Review is for Aurora outlet. Item was listed as very good condition, so of course I drove all the way out there only to discover that it was in very bad shape. No apology, just I guess they marked it wrong. Thanks for wasting my time.

Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) knocks the ball out of the park with these superb speakers. B&W is a quality product that gave me an awesome listening experience. I am an audiophile who takes great pleasure from my stereo equipment. These speakers have superb highs, deep lows, clear crisp mid-range sounds and delivered a room full of robust sounds. My speakers were coupled with the B&W 600 Series Anniversary Edition Center Channel Speaker and a Yamaha TSR-700 7.1 Channel Network AV Receiver. For informational purposes, I have a turntable which is 44 years old (a Marantz model 6320) and its coupled with a Shure V15 Type 3 cartridge and stylus.
The manufacturer recommends that the user allow these speakers to stabilize over a weeks period with regards to temperature and 15 hours of usage so that the mechanical parts attain their intended design characteristics. From my initial unpacking, hookup and actual playing of these speakers I was totally blown away. I highly enjoy quality sounding music and I definitely got my monies worth with this set-up. Pure listening pleasure.
The only assembly required is its speakers base, which fastens onto the bottom of the speakers via the 4 supplied screws.
Power handling requirement of these speakers range from 30 to 200 Watts and they come with a 5 year warranty which is a very generous amount of time. My Yamaha TSR-700 power output is 100 RMS and its more than enough power to adequately drive these speakers with plenty to spare.
I listened to a wide variety of music through these speakers and all genres sounded awesome. I have to admit that the B&W Center Channel speaker mentioned above (in paragraph 1) is a must for these floor standing speakers. They complement each other, are an absolutely great match and produce amazing sound.
B&W has a hit on its hand. Great design, superb output and concert hall acoustics is what you get! Truly an outstanding product which I believe that you will love too.

Excellent speakers but expensive. Comparing to the Polk S55, I didn't notice much difference and if you buy them on sale, they are quite less than the B&Ws. If price doesn't matter the B&Ws are definitely a great choice.

Great wood veneer - the sound leave a little to be desired but these look so good it makes it hard for me to be unbiased about the sound They could be better in the highs - with a bit more clarity I would’ve kept these.

I have been a "Speaker snob" for decades. I had Energy Connoisseurs for years that were my go-to towers. I sold them back in 2010 and really missed that full, tower sound. As budget audiophile, I have been impressed with Bowers & Wilkens for years, but they were always more pricey. Bowers & Wilkins released the Anniversary series, and it has many of their premium line technology in a very affordable package.
After two weeks of listening, these speakers really impress me. I have them hooked up to a Sony STR-DH790 and 14g speaker wire. Musically, these speakers have a very wide range. Everything is crisp and clear. Listening to jazz music, you hear the fingers hitting the piano keys and the reverb of bass strings. Just phenomenal sound stage.
Looking for home theater? These work great for that too! I have mine with the Bowers & Wilkin's Anniversary series center, and the sound moves seamlessly between the speakers. The towers have tremendously deep bass, so if you don't have room for a subwoofer, these speakers can really push out thumping explosions.
First movie I demo'd on these speakers was the Star Wars: A New Hope 4k UHD disc. Blaster fire and light saber hums are crystal clear. You can hear all sorts of subtle elements in the sound effects. Even the echo when Luke and Leia are swinging across the Death Star corridors is very detailed and crisp.
Watching Jurassic Park 4K UHD, the audio was captivating. The scene with the escaping T.rex had so many clean audio elements that would sound muddy on a soundbar or book shelf speakers. Every foot stomp was nice and full of bass, without impeding the rainfall or sounds of screaming. Just really, REALLY great sound stage.
My ONLY concern? The magnets used to hold the screen on the speakers is fairly weak compared to other magnetic grills I've used. A slight bump to the speaker and they fall off, so these grills are just for show, I don't think they'd provide any protection to the drivers.
Other than that, I challenge you to find a speaker that comes anywhere near these for the price. You'd have to spend $3k a speaker to find better. B&W, you did a fantastic job. Give yourselves a well deserved pat on the back.

