Customers consistently note that the Treadmill 10 has a wonderful overall performance and a lower noise level than other treadmills. However, some customers have expressed concerns regarding the functionality being limited by a paywall and the large size of the product packaging. Some customers have also mentioned the considerable weight of the treadmill and issues with the belt performance.

The treadmill worked for the first day of install (only used 5 mins for testing purposes) and the next morning it stopped functioning and the screen was black. Cant really use the treadmill without the screen and for the price… kind of expect a lot more reslience from the machine. Moving onto another brand. I added the permanent black screen I got on day 2.

My wife and I purchased this treadmill sometime in November 2022 about 2 weeks ago early January 2023 it started displaying a error message and will not boot and does not work. I'm in the process of trying to contact Bowflex customer service every time I call it says I have reached them outside of their standard business hours it tells me that their business hours are between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday it is 9:00 on Tuesday. I follow the instructions on the error code that appears and it does not help

This is a great treadmill for the money. It is very simple and doesn't have all the bells and whistles a 'gym' type treadmill would have but it works great for my needs.
Assembly: It was very easy to put together - for one person, with an occasional second person to hold a piece in place for a few minutes.
Workouts: the treadmill has 20 different workouts with set times of 20 or 30 minutes plus a manual setting for different speeds and inclines which is all I needed.
Heartrate Monitor: The heartrate monitor work properly on this treadmill.
Noise: The treadmill is very quiet, it does not squeak as I have seen in other reviews and the belt does not catch on the sides as I have seen in other reviews.
Design: It's sturdy, seems to be well bolt. Many reviewers felt the cover on the motor itself is too far back which causes them to kick the plate while running or walking, this will happen if you walk too close to the plate or try to hold on to the treadmill while using it. It is my understanding that you should not hold on to a treadmill while using it, so I am far enough back on the belt that I don't kick the plate.
Connectivity: I have connected my iPad to the console and the sound comes through the speakers (the speakers are good in my opinion).
All in all I give this one 4.5 stars. I will come back and re-review should anything change.

One Year Later

i've had this machine for over a year and it's been nothing but problems. I saw it was on sale and, even for the low, low price of $999, I felt the need to finally say something and save another would be purchaser the headache. First, i want to note that the machine is sturdy and one of the better treadmills i've been on but the technical issues make it not worth the money. a month after i purchased this product, the fan stopped working and the automatic speed increase/decrease and incline/decline buttons stopped working. it took them 2 months to replace that. After that was done, the machine would randomly power down, stop or completely restart in the middle of a workout. i would just restart my workout but after 2 additional months, it was doing this more frequently. I contacted bowflex and they sent another center module since the fan stopped working and random incline/decline and speed up/down buttons stopped working again. I continued to have issues with it stopping, and randomly powering down/restarting. Bowflex sent someone out to replace the wiring and that didn't fix the issue. I spoke with several reps and they said there were issues with the software and they was a patch available but that didn't work either. So right now, i am stuck with a machine (that literally had an issue 1 month after my purchase, so best buy wouldn't refund me or swap it out), and am still waiting for them to get to work properly (over 1 year later). Again, great value, bowflex is pretty responsive, but maybe I got a bad one.

This has got to be one of the best treadmills I have every used at home or the gym. Its easy on my knees and so far it works really well. It would have gotten 5 starts, but its just so big. And I think they could have made it more compact when you fold it up. I don't think they designed it to fold far enough. Thus I took away a star. However if you have the room I highly recommend. It did take a couple hours to put together and its heavy so make sure you have a helper.

We love our new treadmill! It took me between 60-90 minutes to assemble it, but the directions were excellent. The treadmill is SOLID! The belt is quite, the functions worked properly, and the screen is bright. It does what I expected it to do. If I didn’t have a tv in my home gym, I may have opted for the 22” screen to watch the shows on the Journey App. Since I only utilize it for the many workouts provided, the 10” screen is sufficient. Besides, I didn’t think a larger screen was worth an additional $1k. If there is one thing I don’t like, or haven’t gotten use to, it would be the apps. But once I get the program going, the challenges offered by this machine are unlimited. If the apps were easier/more user friendly, I’d give it 5 stars. Quality is SOLID. I’d definitely recommend this buy!

