This soundbar is wonderful. My only gripe about it is the silly set up process, but it is actually worth it once complete. Some of the best audio out there in my opinion. Unboxing: The device is packaged well in the usual nice Bose packaging. There is a huge universal remote included, batteries, the sound bar, a headset for setup (I’ll explain more later), a HDMI cable, a optical cable, power cable and usual instructions/warranty. Setup: This is mostly simple, I recommend you download the Bose Music app for full control. I put power in, plugged it into the HDMI and got it started. Initial setup is entertaining as part of it includes placing the headset which looks like a tiara on your head. You plug it into the back of the soundbar and with a very long cable sit in five places in your room while it plays tests sounds to calibrate it to your room. My wife and kid laughed as I hopped from place to place wearing the odd device on my head. It was entertaining but will give you the best sound quality for your space in about 10 minutes. You will connect to wifi through the app, connect services such as Spotify, Amazon music / Alexa and Pandora. Then you will set up the remote to use on your TV. Sound quality / build quality: This is clearly a high end device in every way. The build quality appears to be top notch with high quality plastics, metal and glass throughout the device. LED lights provide nice accents for the controls. The sound quality is amazing, there is a good amount of bass for just a sound bar (I also added the sub-woofer which is in a separate review). There is good detail all around. To best test it, I connected some direct audio feeds from my phone and enjoyed all the music I could throw at it. The typical Bose sound is here with a slightly heavy bass but great audio at all frequencies. Details you might have never heard before seem to come out. Movies sound very cinematic with very clean audio. The sound quality is some of the best. Extras: You can pair this device with an additional Bose 700 Bass Module and some Bose surround speakers. Pairing is easy using the app and I never had any interruptions between the devices. The remote is universal and has a lot cool lights but it is almost comically large (pictured). Alexa is built in once you pair Amazon with it in the app. It works pretty well but the microphone is not the best I have seen. It is a useful feature though. Summary: The setup is easy and comical, the soundbar is one of the best ones I have ever heard. The controller is silly but useful and works well. Even with the cons, this soundbar is absolutely amazing.

    Sleek & Wonderful Soundbar

QUICK TAKE The Bose Soundbar 700 offers excellent performance and sound quality. Whether you’re watching an action film, a sitcom, the news, or listening to your favorite music, this soundbar produces clear, high fidelity sound at any volume level. If you are a fan of Bose, you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this product. DESCRIPTION The Soundbar 700 is an attractive soundbar with an advanced array of speakers within it. The build quality and materials are very solid. It offers plentiful connection options including HDMI ARC and optical. It is not distracting while watching TV but is remarkably sophisticated when you notice it. SETUP Like many products these days, the setup Soundbar 700 instructions are sparse. They basically refer you to the Bose Music smartphone app (Android and iOS), and the setup process in the app is a little buggy. I suspect an app update will remedy this soon. Just have a little patience. It all comes together despite a hiccup or two during the setup experience. The speaker connects to wi-fi and then your Amazon account. Then the app will step you through the ADAPTIQ sound calibration process by analyzing a few listening positions in your room. It's actually a pretty impressive process. BOSE MUSIC APP The soundbar audio settings and adjustments are configured using the Bose Music app. Speaker adjustments (e.g., treble, bass, etc.) are simple and intuitive. Speaker settings aren’t quite as intuitive, but you can figure it all out after a few moments. The app can connect to most popular streaming music services for a truly integrated listening and control experience (my Pandora stations appeared right in the app). However, Apple Music is not supported at this time, but you can still connect easily via Bluetooth. The app also manages firmware updates for the soundbar, too. REMOTE The remote control is classy looking and solid device capable of controlling three devices (e.g., TV, cable/satellite tuner, and streaming box). When it's in standby, it a mysterious dark slab. When moved, it comes to life with pleasant backlit keys. Each key provides excellent tactile feel, and it controlled all our devices confidently and reliably. It's surprisingly nice. AMAZON ECHO (aka, Alexa) The Soundbar includes a slick Alexa integration. Connect the service to your Amazon account, and that’s it. If you have an Echo, the light activity on the left front of the speaker will be familiar. Alexa is always available, and she will hear your inquiries and commands even when the TV volume is high. And Alexa's voice sounds wonderful coming from the soundbar. AUDIO PERFORMANCE: VIDEO When watching TV and movies, the Soundbar 700 brings a new level of audio quality. I was previously using a relatively entry-level Bose soundbar (which sounds terrific), and the Soundbar 700 was an immediately noticeable improvement. Watching an action movie, the discreet directional sounds filled the room. Watching dialog-driven movies and TV shows, voices are remarkably clear and natural, and background sounds actually sound like they’re in the background. It’s really nice. For late evening viewing when the kids are asleep, you'll appreciate the audio clarity at lower volume levels. As a bonus, the Bose Music app offers a Dialogue Mode under Settings. This adjusts audio to significantly boost voice tracks. If you or a loved one struggles to discern dialog sometimes, this feature should resolve that problem. It really makes a big difference. The top of the soundbar has a elegant piano-type finish. And it's reflective. So be careful where you place the soundbar in front of your television. If you're at the right angle, you will see the a distracting reflection. For me, moving the soundbar just an inch or so resolved this issue. AUDIO PERFORMANCE: MUSIC I use Pandora and Apple Music. I streamed Pandora though the Bose Music app and Apple Music via Bluetooth. All the music sounded like to was being reproduced by a large, hi-fi stereo system. The full fidelity and clarity make for a wonderful listening experience anywhere in the room. The middle and high frequencies do no compete with each other, and soundbar's built-in bass is warm and present without booming or muddling other frequencies.

