    Astounding Lows For Size

This speaker was the obvious choice for me after I had compared it to the other bluetooth speakers in it's price range like the JBL Charge and the Beats Pill. But what really blew me away was the astounding amount of bass produced from this incredibly small system. This one feature sets this speaker far beyond it's competitors. So how does Bose do it? It comes down to three important factors that you don't get from other systems at this size. The first component that adds such bass is the shear surface area given to the woofers on the dock. The front and back is almost completely covered by woofer inside the grill. The passive radiators really enable the two drivers to dish out all they have and extend the low frequency response. The second feature that seems to add bass is what Bose is notorious for doing and is deceptive but completely genius. At normal listening levels and more quiet listening levels, Bose will automatically eq's the bass higher to give you a more full sound, but then as you turn up the volume the bass levels off to protect the woofers. Bose has been doing this for years in it's speaker systems and it's always set them apart from their competitors in portable audio. The third and final defining feature that helps dish out the bass is something I just recently noticed. The way this thing is built is completely oriented around resonation with whatever surface this monster sits on. It is very dense and heavy but the base of the enclosure is made out of a strange, thick rubber that not only grips onto the surface it sits on, but also passes vibrations from the speakers to the surface very efficiently. But what does this mean for sound quality? It means that the bass can resonate extremely well on whatever surface you place it on. If you set the Soundlink Mini on a solid oak table in the corner of a room, the bass is going to smack you square in the face. This doesn't mean there is significantly less bass when you pick it up off of the given surface, I'm just saying it's another factor that adds to the intensity of full sound that you simply don't get with other speakers in this range or hardly anywhere in docks. Now I've only talked about bass because it is very hard to achieve a full sound with something this size, but trust me, this thing doesn't lack anywhere else. The highs are surprisingly good for Bose's standards but that's simply because the speakers are practically the size of tweeters already. My only gripe in sound quality, is that the mid is lost at a decent distance with this speaker, but a full sounding midrange is literally impossible with the given size of these speakers. The mid bass punch will carry surprisingly far along with the highs. This thing will fill up any room with sound in your average house. The battery life is surprising on the Soundlink Mini; it'll go the distance. Bose didn't mess around with the battery on this bad boy. It's got your standard bluetooth, which can be a little screwy at times but you're going to encounter the same issues with any bluetooth device. I fell in love with this thing whenI listened to my friend’s Soundlink Mini. I got my hands on it for a whole day and played my own music, I was laughing at how incredible it sounded. It continued to surprise me song after song, yet it is so little. You can practically put this thing in a baggy pocket and go anywhere with it. It is absolutely gorgeous in person. Very modern look with the brushed aluminum, which matches the Mac brushed aluminum nicely. I think it’s the best looking speaker on the market for it’s range. If you need something portable don't waste your time looking into other brands, Bose did their research and absolutely crushed the competition here.

I was listening to several bluetooth speakers on display at Best Buy and comparing the sound. The Bose SoundLink Mini caught my attention immediately. The bass output was impressive for such a compact speaker. Battery life is also good and being portable, it's great for traveling.

Very small speaker system that takes up hardly any room. You can take it places with you and play audio anywhere you go. We like to take it up to the cabin with us. It is unexpectedly heavy for its small size but the sound is excellent.

I just got the speaker last night. I paired it with my iPhone 4S with no drama at all. The speaker came with a partial charge, but I was able to plug it in to charge it and listen to it right out of the box. I listened to it for about three hours to wring it out and all of the various music styles sounded great. Crystal clear sounds and awesome base response. Much better that any other speaker in the $200 price range or less. Today I tried to pair it with my laptop. It wouldn't. There was a hitch with needing to update my Bluetooth drivers. I needed to get Dell on the phone - we all know what a pleasure that is - NOT. After two hours they got me straightened out with the updated drivers and VOILA! The speaker paired with my laptop too! It also sound terrific with that source. I tried them at all sound levels and max volume on the iPhone and on the speakers is too loud for our living room. They are plenty loud enough. I narrowed my choice down between the SoundLink Mini and the UE Boom. I was hesitant to go with these speakers as they don't have speaker phone capability and some of the fancy features of some of the alternatives, like iPhone app to control the speakers. I ultimately decided sound quality was most critical. I thought the optional carry case looked a bit mickey mouse for the price. That's my only negative comment. I will probably not use the docking station and left it in the box that is now stored away. If you are like me and want great sound, these little speakers are absolutely worth the price of admission! Buy them - you will not be disappointed!

I did a lot of research on this, older versions, as well as the jambox and alternative options. I admit I have owned previous Bose speakers before, like the portable ipod player as well as the classic wave radio which seems to have been in my family forever. However, at $250, I was not about to plunk my money down blindly. I do research on any purchase like this. I read reviews and decided to go with this, and went and grabbed one at my local Best Buy. (none on the shelf, but a service rep went and grabbed one for me no problem) I was in and out. It comes with a slight charge, enough to let you know it works. Then I charged it up over several hours. It syncs no problem with my iphone/ipad and even my brother's tablet. The sound it delivers is rich and has impressive depth for such a small item. I bought this to be easily portable for trips and even family get togethers. People are really impressed by the volume this little guy delivers. I have had zero issues with battery length, going weeks at a time without charging, while using it 5 or 6 days a week. The only thing i encountered which I was not surprised is the distance at which it loses good connectivity, you'll want to keep this within 15 feet of the item playing the music, past that and it may cut out or get choppy. I live in an old house and its not like the signal travels through walls. However, I just really needed it to be a great sound source in one room. I have it just about permanently synced to my iPad Air at this point. Great sound, great, size, great portability, with no battery life issues at this point. It does what it is designed for, which is play greatly for a large room or medium sized backyard area. I wish it was $50 -$100 cheaper, but at 250, still a quality purchase. I do recommend this to those that want quality. I expect it to last as long as my other Bose products: years.