A heavy piece of junk

I bought this machine about three months ago and I already have to make my sixth phone call to the customer service team. Various issues prevented me using it.
Right after assembly, I noticed that the incline control buttons do not work. The speed control buttons change the incline. Contacting the CS team took one hour of wait. They sent me a new console.
When the new console came, I immediately found a piece of SMT chip detached, but the CS team insist on installing it anyway. As expected, the new console did not work properly. Buttons do not work and it kept restarting. Then, I contacted the CS team and they sent me another console, a power board, a base console board, and connection wires.
I spent two more hours replacing these components. Pulling the wires through the machine was frustrating and unplugging the glue protected connection pins is a pain. The buttons work but the machine auto-restarts in the middle of exercise. The sudden stop becomes dangerous when I am running fast.
Quite a few online reviews mention the quality control issues of Bowflex. I totally agree with them. The machine itself should have been great. It's sturdy, beautiful, and supports a large range of incline angles. The CS team members are very nice. But none of these would make up the plethora of hardware issues.
Someone said that the hardware issues are because of the chip shortage and the use of low quality chips. I have to agree. If you want a good treadmill, I cannot recommend Bowflex, at least before they stop using low-quality chips.

Extremely Solid and Well-Built Treadmill

I was looking for a treadmill with more "commercial" like specs and narrowed it down between the Bowflex models and a few others online / other retailers. I was after something with a 22" x 60" belt, at least a 2 ply belt, a 3.5CHP motor, better rollers, and generally solid build quality.
Initially ordered the Bowflex 7 as it is listed with a 22" x 60" belt, and it was even delivered to my house. Then, someone in the Q&A section for that treadmill answered a question I posted and confirmed that it's 20" x 60" and not 22" wide. I had BB exchange the 7 for the 10. As part of this whole fiasco, BB offered the free installation & assembly service. I must say the 2 guys that put the 10 together were absolutely wonderful and did a great job.
Now, onto the 10 itself. I've been able to get a few runs in on it, probably about 20-25 miles thus far. Overall, build quality is extremely good. There's no wobble, shake, weird noises, it's just a very solid unit, which you would expect at this price point. When selecting new speeds, it does ramp up / down quickly and without much fuss. There's plenty of room on the console area for your phone, TV remote, whatever. There is some give to the running deck, but not spongy or too springy. I normally wear running shoes that are considered performance neutral, so a little less padding, and it's fine. Yeah, you're not on concrete, but you're not on the trampoline either. You have the ability to adjust speed / incline / decline in a couple of areas.
Running on it is very smooth and with the bigger belt, you don't have to worry about being too far back or if you stray a little to the left or right and falling off. To me, it's similar to running on the full-blown commercial treadmills at the gym. Strong, powerful and smooth.
Now, it's not all a bed of roses with this thing. I haven't touched upon the screen. It seems if you want a better quality treadmill nowadays, they all come with the ever larger screens and then some type of pay by month fitness app. Well, I really didn't want either one. Have the treadmill set up in front of a TV and just stream as I plug along. There's a bunch of workouts you could do or JRNY workouts you could subscribe to, but I really don't mess with them. Just put it in manual and do my own thing.
The screen is vibrant and responsive to touch for the most part. I just wish I could get this build quality with a basic 7" screen that showed pace, miles, total time and, really, that's about it. I feel these screens probably add anywhere between $300 - $600 to the cost of these things, but that's the price you have to pay for something sturdier it seems like.
A few other nitpicks would be the screen is at a 90* angle and can be a little tough to line your eyes up on. Could use about a 15* slant to back to face the runner's eyes better. The pre-set speeds are a little funky. They go 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 12. Would be nice to have a preset speed for every number going up to 12, but minor gripe and easy workaround. Same thing can be said with the incline / decline pre-sets. The miles run is only in tenths and not hundredths. I knew this going in and can see why people call it out.
You do have to be careful if you're running along and get too far to the front. Your foot will come into contact with the front base of the treadmill. It's raised a bit. I already have a few foot scuffs there in the front. You get used to it though and start to remember to hang back a little.
Really, that's about it for nitpicks. Would probably rate this about a 4.5 out of 5.

Really hard to assemble, but worth the trouble. Very sturdy easily support my 280 pounds. The JRNY software kind of pales in comparison to the tread mill. They should have integrated the controls into the Tread Mill. I have a tough time hearing over the noise. I love the way it stows away and deploys. It took me a while to realize you needed to press -5 incline to stow it away properly, the deployment is as simple as pressing a release handle and lets fall on it's own.

