No eco features. Now I am just using it as music purposes

My entire family is musical and enjoys singing together and performing for others. The Bose S1 Pro+ PA is a fantastically flexible audio system for us that works as well for home studio sessions as it does getting out in public. For our home and small venue purposes it’s the perfect blend of performance and portability. One feature is that it’s supposed to automatically tailor the sound to be optimal for its orientation, and I don’t doubt that it does, though my experience is that it almost always sounded best and more full when oriented in tower mode with the handle up rather than on its side. For the OCD inclined, the Bose logo can be easily turned and “locked-in” to match your chosen orientation. The inputs are basic, common, and flexible, with two combination XLR + ¼” inputs, and then a third input that combines both Bluetooth and a 3.5mm port, so technically 4 inputs with 3 individual LED digital volume controls. It’s good to know and confirm that the combo input handles both Bluetooth and 3.5mm at the same time, it’s not limited to one or the other, just keep in mind that they share a volume knob so if you need to blend those particular sources you’ll need to do the fine-tuning on the devices themselves, with the knob on the back of the Bose S1 Pro+ serving as a common master for them. This combined channel is especially useful for background music, karaoke, etc. Being able to run on battery is a nice feature which makes it stand out from other portable sound/PA systems I’ve personally used before which continued to need outlet power. This can be great for performance scenarios at more remote spots that lack easily accessible power, in our case it was perfect for an outdoor get-together with family and friends for music, games, and making announcements that could be easily heard by everyone. When not mobile, the S1 Pro+ system makes for a tidy, room filling, home studio monitor for a keyboard, mic, and computer audio/video workstation setup that I’m happy enough with that it’s become more-or-less my new permanent studio speaker.

Good device but a little expensive …………………………………..

The Bose S1 Pro+ (plus) is a lighter weight, battery powered portable public address and sound system, and updates from their previous model (minus the plus) that is getting a little long in the tooth. This sound system is VERY app heavy, as almost all of the adjustments can be or must be made on the app connected to and controlling the system, rather than with physical controls. With lots of options for connectivity to microphones and other devices, the S1 Pro+ is checking lots of boxes there. Line ins, wireless, bluetooth, XLR and USB C are all accounted for. I love the size and weight of this setup for someone looking to travel with their system, carry it with them on public transit, or have it take up less space. Physical controls where it counts, such as volume on individual sources, and bluetooth pairing, and the rest combined into the app. Bose does a VERY good job with their app development, and I have zero reservations with their handling of this. Personally I may have some anxiety about not being able to adjust the settings if my phone goes dead or becomes disconnected, and that's usually when I appreciate physical controls the most. I've not had a chance to push the battery life to the limit yet, and usually will default to plugging in if I can help it. The sound is typical of what you'd expect from Bose, so I'm not even sure I need to get into that part of it. Their speakers are fantastic, what more can you say? Overall this is very well made, and an excel level up from the previous model of S1 Pro, with new features that justify some of the cost, and delivering solid sound and connectivity that you know and expect from Bose!

We've had a lot of fun with this PA system. We've been trying to connect this to a bunch of different things to see what we like best. We have a little karaoke system and some various other equipment we've tested this out with and it has been working flawlessly. My kids especially love being able to connect to the bluetooth and have dance parties wherever we go. We've had this outside while the weather has been nice and I love that you can lay it certain ways to control where the sound is centered. The bass is nice and the sound has been crisp. It's pretty straight forward for setup and the different dials make it easy to control your sound or various systems you connect to it. This has quite the sound range and can definitely put out some decently loud music if needed. I appreciate that the sound doesn't seem to distort even if you do crank it up. The carry handle seems really solid and makes it fairly easy to carry. It is a tad big heavy but I don't mind that as the entire system feels very solid and like it will stand up to use and a bit of abuse as we do use it around children and outdoors. We will be taking this camping as well this summer for a portable sound system to watch movies on. The battery may not last quite as long if you really have it cranked but so far I've been impressed and don't feel like I'm charging it all the time. I do appreciate that you can use it plugged in as well. This is a great addition for people who want something you can take with you and use with a variety of electronics. This is exactly what I would expect quality wise from Bose.

I bought it and had to return it a week later. The power button got stuck and didn't work anymore.

Made this purchase to get a portable speaker system for music. Overlooked the fact it says its a "PA system". Great for throwing sound, but very tinny and rattly sound.

