Amazing sound in such a small speaker! Love the color and how easy it is to use and setup!

Excellent sound for its size. Straps perfectly tight to any belt for mobile music around a factory setting. It gets loud enough to out power the sound of noisy environments. Helps me escape work very well.

I've had a lot of Bluetooth speakers for use while playing golf, but this one tops them all. The rubber strap on the back allows you to secure it to just about anything, and the premium sounds quality is second to none.

I bought this tiny speaker to leave on my bathroom shelf. It's exactly what I was hoping for - fits perfectly-unobtrusive with great sound. I did consider a couple of other options in this category of speaker but ultimately got the Soundlink Micro. Bose hasn't let me down yet.

Great speaker , sounds amazing , I use it to mountain bike and it stays on my bike with the rubber strap ! No matter how hard I ride it stays put .. 10/10

I'm old enough to remember when Bose was new to the mainstream commercial market and a home that had their Wave system was 'high-falutin'. I cut my teeth on Bose products when I finally had money of my own and was stepping into the audiophile world. I quickly moved past Bose into the ethereal realms of speakers and headphones, but always had a soft spot for Bose, even though it seemed like they were consistently getting beat at their own game. Well, I was pleasantly surprised to see and hear Bose come out swinging with the SoundLink Max. TL:DR - It deserves to be on the shortlist for anyone looking for an outstanding portable bluetooth speaker. It's the first portable BT speaker to even come close to acing my audiophile test playlist. Here is what I like about the SoundLink Max: Sound Quality: I kinda feel like this has taken a back seat for a lot of portable BT speakers as of late. Many people prioritize the portability or battery life of a system over pure sound quality. Understandable since if you can't take it with you, or if it doesn't play long enough, the quality really doesn't matter. You don't have to compromise on sound with the SoundLink Max. Even though I stopped chasing the holy grail of audiophile sound (it got WAY too expensive), I do still utilize my test playlist with all my new sound gear, and the Max is the first portable bluetooth speaker I've owned that could even come close to nailing each test. Everything from depth, impact, focus, transients, and resonance were spectacular. Of course it can't get proper separation due to the closeness of the speakers (but a paired set might just do it), but no single point system can do that. The only test that it even tripped over was part of the bass response, and I'm having trouble isolating whether that is an actual issue with the speaker or if it is something else. On some dance/R&B tracks with certain bass segments, there is a 'stutter' in one frequency set. It's weird, and it only pops up in certain songs. It could very well be an artifact from processing or the original production. Other than that, the SoundLink Max has an impressively controlled bass response which has usually been a weak point for BT speakers and Bose in particular. Looks: My wife loves the Blue Dusk color and the SoundLink Max design itself is simple and clean. I don't need disco lights nor do I need it to look like some alien spaceship. I also dig the rope handle, which I guess can be swapped out for a longer shoulder rope strap but that's not for me. Battery Life: Bose says you get 20 hours at moderate volume, but I spent six hours with the audiophile test and just regular music yesterday and a good three hours so far this morning just working in my office and the speaker is still reporting 100%! Now I hope that's not an error with the software but the weight of this speaker makes me think that it has some solid battery capacity built into it. Charge Capability: Unlike a few portable speakers I've utilized lately, the SoundLink Max will charge your phone if you plug it into the USB-C port. Always a nice feature. Durability/IP Rating: The Bose SoundLink Max feels solid and sturdy, plus the rubberized coating all lead you to feel that it can take some abuse and still keep rocking. That, and the fact that you can replace the handle if needed, all give me a good feeling that I'll be using this speaker for years to come. The solid IP67 (and weirdly secondary IP64) rating also mean that this is a great speaker to take out and about, whether it is to the pool, beach, desert, or wherever you may roam. Phone App: Simple and clean. Always appreciate that. What I don't like as much (but none are very big issues): Weight: Despite being a relatively compact speaker, you could probably do some serious damage to someone if you were to swing this at them. Perhaps Bose should consider marketing it as a self-defense item or perhaps a stylish exercise weight. It's nothing egregious, but it has some heft to it. Equalizer: While I appreciate that the app is clean and simple, and that the equalizer is easy to adjust, I would appreciate some better presets, or better yet, the ability to save my own. Hopefully this will come out in a future app update. I am VERY happy with the Soundlink Max and I look forward to years of great sounding music no matter where I may be.

