I bought this for my 85” Samsung QLED tv. I have to admit, I really was expecting more. A lot more. I have owned countless Bose products and the other Bose products worked well. I thought this would be no different. The price is astronomical for the quality. I won’t be returning it because I don’t want to pay the restocking fee, plus I already bought the mounting brackets and everything is installed while looking very polished and nice. I’m just going to have to buy surround speakers to hopefully amp this up. This was a pretty surprising letdown from Bose

Hi Hailie
It's unexpected that the Soundbar didn't meet your expectations. We have two guides to ensure that will ensure you get the great Bose sound you expect. Make sure you run through the ADAPTiQ calibration during setup in the app, incase you didn't you can run the calibration https://bose.life/3ISO7WY as needed.
Make the sound more your own preference by adjusting the EQ settings of the Soundbar through the Bose Music app https://bose.life/34rt0Mw in the audio settings. -Nic Bose Customer Support

Pros: Very clear crisp mids and highs. More than loud enough for my smallish living room. Easy to control from the app. Pairs perfectly with a Bass Module 700. Adaptiq automatic tuning works pretty good. Glass top makes it easy to keep clean. Thinner than the Sonos Arc.
Cons: Very little bass and midbass without the subwoofer. Output too low without the subwoofer. Really, almost all the complaints about the sound on this thing completely disappear once a subwoofer is added but the subwoofer is very expensive. Does require an HDMI 2.1 cable to output Dolby Atmos, I think this is true for all brands but it's an expensive add-on. MSRP for just the sound bar was too high when it was a new model. Once you add the subwoofer the price is way too high for what it does.

Sleek and Compact with a Premium Feel.

The Bose 900 Soundbar is stylish, compact, and appears to be of very good build quality with its premium feel. A major upgrade for this model Dolby Atmos support and the up-firing speakers to go with the side-firing speakers of previous models. Other features include Bose Truespace, which provided 7-channel sound from content not encoded with Atmos, built-in Amazon Alexa & Google Assistant, Bose Voice4Video which allows you to control the TV with you voice. The Bose 900 also supports music via Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay, Amazon Music, and Spotify.
The set-up took a few minutes, but was easily accomplished once the Bose app is downloaded to your phone. There's a room correction feature, which automatically adjusts the sound profile based on the acoustics of your room. The sound quality is pleasant, with a neutral sound profile. Audio dialog is clear and easy to understand. The side-firing and up-firing speakers give it an very wide soundstage. Volume levels are good, and dialogue is clear. TV and Movies lacks a little bass as you don't get that "punch" in action scenes, but would likely be fine with the optional bass module. Still, the sound is quite full given the compact size of the bar (you can see in one of the included photos it's about 30% more compact than the Samsung Q90, if not more).
Included in the packaging is are manuals, a remote with batteries, and HDMI cable, Optical cable, and the Bose ADAPTiQ headset (used for room calibration).
Unfortunately, I was unable to test the Alexa features as I kept receiving an error trying to install the module to connect the Bose system to Amazon. At the time of this review, the Bose Soundbar 900 has not yet been officially released, so it may be they still need to iron a few things out. The only other nuisance I encountered is that when I turn the TV on, it doesn't turn on the Bose. I have to manually turn it on from the included remote or the Bose app on my phone. It may be that I need to change a setting, but I will have to play with it some -- there's little more to the manual than basically showing you to plug it in then download the app.
Overall I find the Bose 900 to be sleek and compact, with a surprising amount of good quality sound, especially given its size.

Sounds ok but not worth the price tag. I purchased 2 because you can link them together so i use one for front stage and other for rear stage. If your plugged into a tv on 1 the other one that isnt will be 2 seconds behind on all audio. Its definitely a waste of money if i knew this in the beginning i would've taken both back with the 700 bass module.. Now when your using bluetooth such as your phone it works great on all audio just not from the tv. Isnt that what we buy sound bars for? Smh

Hello Robert,
While I understand you'd like to use both for audio from one TV, for rear channel audio. The Soundbars are not designed for use as a rear channel grouped the way you're trying. I'd suggest using the Surround Speakers, or Surround Speakers 700 as they are designed for rear channel audio without the delay. If you'd like advice or help on how to get the best setup, please do contact us https://bose.life/38DNELy for support.