great but useless without the tablet

we bought this product and was so excited to use it, it has all the features we wanted! but the first month was nothing but a headache and stress.product arrived 3 weeks after we ordered. it has magneficient features: incline up to 15, decline up to -5. speed up to 12. there's incline button on front and side handles which i love! it also has a built in fan. its extremely heavy, weighs 323lbs as per website. the treadmill itself is great! but it relies on the tablet. anyways, set up was fairly easy, you can do it yourself. our problem started with the tablet. the tablet is what i consider as "the brain" of the treadmill. it wont work without it. literally. you cant turn it on if the tablet is not working, ergo you have a treadmill that you cant use. unfortunately, the tablet we received had issues. i will make a list so its easier to read:
1. tablet takes forever to load to turn the machine on. and while the tablet is trying to turn on, it restarts on its own several times. sometimes it will take just few minutes to load, but sometimes it restarts so many times that i have to wait 15-20minutes for it to go to the main menu. at times i lose my interest in working out.
2. tablet restarts in the middle of your workout. so while your running, the treadmill suddenly stops! then takes forever to restart again.
3. there is a free jrny subcription for 1 year. being in canada, you have to make sure that you sign up on the jrny canada website. i did the same but it always directs me back to the US website. so cut the stress and call jrny customer service to help you set it up in their canada website. their customer service is wonderful.
- the jrny allows you to have a personalized workout, let you access netflix, prime, disney etc on the tablet. you can use the treadmill without jrny. basically working out on a manual mode
4. the tablet we had needed an update but we were unable to do so because it kept restarting. customer services finally decided to send us a new tablet. ( took another 2-3 weeks)
the tablet does need updates then once updates are done you can start your workout.

I like that this is a wider home treadmill so my arms and hands don't hit the sides while walking or running. The incline to 15 is nice and I do like the buttons to immediately incline to my chosen % as well as speed #s that way I don't have to continuously hit increase/decrease to get to the desired result. You can just hit 8 to immediately get to 8. The fan works good with different settings. The screen is a nice size and has different "trails" or none at all that will show your stats while you exercise. There is also the membership to sign up for to use your apps like Hulu, Netflix, etc. while working out. The cup holders are perfect for my larger water bottles and there is plenty of storage to leave items you frequently use and leave at the machine. I'm very pleased with this product with almost a month of use so far.

Do Not Purchase

Do NOT purchase this treadmill. After only 10 hours of use, it stopped working. BowFlex is saying a new console is needed, and it was only covered for 1-year. (New console alone is $899) Some of the treadmill is still literally in the protective plastic. It has never been moved or folded up since it was installed by Best Buy.
The warranty information posted on the Best Buy website for this treadmill is WRONG. Best Buy shows the warranty as 5-year parts, 2-years labor, and nothing else. That is incorrect. I have spoken to Best Buy about this issue and they keep putting it back on the manufacture, even though the information Best Buy has listed in inaccurate.
Was hoping Best Buy would do the right thing. But after speaking to 4 different people and 2 hours of my time, I got nowhere. In the meantime, the information they have posted is misleading and deceitful, even thought they have been made aware of the issue.

I’ve had it for a few days so far. You must know that it turns off EVERYTIME WIFI disconnects which I find terrible. There should be an update that lets you continue your workout without WiFi or at least until it reconnects. So if you’re running full speed and WiFi reconnects, it just shuts off.
Also, very slow to start a workout everytime. Takes 5-10 minutes to load.
I wouldn’t have bought it had I known.

When It Works, It’s Great

I would have given the treadmill higher rating, except I only had it for one whole week before the issues started. Immediately after setup, and after turning it on for the first time, the speaker on the display has been incredibly staticky. A day or so later, I couldn’t decrease or increase in speed or incline after my session. And most recently, after automatically updating the software, the display will not boot up, which prevents us from using the treadmill.
When it works, it’s great for the most part. But the problems started way too soon for my liking. I didn’t even have it for too weeks before I had to get the manufacturer on the phone, which has been an uphill battle.

Buyer Beware!

|
Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed.

The good: Very sturdy construction. It feels like it will take a beating for a long time.
The bad: Buyer beware!! I've had this for 2 months and it's not been a good experience.
1. Not only is the software clunky and unrefined, you are expected to pay a subscription in order to stream content you are already paying a subscription for. In other words, for you to watch Netflix, you MUST pay the subscription that allows the treadmill's application to stream it and overlay some simple workout stats. Absolute rubbish!
2. You can't just jump on and 'go'. You need to step through even the manual workout menus to get started. Overly complex, in my opinion.
3. The volume of streaming content is low even at the max volume adjustments, while the treadmill's announcements and notifications are deafening. This isn't a speaker issue, it's a software issue.
4. Hardware malfunctions keep on coming! The incline buttons, both the number buttons and the adjustment switch aren't working. The treadmill will incline when a workout program calls for it, but I have lost all ability to adjust the incline manually.
5. The fan won't turn off!! Instead, it does this strange pulsating where it spins to life every other second. The fan will run constant when pressing through the different levels, but it just never turns off!
6. The manual speed adjustments take around 10 seconds to register and the treadmill to adjust! This is a current development as it worked fine up until recently. But now, when I hit 7 to start my run - it takes a LONG time for the software recognize I hit the number and start speeding up.
7. And finally - customer service is terrible. I don't know if it's a language barrier, but every thing I've submitted has been responded with what appears to be a canned response and closed without asking any more details.
I know this is a long review and maybe my experience is the exception. But, I hope it helps someone.