To begin with I want to mention that I’m not a musician but LOVE music and it resonates with me. What is so great about the Bose SI+ wireless? Well so much but before I talk about that I will speak of the uses for me. It’s mostly used for our Church Choir. The church has some very antiquated speakers and this thing has brought the sound to life! It’s so easy to move from one room to the other and barely ever needs to be charged. Comes with the PA system compact and well made and a cord I find the Bose music app to be very user friendly on my iPhone. I do like the usb C in the back that helps when we do live streaming as well. One small tidbit that might help you is disable the auto shut off as it turns it off after 4 hours. To do that press and hold the channel control for channel 3 <—- that’s for Bluetooth devices until the additional control menu appears then you will see auto off. The sound is incredible! Rich and amazing which has to be expected with Bose. I’ve mentioned battery or charging being also great I know we use it for 5 hours straight sometimes and it isn’t even at 50%. Overall it’s just so perfect and has been a huge blesssing and easy to use for me and us at Church. P.S. coolest feature is you have three buttons in the back and make adjustments to bass tremble and volume without worrying about the app (some of the members of our group over use this feature lol). I very much recommend this awesome product!

The problem with speaker its not easy to turn it ON, but the sound is good

THIS SPEAKER WAS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED IT TO BE, FOR WHAT I PAD FOR IT I COULD HAVE GOTTEN SOMETHING CHEAPER & WOULD HAVE BEEN OK.

I am very impressed with the S1 Pro+ Wireless PA System. The design is excellent the unit weighs about 14 pounds (6.5 kg) and has a great built in handle. The battery and charging transformer are built in and the speaker can be positioned on it bottom on an elevated surface, tilted back (for smaller audience) or as a monitor. There is an option to use with a speaker stand or add speakers or a sub. I found the sound excellent with guitar, voice and Bluetooth in all three positions. The input functions and EQ are excellent with small OLED screens which guide you though adjustments and menus. I found the bass a little exaggerated on Bluetooth streaming and guitar input and this was easily adjusted with the highly visible lighted screens. These screens will also show tone match (microphone versus instrument (these are customizable in the App)) or if input is wireless. The input and feedback system is quick and excellent especially when compared to my 8 year old Yamaha which used many knobs for less options. I amusing mostly for guitar and sometimes as a monitor or speaker. The flexibility of this speaker is amazing you can attached multiple instrument for a small performance or use microphone PA and music easily without plugging in. There are options to charge your phone, connect to a PC for live stream or even charge your wireless transmitter.

Didn't work and apparently no one at Bose support speaks English

There is no one at the delivery address. I called and asked to cancel the purchase so I could reorder with a new address, Best Buy said that they could not cancel the order. So, I asked Best Buy to change the address. They said that they would and did. BUT IT IS STILL GOING TO THE SAME ADDRESS AND NO ONE IS THERE!!!!! I wish I could give them negative stars!

The Bose S1 Pro+ Wireless PA System is pretty cool. It does a lot more than just public address... it also can be used as a stage monitor, an instrument amp cabinet, wireless blue tooth speaker, and even as a USB audio interface to feed to a computer for recording and mixing etc.. Overall the Bose S1 Pro+ Wireless PA System sounds amazing on spoken word. Just hook up your favorite dynamic microphone through the balanced microphone input and set your desired volume level. A fully charged battery is said to last about 11 hours with a charge time of around 4 hours. I've got no reason to doubt them because I've been using my over a week now without needing to recharge it. There is an app that can be used to control some of the more advanced features, and this speaker definitely has some advanced options. For professional audio engineers there are settings for everything, including linking multiple speakers together, using with an external subwoofer, reverb adjustments, the audio interface can also be used as a mixer to blend the microphone with other inputs etc. The PA even has built in smart equalization that changes if it senses it's mounted on a pole, leaned back, or in monitor mode. This speaker sounds heads and shoulders above any horn driven PA system I've ever heard, juast link as many of these together as needed and you're bound to have a great sounding event. This would be great for a portable monitor or amplified cabinet for a street musician as well. It even makes a pretty good blue tooth speaker too, but when playing music with a lot of bass it does get distorted really badly at higher volume levels. It sounds great at lower volume though. I'd like to have a second one of these for stereo sound, and a subwoofer to handle the low bass, and I bet that would be the killer party/karaoke set up!