I've never seen a product packaged as thoughtfully as these speakers. You can attach the plinth to the base without fully removing them from the box! I opted against the base spikes because they will go onto a tile floor. Anyhow, the assembly (attach the plinth with four bolts using an included Allen wrench) was dirt simple. The speaker cover is held on with magnets and they aren't overly strong - I've managed to knock the cover off repeatedly adjusting the speaker position.
These 600 series floor standing speakers replaced an aging set of Vandersteen 2Ci's and it's clear that speaker technology has really moved in a good direction in the past 30 years (gulp!). These speakers are smaller yet deliver better bass and clearer highs. The midrange responds quickly and all sorts of musical instruments are reproduced accurately (from chimes to tubas to bagpipes). The soundstage is much wider and I'm able to crank down the subwoofer in my 5.1 setup.
I tested these in both a home theater environment and for reproducing digital music in a variety of genres. Couldn't be happier with them.
They look good and perform flawlessly!

I need to preface this review by saying I am by no means an audiophile. I'm not familiar with the science or the technical jargon so I'm not going to pretend like I'm an expert at sound quality. I categorize myself as an enthusiast. I've invested in a decent receiver, home theater system, cables, etc. And I care about what I listen to enough to know what I like and don't like, and notice when something is lacking.
The speakers were tested in a 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos-enabled speaker home theater setup, although digital music (FLAC) and vinyl LPs were tested using a pure direct setup, eliminating the use of all the speakers and subwoofer except for the 603 S2 anniversary edition floorstanding speakers, since they are my front L/R speakers in my setup.
My equipment used that's relevant to the 603 S2 Anniversary Edition:
Receiver: Marantz SR8012
Speaker wire: Mediabridge 14 gauge speaker wire, terminated with banana plugs on receiver end, bare speaker wire on speaker end, with a length of approximately less than 10 feet.
Left/Right front speakers: Bowers & Wilkin 603 S2 Anniversary Edition floorstanding speakers (bi-wired)
I have used the speakers for at least the recommended 15 active hours for "burn-in" as the manual suggests. Personally though, even after 15 hours, my ears couldn't notice any changes. But again, I'm not an audiophile and apparently not sensitive enough to these subtle changes. What's important to note is that it should now sound the way it was intended to, according to the manual.
The speakers come with a plinth (base) that's around 14.5" x 13", but I didn't bother using them because they made the speakers too wide for my speaker placement, where I have limited space in my living room. However, at 7.5" x 13.5 (13.75" with the grill on), it's slim enough to fit.
The speaker grill is magnetic, making installation and removal an effortless breeze that can be done with one hand. I prefer to keep the grills on since I have a home theater setup and prefer to have less eyecatching distractions in my field of vision. However, if I ever want that industrial look with the cones exposed it's no longer a chore for me to remove the grills to do so.
The design is pretty conservative. Cones and rear port aside, it's a rectangular box with sharp edges and a matte vinyl finish. I tend to prefer this minimalist approach although some may find it boring.
I previously had Pioneer SP-FS52 floorstanding speakers and at the time I thought those speakers were great. Upon replacing them with these 603 S2's I immediately noticed how much clearer the sound was. Dialog was clearer, and sound separation was more apparent.
When I started playing my vinyl LPs and FLAC albums to test how music sounded, it was the wide soundstage that became immediately apparent to me, especially with my FLAC albums. I kept checking my receiver to make sure I didn't have virtual surround or dynamic EQ on and I really didn't. Despite running off just the left and right speakers (no center, no subwoofer, no surround) the soundstage was wide and full. It sounded like I had surround sound on when I didn't.
The bass response is another highlight from these speakers. They're fantastically powerful and engaging without being muddy. It's very clear, particularly in the highs and mids. The bass response is so powerful that I feel like I don't even need my subwoofer. The vibrations are easily felt even in low volume, which may be a problem for some people, including myself since I live in an apartment. I've had to use the included foam bungs to reduce the bass.
Speaking of volume, going back to the clarity of these speakers, I am absolutely amazed at how clear sound emitting from these speakers are even at low volume. The sound doesn't lose its high resolution under low volume. I've never been able to set the volume as low as I do with these speakers and still be able to hear stuff clearly, like dialog from a TV program.
These are easily the best speakers I've ever used in my home theater system setup, and I highly recommend them.