Love the white / gray version of this awesome little speaker. It’s great for hooking to the shoulder straps of a backpack for hiking, biking, or just sitting at the coffee shop and relaxing. The sound is really amazing from something so small and light. I charged it quickly with a portable USB charger. I got it on sale for $99, and used a promotional gift card so it only really cost me $50. I’ll get years of use out of this baby!!

The Bose SoundLink Micro is a very pleasant surprise! Though we obtained it for the family to use, I plan to get another one just for myself. Honestly, it is QUALITY audio from such a diminutive design that it is hard to resist. Here are some thoughts about our experience with Micro so far. First and foremost - the sound! I have a very expensive pair of headphones as my primary means of listening to music. When those headphones are not in use, I also have a very nice set-up of loudspeakers in a couple of rooms in our home. I am picky about sound quality and I know every nuance of some of my favorite albums which I have listened to for years. Believe it or not, the SoundLink Micro actual competes! At much lower volumes, of course, and only when the Micro is placed in close proximity; yet, this little speaker puts out very rich and pleasing high-quality music. The lows, mids and highs are all there and well represented. The sound is as detailed, dynamic and accurate as a little speaker possibly could put out. When compared to other bluetooth speakers we own, I like the Micro somewhat better (more accurate) than our Bose SoundLink Mini II. The bass is also tighter on the Micro when compared to the MIni. The Mini has bass that punches deaper but it tends to drown out the highs. The Micro does not have that problem. I also like the Micro much better than our Bose SoundLink Color II. The Color is not nearly as dynamic though it plays louder. The only bluetooth speaker I like better is our Bose SoundLink Revolve which handedly tops the Micro in every area. That is, every area except for ruggedness and portability. Speaking of portability, that is another aspect that makes the SoundLink Micro stand-out. It fits so perfectly in the hand. There is a nice weight to it that feels right. Also, the silicon outer shell has a quality feel to it. It does not quit feel rubbery in a cheap way. It reminds me more of the fluoroelastomer sports band that came with my wife’s smart watch. It just feels right. The back strap has the same quality feel. The strap secures firmly in place and seems durable enough to last for years. Though the speaker is small enough to fit in my pocket, I probably would rather use the strap to attach the speaker to a bag or belt. My son likes to strap it to his trumpet case when he goes to band practice (see photo). The speaker is both water proof and shock resistant which just adds to its portability. The small size and rugged “take anywhere” aspect of the Micro is what really sets it apart from every other speaker we own. Bose claims that the battery will last up to six hours. Honestly, I have not kept track of how long we use the speaker before needing to charge it. I do know that our experience with Bose with our older speakers is that they tend to under promise and over deliver on their battery claims. I fully expect the Micro would last longer than six hours if played near 60% volume which is where I tend to keep it. As to features, the Bose Micro has plenty. The speaker doubles as a speaker phone with a dedicated button to answer phone calls. The same button also multitasks to pause/play music, skip tracks and summon our devices’ voice assistant. The Bose Connect App is available to download to tweak the speaker’s auto-off settings and to update the firmware when available. Bose says that the App also serves to link the Micro to other Bose bluetooth speakers. I have not tried this feature yet, but certainly will soon. How awesome to have two speakers playing stereo music on the go! The Bose SoundLink Micro is probably not for everyone, but for most will be absolutely fantastic. It certainly sounds nice for its size. Actually, it just sounds great - period. Great job Bose!

The sound is great for such a small device. Battery life is only okay compared to the small Bluetooth speaker that I had previously (purchased via Amazon). I have not yet had to test the waterproof capabilities. Stone Blue color is exactly as pictured. I have added a photo to show how small the speaker is compared to my watch.