Bose has always had a great reputation for big sound. Many "audiophiles" are critical of Bose products but the majority of the buying public appreciates what the company has to offer. I am quite pleased with the sound from the Soundlink mini. The lows, mid range and highs all have decent separation and clarity. Whether the volume is low or turned all the way up, there is no distortion of the sound. Battery life is excellent and the small size makes for exceptional portability. I tried 7 different speakers before deciding on the Bose. Great decision- I haven't been disappointed.

Quality sound from a small device, even in large meeting rooms. I've used it is spaces up to 2000 sq. feet and you can hear it crisp and clear from the back. Very easy to connect using Bluetooth. Comes with charging base so if you use it in a stationary spot you never have to worry about it dying. Off the base, it holds a charge for a long time. It remembers previous Bluetooth connections, so once you set it up all you have to do is turn it on the next time and it will immediately connect to your phone/computer, etc. Also makes a very nice gift.

After buying our Bose speaker we were so pleased with the quality that we wanted to protect it and help it last for as long as possible. Since it is easily portable we have used it outside while working or in the garage. Also it is great to movie around from tv to tv for a sports game or movie night. It made perfect sense to buy this protective sleeve to give it an extra look and to help keep it safe from bumps and scratches. Since it not an expensive addition to the speaker we went for it quickly. Fits very snug and looks great.

Amazing sound for the size. I was initially leaning towards the Jambox Mini, but after listening to both in Best Buy, I decided to go with the Soundlink Mini. Even a non-audiophile, like myself, can appreciate the great sound that the Soundlink Mini puts out. My only gripe is that it is a little heavy. I would probably not carry it in my computer bag, but it's definitely a good size to put in a carry-on suitcase. Overall, the sound quality more than makes up for the extra weight. No problem connecting to my Windows Phone and Surface 2. MicroUSB charging capability would have been nice, but the charger is so light and small (the plugs even fold), it's not really an issue. Plus, it charges the device faster than a microUSB charger would be able to. I also bought the orange solid case, which looks great on the device. Overall, a great product.

I love this little speaker. I have always felt confident with Bose and have zero complaints about the many Bose products I've purchased throughout the years. I had initially purchased a different speaker, but then came across this one. It was louder, more compact, and the sound was much clearer. Yes it was a bit pricey, but worth every cent. It travels well, easy to sync, and compatible with many devices. I've connected it to my HD projector and the sound, is theatre quality. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent sound for such a small speaker. One box - but is Stereo. Surprising bass volume which is tight and clear. Very good full range of sound. I use in car so easy portability is a great plus - can put anywhere in car. Will need a cable of your desired length with stereo mini-plug on both ends (Radio Shack; Best Buy; Bose). Also, consider the tight fitting rubber cover for scratch protection.Overall, a great music option for a reasonable price considering I would expect it to last forever.

I'm pretty excited about this little guy. It feels heavier than it looks. very solid build. I love the docking cradle. I typically leave the cradle in the kitchen, I use it for music for kitchen and dining room. The sound is clear and actually quite great, but it is bass heavy. I don't see that there is any equalizer function, so if you don't like exaggerated bass, this might not be for you. The reviews are generally spot on in that it can get loud and fill a room for a party of 10 or so. Bluetooth connection is good. It seems to work best if you generally use 1 bluetooth device. If you have multiple, it seems to have trouble automatically connecting to all your devices (I have 4). i tried to do a firmware update, and this device fails here. The service micro-usb port is recessed, so a standard cable can't really plug in. I'm not sure what the point of this is. I still tried to update the firmware because it seems to almost work connecting it to my computer, but ultimately it failed. I found Bose's firmware and driver support really spotty. It either works or it won't, but there's not a lot of forum or online documentation support that's useful if the default methods fail. Day to day though... I love it. It's small enough that it's not even a thought to bring it along. I probably should get a case for it, but the brushed metal doesn't look like it scratches easy, so i'm ok with that for now. I'm the type of person that buys things and after a few weeks, starts nitpicking and I often get dissatisfied with purchases for one reason or another. I can say that I really do like this Bose after owning it for a couple months, and every time I look at it, I can say it was a satisfying purchase. If you're willing to pay the price for it, I'd wager you'll really love it with very little regrets.

Charges fast lasts ridicoulosy long and has a great range I can have my phone in the house and take the speaker outside and it works Fine! It's great in rooms outside or in open areas it loses a bit of its bass but I can't complain it's still a great product! Can't go wrong sloth Bose!!!

I've owned 2 types of portable bluetooth-enabled speakers (two different brands). Neither one of them had as much bass or clarity as the Bose Soundlink Mini. Perfect for small gatherings at the apartment, I love how this little speaker can fill a room. It just has to be experienced. The setup is just as easy as any BT-enabled device, and the portability is just right. The design is sleek; unibody enclosure with nice readable buttons sitting right on top.