    Happy Wife = Happy Life

For years we have searched for an elegant looking sound bar with a wireless sub. It had to look good enough to please my wife and it needed to sound fantastic to please me. Well, it is safe to say that we finally found our dream home theatre system. The Bose 700 duo actually enhances our decor rather than detract from it. The sound is also some of the very best I have ever heard. The Bose Soundbar 700 may not be for everyone though. The following is the good and the bad of our experience with the Bose so far. THE GOOD Very wide and spacious with surround sound. The bass is tight, clean and hard hitting - even without the bass module. The sound bar sounds the same no matter where you sit. We have a large open area where our tv sits but hear everything the same al throughout the space. Pretty Amazing. The Bose Music App several setting options which are useful without being complicated. We can tweak the bass, treble and center channel levels and can turn the bass module on and off. The system automatically adjusts its sound to best fill your space via AdaptIQ. It is a one-time calibration which takes about 5 minutes and makes a noticeable difference. The new universal remote is innovative and practical. It appears to have no physical buttons until you pick it up. Then you see only the buttons you need for any particular source. You just have to try it! I think you will like it. Alexa has never sounded better. She also hears us really well no matter the ambient noise. There is some sort of microphone magic going on here. Very great! Did we mention that this sound bar looks good? We still cannot get over its minimalist and sophisticated design. The glass top, seamless metal grill and the thin profile all come together very nicely. THE “JUST OKAY” Amazon music seams slow. There is about a four second lag between choosing a song (Amazon music via the Bose Music app) and having it actually play. I am almost certain this is just a software bug that will be fixed soon if not already. Some may find the sound just a tad bit sterile. Personally, I prefer a little more warmth. In other words, it probably will not please the person who has spent years building a perfect component system with tube amplifiers, gold connectors and a three thousand dollar DAC. Still, I think most audiophiles will be very pleasantly surprised by the Bose sound. The down side of the new innovative remote is that you cannot see the buttons unless they light up by picking up the remote or pressing a random button. I am getting used to this, but I miss being able to quickly glance at and press a button on my remote while it rests on the arm of the sofa. —— To conclude, for us the good far outweighs the not-so-good of the Bose Soundbar 700. Thank you Bose for making our music sound so great and our family movie nights so dynamic. Both my wife and I could not be happier :)

    Best Soundbar!

