I'm a huge Bowflex fanboy, but this is the first item I have with their smart tablet. I regret the purchase.
I thought I was buying a treadmill with a tablet attached, but what I got was a tablet with a treadmill attached. That is a considerable distinction.
The treadmill is a five-star, great treadmill, but what lets it down is the tablet.
The tablet has to be running for the treadmill to work; no tablet, no treadmill. And by working, I mean connecting to your Bowflex account on the net.
In New England, it is not uncommon to have a power outage. We have a gas-powered generator for such occasions. Our local Wi-Fi might be working, but we can not connect to the internet because somewhere down the line, it doesn't have power. You can not use the treadmill, because it can not connect to the servers. WHY?
I usually like to work out before I go to work; this gives me a small window before I have to jump in the shower. When I start the treadmill, 7 times out of 10, the tablet is updating, and I can use the treadmill.
I pay the subscription, not worried about this at all, but I get the feeling that this whole tablet business is to force you into buying the subscription.
I will never buy another Bowflex product with a tablet attached.

This treadmill is heavy and big, but with reason. We wanted a stable, sturdy treadmill and thats what we got. Speed, and incline are great. Not too loud. The functionality of the screen is great.

The good: Very sturdy construction. It feels like it will take a beating for a long time.
The bad: Buyer beware!! I've had this for 2 months and it's not been a good experience.
1. Not only is the software clunky and unrefined, you are expected to pay a subscription in order to stream content you are already paying a subscription for. In other words, for you to watch Netflix, you MUST pay the subscription that allows the treadmill's application to stream it and overlay some simple workout stats. Absolute rubbish!
2. You can't just jump on and 'go'. You need to step through even the manual workout menus to get started. Overly complex, in my opinion.
3. The volume of streaming content is low even at the max volume adjustments, while the treadmill's announcements and notifications are deafening. This isn't a speaker issue, it's a software issue.
4. Hardware malfunctions keep on coming! The incline buttons, both the number buttons and the adjustment switch aren't working. The treadmill will incline when a workout program calls for it, but I have lost all ability to adjust the incline manually.
5. The fan won't turn off!! Instead, it does this strange pulsating where it spins to life every other second. The fan will run constant when pressing through the different levels, but it just never turns off!
6. The manual speed adjustments take around 10 seconds to register and the treadmill to adjust! This is a current development as it worked fine up until recently. But now, when I hit 7 to start my run - it takes a LONG time for the software recognize I hit the number and start speeding up.
7. And finally - customer service is terrible. I don't know if it's a language barrier, but every thing I've submitted has been responded with what appears to be a canned response and closed without asking any more details.
I know this is a long review and maybe my experience is the exception. But, I hope it helps someone.

My review was deleted, or went missing?
First, I have had this tredmill for a week, the price has dropped *almost* $300 since purchasing.
Second, my husband and I put this together; it will definitely test you. He had a lot of issues getting screw to thread properly with a lot of hole to thread hole mismatch where he ended up having to hold the piece while I threaded it to screw it in or it would stop/catch before it was tight.
Third, from reading reviews now, I am assuming it keeps intermittently losing WiFi connection while using the machine where it abruptly STOPS you. You jerk forward and it actually is an extremely uncomfortable experience if you are at a full run and the machine just stops! Then restarts again, but not after stopping (obviously). It's like I am constantly worried it will stop, I will trip and fall (I keep the clip on) then it will start up again. If I keep it on and forward, then down, then it starts again, seems dangerous to have a tredmill do this! I can see the screen pausing, but the entire machine? Just from other reviews you'd think this problem would have been fixed by now!
Fourth, I just wanna push the start button, it give me my favorites or suggestioned workouts as an option to choose from and go. I don't want to have to do a fitness test (should be optional), I don't want to have to look for "manual" (which took forever to find at the bottom of the list) then add it to my favorites.
I wanted a "normal" treadmill. My husband wanted all of the other "fancy" options.
Fifth, you HAVE to have a subscription to use the streaming that you already pay monthly for. I don't need a coach or anything else the subscription comes with. However, my husband likes to watch movies while he runs. Now, if it was so I could use features like *Canvas Student* to watch letures or at leasr screen mirroring so I didn't have to put my tablet on it, I would pay for the subscription after the free year is up without complaint! However, I guess this is a good way to sucker people into buying it. We could have gotten one without a screen and set up a TV infront of it in my opinion, but my husband INSISTED on this treadmill and the quality of Boflex products.
Sixth, the heart rate band is like pulling teeth to get it to connect! You turn it on, it detects it, then just says it won't connect no matter how many times you try to connect it. Says it's loading, but stimply doesn't connect, THEN turn it off and on two or three more times to finally gain a connection. Plus, not even the same type as pictured on their website as "included HR band".
Seventh, only connects to apple watch?? I have a Samsung watch, so I end up having two bands on (different wrists). For Zwift users I guess this is good, I tried to figure that out too, but it's a member too!
Eighth, it was easy enough to set up an account, but you HAVE to have an email. So, you cannot set up an account for just an adolescent without an email, my son was excited to use it and it say his name. He can use guest, but it's not the same experience.
Positives, it's a treadmill, with a start button, buttons for acceleration/incline on the main portion, sides rails, and hand grips.