Elegant, Immersive but lacks strong Bass

The Bose 900 is elegant looking with a sleek profile. It looks like a premium soundbar and in most aspects it delivers like one. The Dolby Atmos support and Alexa features work extremely well but the lack of bass, only having a single HDMI port and no DTS support keep this from being a five star soundbar.
Set Up: Setting up the soundbar was quite simple via the Bose Music app. The app walks you through the steps of setting up your wireless connection, adding an Alexa or Google voice assistant and performing a room calibration via the ADAPTiQ tool. Once Alexa was configured I found the Alexa voice recognition and response to be the best I have experienced on any device. Because of this we find ourselves using the voice assistant and commands much more than we have in the past. Note that this soundbar supports both Alexa and Google voice assistants. Setting up the ADAPTiQ requires you to wear a microphone headset that is included with the soundbar. You are prompted to sit in the five most used seats in the room so that the equalizer can optimize the sound quality to the room layout. The soundbar only has one HDMI port which is a short coming. Because of this you have to run your video/audio sources to the TV first and then the TV using either a HDMI or optical cable sends the audio to the soundbar. This is definitely a problem for anyone who is trying to play DTS based DVDs or Blu-Rays. The Bose 900 does not support DTS so when the TV sends the native DTS audio to the soundbar no audio is heard. To fix this problem I had to go into my TV’s audio controls and change the setting from AUTO to PCM output. Some DVDs/Blu-Rays support both Dolby and DTS so you can select the Dolby audio output via the Player’s menu system vs having to change things on the TV. The remote control allows you to set volume and select source input (TV, Music, Blue Tooth) and control media playback from a small rubberized non-back lit controller. While functional it’s not the best because the buttons lack a noticeable feel and they can be difficult to locate especially in the dark. Mounting the soundbar on the wall requires an optional wall bracket system.
User Experience: The frequency response especially across the mids and highs are outstanding. The sound stage is quite large and Bose does a good job of producing virtual surround sound without having rear speakers. The downside is that you cannot turn off the surround sound if you only want to listen to your music in stereo. The Atmos speakers do a decent job of adding to the 3d affect. The only complaint I have with the audio performance is that the bass can at times sound muffled or lacking punch. Without that strong bass hearing a helicopter fly overhead just doesn’t have the impact you would expect from a Dolby Atmos experience. There is an optional Bose subwoofer but it drastically increases the cost of the solution. You can adjust the Bass and Treble levels using the Bose Music app but there are not any preconfigured modes such as Movie or Music. To enhance the Dialogue in movies and pod cast the Music App allows you to control the center speaker volume as well as turn on a Dialogue mode. The soundbar supports wi-fi, blue tooth and Air Play 2 so connecting your favorite music source is not an issue. Using the Alexa voice assistant with this soundbar worked so well that often I could play music or watch TV without having to use a remote or engage my mobile device at all. The soundbar has two light bars on the front. The smaller light shows whether the microphone is muted or not. The larger light bar indicates the wi-fi, blue tooth and voice assistant status. Sadly Bose does not show the volume status instead it just blinks the light when you press the volume up or down button so you have no idea where you are in relation to maximum volume. There is also no indication as to what the audio input is to the soundbar so you cannot distinguish if your soundbar is receiving Atmos or Dolby Digital or just stereo input.

After reading numerous reviews, I decided on the Bose 900, with the 700 subwoofer, and 700 rear speakers. The clarity is amazing, better than most of the soundbar competitors, and the subwoofer is very powerful.
The ability to fine tune the speaker level creates excellent sound separation. I've played dvds with the old Dolby Digital sound format and it's amazing. The sound quality and separation was better than my Yamaha AV 1105s and Denon AVR 887. It is close to my Onkyo NR 757 with separation and depth, but without the skipping and glitching the Onkyo reciever has.
Let me clarify the Bose is close with seperation and depth with Dolby Atmos compared to my Onkyo. But the Bose blows every other sound format out the water. It actually transformed Some of my DVDs and some Blu-ray movies.
Unfortunately with the Bose system, it can only do Dolby formats and excludes DTS formats. This was a big reason I removed a star. I even debated returning the system, but the surround sound really is amazing. I listened to other systems that have all the sound codecs, and Dolby Atmos sounded great, but everything else was okay. Half the other systems lacked equalizers or adjustments to tweek the sound calibrations.
I would also add, music sounds very good. Not great. I set my Onkyo up for 2 Polk signature series tower speakers and a Polk subwoofer, and the Bose can not compare with the rich sound of this type of stereo set up. Again, Bose is good for stereo but not great.
Now for a huge advantage with the Bose set up. My old surround set up had 4 sets of speaker wire to 4 rear speakers. It was replaced with 2 powered speakers and 1 powered subwoofer. I was able to remove all that speaker wire. Even my old subwoofer used speaker wire and a power cord. It really cleaned up the system. Not to mention the Bose front speaker removed my front subwoofer, 2 towers, and center speakers. Basically 4 speakers do what 9 speakers used to. It's pretty amazing.
I think the only sound bar competitive to this would be the Sonos Arc and Bang and Olufsten. I heard Sonos has all the sound codecs and clarity but but not the separation with all Dolby. B and O does what Bose does but with excellent stereo sound. However, B and O lacks DTS formats and cost $2,000 and up to 6k.