Overall Impression: I have been in the market for a while shopping for a nice Soundbar for my living room. With so many options around it gets really confusing. I went to Best Buy closest to my place to tryout a few and see which one I like the best. I was not exactly impressed with some of the Soundbars I tried even though they carried a hefty price tag. I was a little biased towards another brand because I heard it at a friend’s house, but when I tried Bose Soundbar 700 I was very impressed with the sound, looks and build quality. The sound was clear and crisp even if you crank up the volume higher than normal. The size – height and width, of this Soundbar is also perfect under my 65-inch Samsung TV. The Soundbar is securely wrapped in sturdy box which is important because it has a shiny glass top. The moment you take out the Soundbar and unwrap it, you will see a very impressive, shiny, expensive looking product. The overall quality is great and no corners have been cut to give this product an impeccable look. The Soundbar speakers are covered with a black metal grill all around giving the product a nice seamless look. Box contents also include a Power cord, HDMI Cable, Universal Remote with 4 Batteries, AdaptIQ Headset with a very long cord, optical cable, cleaning cloth and instruction/safety booklet. Set Up: Bose has made the Soundbar setup a breeze through its Bose music App. Just download the app and follow the very easy step by step instructions. The app also lets you control the quality of sound from this amazing Soundbar and lets you adjust bass, treble and center channel to your preference. The Soundbar also comes with a Bose universal remote, I did not like the remote as it is too big and bulky compared to my Samsung TV remote. The AdaptIQ calibration is easy, once you are able to limit the external noise and movement of your head (while wearing the AdaptIQ device) as much as possible for perfect calibration. Post-calibration the sound will nicely fill up the area covered during calibration process. Another cool feature is the Soundbar also updates the software automatically, the subtle white light in the upper left corner will flash (left through right) while the update is being performed. Sound : The Soundbar has amazing clear sound. I felt that the AdaptIQ calibration sets soft boundaries for the sound to give you the best possible within those boundaries. The surround effect created by the Soundbar is also immaculate and produces very clear dialogues. Sound and effects reproduction is very crisp, whether it is an explosion in a movie or a baby cooing. Every single sound frequency is reproduced very clearly. I also bought a Bose Bass Module 700 (that I have reviewed separately) for deeper effect and you will never go to a theater to watch the movie again. Hans Zimmer music was a perfect test for this Soundbar and bass module and I can proudly say it was as good as it sounded in the theater. This Soundbar can be perfectly complimented with a pair rear speakers to give it more surreal surround effect. Overall, it is a very impressive Soundbar that will redefine your at-home movie watching experience. It definitely adds the much needed oomph to the TV sound that is missing in almost all the TV’s. Must buy!

Bose has always been known for there superior sound quality. They’ve led the way in home theaters, aftermarket audio systems (speakers, subwoofers) and are used in several higher quality automobiles from Nissan Maxima, GMC Yukon and the all other Yukon’s and Denali's and BMW and so many more. They are hands down the best home entertainment sound you can buy. My dad still has his Bose system that was setup over 35-40 years ago and to this day it sounds unbelievable. During that time he’s had zero problems with them and why he doesn’t upgrade to a newer system. His speakers are so big compared to what I bought 10 years ago which was a Bose home entertainment system. It had the 4 inch cube speakers and subwoofer and it was also amazing but I did play a lot of loud music on n them and eventually I did blow 2-3 of the 4 inch speakers. It lasted about 7 years and was cost the same as what my dad paid for his so I was disappointed in Bose for that but I dust myself off and got right back up and got another recent Bose system which is the Bose 700. This product was fan anomaly better. The sound was hands down the best ever. The even better part was you have the speaker bar, subwoofer which makes packing for a move so much easier and less to carry. Setup is a breeze on the newer units taking maybe 10 minutes. The old units took professionals or an entire Saturday of work to complete if you wanted done right but thankfully with the newer product that’s no longer an issue. You will be using it in 10-20 minutes. The only negative thing is well two. The first is the remote. I didn’t like how it worked with my tv and other components. It just seemed too much and shouldn’t take more than a second to figure it out. It’s not bad but they definitely skimped here as do 90% of all remotes which tells me there’s a market for a cheaper extremely user friendly with voice commands nothing to difficult but elderly folks watch more TV then us all and I catch my folks watching cartoons after kids go to bed all because these remotes are note the easy as a volume button, scroll button, number button, lit buttons to see in the dark and make themself read all other components involving the tv. VOICE COMMAND is a huge. Or just program an app for our phones that would control all tv’s and there components and any support products.

I started using the Bose Soundbar 700 about 3 weeks ago. I also have the Bose - Bass Module 700 connected with the soundbar. My family and I are happy with the sound quality compared to some of the other brands we have tried. It creates an awesome experience while watching TV or simply playing music. The soundbar makes it comparable to the movie theater without the distractions. We enjoy watching movies at the comfort of our own home. Other than using it as a soundbar for our TV, I appreciate that it is Alexa enabled since I have Alexa throughout my house. The universal remote is very helpful and avoids the frustration with using multiple remotes. The set up was very simple, download the Bose app, you do need to create an account, then just follow the steps and its connected! It includes a headset you wear so it can set up the best audio for where you normally sit.

I purchased this to go with along with my mounted Sony 65' A1E. It's set-up in a open floor plan 800 sq. foot condo and the sound really is substantially better than anything I could have imagined with such a space. The setup was fairly easy and the headset you put on to calibrate the speaker system really works well. I get fairly decent surround sound simulation and the bass is pretty deep. Audio is extremely clear. It would have been nice if this had Dolby Atmos but I'm more than happy with the sound as is. It's certainly expensive, but this is one product I don't have any buyers remorse. It's also very sharp looking and have gotten many comments about its looks. Highly recommend!

I’ve used Bose speakers for years and have always been satisfied with their performance. I paired the 700 soundbar with the 700 subwoofer and the sound is fantastic, emersive with clean high ends and rich lows without any distortion. The sound separation is excellent, especially after using the calibration headset. Both the soundbar and the subwoofer look beautiful, with glass tops and high quality materials. I love the Alexa feature as my whole house is voice controlled. Also love the Bose app which allows me to make any sound adjustment I like. I couldn’t be more satisfied with my purchase and with the performance and sound of the speakers and subwoofer. They work perfect together!

First a little bit of history: I purchased a Definitive Technology W Studio Micro and a pair of W7’s 2 years ago with my new Samsung TV. Magnolia really sold me on that particular sound bar setup so I went with it. Fast forward 2 years: Definitive Technology is junk. Absolute junk. The W Studio Micro has been nothing but problematic. It has a known internal sound driver issue, so periodically it would just let out a high pitch squeal that was deafening. In 2 years this happened to me 1/2 dozen times. I would have to download software via usb and reset the speaker every time. Then, the W7’s acting as my rear surrounds would NEVER stay connected to WiFi. Each time they lost connection I would have to redo my surround sound setup. Just terrible. After 2 years of constant headache with Def Tech I gave up and moved on... Fast forward to the present: Wanting to ditch the Def Tech setup I immediately considered 2 options: Sonos and Bose. I’m not gonna lie, the Sonos Beam sounded great, but their mismatched accessories was off-putting to me. Just not as well thought out of a design as Bose. Not as “solhisticated”. Obviously I went with the Bose 700 Sound Bar, 700 Sub, and the pair of rearsurround speakers. You save 100 bucks when you buy the bar and sub together and IMO it’s a must to get all 3 components for complete 5.1 surround. Within 30 minutes I had the entire setup ready to go. The products are packaged well and instructions are simple via the app. Zero issues with installation. For me, I opted to use an existing optical cable I had in lieu of the HDMI Arc (Bose included both cables by the way). After I had all the components setup I did their ADAPTiq optimization which was super easy. You can also tweak the setup via the app (sub, center, rear, treble). In summary, this is a sleek looking product with amazing sound. The included universal remote is ridiculously cool, although it can be a little finicky to setup... The addition of Alexa is a nice bonus too. Do yourself a favor. Splurge for Bose. You get what you pay for. And if you get the sound bar, get the sub and rear speakers too. All in 1800 bucks. Good Luck,

Love the sound we’re getting from this system. My only complaint is that it did not come with any instructions on using the remote control. We still have difficulty switching between tv And Bluetooth from a different device such as Spotify on the phone. We’ve also have to reset the modem several times because the sound fails to come on sometimes. If you’re looking for a simple system, this might not be your cup of tea. But I do have to say, the sound is friggin’ awesome. I can actually “feel” the bass in the sub woofer. If it wasn’t for the lack of literature that came in the box I’d probably have given it 5 stars. I just don’t want to have to “look it up” on the internet or YouTube when I have a problem. For the price, a manual should be provided.

Pros: Great sound and clarity-sound can be heard coming from different angles in the room. Good design with sleek, smooth look and black tempered glass on top. Setup is easy and ADAPTiQ is a cool feature to customize audio to your room Cons: remote to the soundbar is huge and cumbersome- backlighting on the remote could illuminate longer and you cannot see many options if the backlight is off, Bose App not as user-friendly if your TV provider is through a streaming service, expense- the soundbar is expensive and would offer a lot more with the additional subwoofer (which I plan to get eventually, but the soundbar is already so expensive by itself)

I know the price point can be a deterrent, but honestly, it’s worth it. This soundbar is amazing and a total gamechanger in terms of watching movies. The set up was incredibly easy and the dialogue feature makes it much better to watch movies with. Can’t even tell you how many times I would’ve had to turn the volume up on my TV just to hear dialogue in a movie, but then the music and sound effects would be deafening. An excellent addition to my home theater set up.