The sound is awesome. It looks great with the TV doesn’t take up much room and it’s very very easy to set up. The only reason I did not give it five stars is the remote control is a disappointment. I’m surprised that Bose would allow this to be released with his kind of remote. If you watch TV or listen to music where it’s somewhat dark with limited Light good luck using this remote. It’s very hard to see the buttons.. overall, it’s a great unit and it’s well worth the money.. you will not be disappointed!!!

“I recently purchased the Bose Soundbar, and I must say it has completely transformed my home entertainment experience. The sound quality is absolutely phenomenal. The soundbar delivers crisp and clear audio, whether I’m watching movies, playing games, or streaming music. The dialogue in movies is now crystal clear, and I can hear every subtle detail in the soundtracks.
One of the standout features of this soundbar is its sleek and minimalist design. It seamlessly fits into my living room setup, and the build quality is exceptional. Bose has paid meticulous attention to every aspect of the design, and it shows.
Setting up the soundbar was a breeze, and the included remote control is intuitive and easy to use. I also appreciate the versatility of connectivity options, including HDMI, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi, which allow me to connect various devices and stream content effortlessly.
The Bose Soundbar also supports voice assistants like Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, which is a great convenience. I can control the soundbar and access information with simple voice commands.
The soundstage this soundbar creates is impressive, and it immerses me in the audio experience. Whether it’s the roar of an action movie or the subtleties of a classical symphony, the Bose Soundbar handles it all with finesse.
While it’s a bit on the premium side in terms of pricing, the Bose Soundbar is worth every penny for the audio quality, design, and features it offers. It has truly elevated my home entertainment, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.”

We are trying to simplify our gadgets and this soundbar helps make this goal a reality. It has a sleek look and BIG sound. Movies and regular television are so enjoyable. The voice clarity is amazing. While not quite the movie theater surround sound experience, you do get sounds from various parts of the room when the scene calls for it. We coupled this with the Bose sub-woofer, and we get the richness of the lower ranges. We have a 16x16 family room and there is enough volume from this unit to blow the doors off. Impressive sound, definitely giving us a great experience.

The Bose 900 sound bar is an impressive audio device that delivers a high-quality audio experience for your home entertainment system. With its sleek design and advanced sound technologies, this sound bar is a great addition to any living room or home theater setup.
One of the standout features of the Bose 900 is its immersive sound quality. The sound bar utilizes 8 custom drivers and two PhaseGuide arrays to deliver a wide, spacious soundstage that fills the room with rich, detailed sound. The sound bar also supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, which provide an even more immersive listening experience with their 3D spatial audio capabilities.
In addition to its impressive sound quality, the Bose 900 also offers a variety of useful features and connectivity options. The sound bar supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as Apple AirPlay 2 and Spotify Connect. It also includes an HDMI eARC port, allowing you to connect it to your TV for a seamless audio-video experience.
The Bose Music app provides an intuitive interface for controlling the sound bar and adjusting its settings. You can also use voice commands through Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to control the sound bar hands-free.
While the Bose 900 is a top-of-the-line sound bar, it does come with a higher price tag than some other models on the market. However, if you're looking for a premium audio experience and are willing to invest in a high-quality sound bar, the Bose 900 is definitely worth considering.

I recently bought a Sony Bravia 75" tv and decided to try an updated sound system as well. I currently have a Klipsch RSB-11. It really sounds good in most situations, particularly for music, but it's a 2-channel system and I struggle hearing low voices sometimes in movies. I wanted to get something with a center channel and something designed to handle the newer sound protocols. I tried the Sony HT-A7000 since it's Sony. I had high expectations due to the price and that it's a newer soundbar; I also saw enough positive reviews to make me think it was probably going to be pretty decent. I would say it's a perfect example of price doesn't mean it's going to sound good. I was disappointed with it from the very start and never was able to "dial-in" the sound to be worthy of the cost of the system. I boxed it up the next day and swapped for this Bose smart 900 with the 700 sub. After the initial setup process, I immediately heard the difference in sound. I don't have the surround speakers yet, but you can hear sound coming from all directions, and it's full quality sound. The sub is pretty impressive as well; it really delivers. I saw a lot of reviews about this soundbar disappointed with the remote which was almost a detraction from me wanting to get it. The remote itself is pretty negligible, but there's an app you get for your phone that allows Bluetooth connection to the system and you can adjust everything just fine from there. I'm very pleased with this setup and would definitely recommend giving it a try if you're in the market for a quality, high-end soundbar system

Bought this soundbar in open box condition with good discount. Its quality and built in bass are excellent. The soundbar looks very nice. Its easy to setup with sony tv. In a small room, the soundbar already sounded good. No need to add subwoofer. The downside that i noticed so far is that I couldn’t update the soundbar software yet.