So I have this soundbar paired with the 700 bass module. Before going into all the good stuffs, some issues I have with this is that the universal remote is not functioning properly with the TV it's connected to (Sony Bravia 55" X900E). Clicking on source button turns the TV off and some other weird issues I'm seeing like auto muting sometimes. I did have initial issue trying to connect it with the TV through the HDMI Arc handshake, maybe there's still some issue there. Apart from these minor issues I have no complains with the sound quality. Increased the bass to 20% on both the soundbar and bass module and you can clearly hear the mid and low basses in the music or in videos. I was in the middle of playing the Doom Eternal game in PS4 when I made the switch and I could hear the low thumping of the shots being fired from the hand cannon which sounded so good coming from this soundbar & bass module. You can just feel the spatial difference. I have not tried out the Amazon Alexa or Google Now functionality yet as well as the Adaptiq functionality, but as far as I understood it gets a sense of where you are and creates that optimal surround sound. I just wish this had the Dolby Atmos functionality that's trending and now that I bought this I hope they do not bring out a new one with Dolby Atmos, lol. Between this and Sonos I went with Bose because it's already a name brand and that I felt the bass is better than Sonos. I haven't got a chance to raise the volume more than 30% yet (it gets real loud by then). Also, a lot of it is software based which you can install on your phone and configure but I feel they could have done better on that as well by, e.g, adding presets, etc. All in all, I'm completely satisfied with the sound quality which matters the most at the end so I'll definitely recommend anyone to go for this to enhance their sound experience.

Finally bought this bar to replace my very loyal Cinemate II. I'll kick this review off with a minor frustrations. Since the user only rely on the light feedback from the bar you don't necessarily get an informative status when bar is updating, connection to the TV, and connection with the Bose App. So you end up hoping for the best when light is doing its thing in the bar. So the setup was a bit strenuous, however, when fully setup, this bar provides you the high quality sound you would expect from Bose. Its super crystal clear... from footsteps, water splashing, wind blowing you hear everything, it is definitely something I didn't get from Cinemate II. User can really turn up the volume without any kind distortions in sound. The Bass from soundbar is OK, but knew I needed to get the module anyway to provide the bass I needed and create the theater-like rumble. The Bar does not provide a full immersive experience, no crazy 3D/enveloping sound. Need to buy the rear speakers to enable that. The Alexa is just a cherry on top, this feature can be activated with ease, thanks to multiple microphone built in the bar. I enabled Spotify with Alexa and can now play any music I want. All in all, the Bose soundbar 700 worked as advertised, don't expect crazy bass or immersive sound just from this bar... there are other products for that.

This is my first time using a Bose soundbar along with Bose bass module 700. I must say this is the best I can have. The quality of sound and the connectivity experience is just wow. Within minutes I was able to wirelessly pair both sound bar and bass module and enjoy the awesome experience using the boss smartphone app. This is a must have in order to manage this beast. The soundbar though lacks connectivity with Apple music and Google music too. But Bluetooth is your friend. It does have alexa built in and works neat.

The sound coming out of this sound bar is phenominal. You have to download the app on your phone to adjust any of the settings on it. It is the same as the last model as it lacking ob turning on with the tv when hooked up with hdmi arc. Still have to turn the soundbar on with Bose remote. If you add the bass module you definitely get some deep bass. Sounds great! Plus this soundbar is probably the thinnest on the market. My LG OLED tv sits low and this soundbar squeezes below it so it doesn’t block any of the picture.

Before purchasing this sound bar we stood in Best Buy listening to it over and over to see if it were worth it. Well, we were blown away (almost literally). The sound is amazing. It makes for a great sound experience. It sounds like a move theater. Me and my wife never really had a “movie day” but because of the tv we just got and the sound bar, we spend hours just watching movies. I think this has officially replaced my need for my trips to a movie theater. You’ll miss out by not purchasing the subwoofer with it. I like loud music and this has definitely fit the bill. It almost sounds like we’re in a night club. However, I had issues programming it. I had to download an app on my phone in order to set it up and for a long time it the app didn’t recognize the speaker. It took consistency to get it working. I actually googled how to get it to work and apparently I had to shut my phone off and back on for the speakers to connect to the app. The remote is huge and heavy and can be programmed to work with your tv and other devices but we don’t use it for that. I’ve read reviews about it being hard to see the buttons on it. That’s factual, especially if using the remote in a darker setting.

I would recommend this to a friend