Only a week out of the box, the speed up on the handlebar stopped working. Woman bowflex customer service had me unplug the handlebar so it would be “useable”
(Not sure about most of you reading this… I don’t have an extra $2000 for a “useable” treadmill after having it a week)
The 2nd week I had it, the speed up on the sidebar went nuts. Regardless of what speed you were at, when you hit the speed up, it would go to 4.1
A couple days later the incline up would just go directly to 3.0. After a while… no matter what button you push on the panel, the incline would automatically go to 3.0.
The belt still running after the “Workout Complete” screen was the last thing to go wrong before I returned it to Best Buy.
I always thought that Bowflex was a quality product/brand… I was wrong.

Treadmill is very sturdy, has sufficient settings and inclines. What I don't like is that for the large screen unless you subscribe to their service it is not very useable.

The software is super slow and buggy. After and update, the treadmill went from 2 speed to 7 speed during one of my workouts. You are not allowed to use Netflix without subscribing monthly to their plan. You cannot use the functions without the screen being on. Sometimes it does not record your results, or it just stops working when you're in the middle of a work-out. I got it because it was the only treadmill in my price range in the middle of the pandemic. Look elsewhere for a treadmill.

Great purchase. I’m really happy with this treadmill. It does make a clicking sound as you take your speed to top end. Will have to get tech out to adjust belt but a really great treadmill and worth it to buy the quality one.

This is my second review. I believe the first was not posted though I did not break any of the "review guidelines".
I'll keep it short. My wife and I have spent more time on the phone on Hold with bowflex and their warranty company then we have been able to use the actual treadmill. This is not an exaggeration. This is fact. My advice is buy a non-connected treadmill with less complexity. We have replaced the large plastic console with the buttons, replaced the screen and now have a motor control board waiting to be installed by a tech. When it works it is nice.

First off, assembly is quite the process, and not all of the holes match. Used a drill to fix minor errors, otherwise assembly would not be possible.
Second, once you have the machine ready to go, it requires a subscription and it wants you to sign up for other services. You can’t just hop on and use it. Kind of a bummer for such an expensive treadmill.

We were told that it would fold all the way up, but it doesn't it folds exactly like in the picture, slanted. The screen wires have been making a fuzzy sound. So far we have enjoyed the journey app because it came with a free trial for 1 year. Its not as easy to use if you just want to get on and walk. You have to sign in and go through all of it before you start walking.

Solid treadmill. I like the ability to incline and decline. After a few weeks the left handle seems to have a short. I've taken it apart to make sure I have no bare wires but still doesn't work. Now if you push any button on the left side the panel freezes. You have to manually turn off the unit by the front switch. Plus your stuck at whatever speed the panel froze. Disappointing to say the least.

Shuts off everytime WiFi reconnects - Terrible

I’ve had it for a few days so far. You must know that it turns off EVERYTIME WIFI disconnects which I find terrible. There should be an update that lets you continue your workout without WiFi or at least until it reconnects. So if you’re running full speed and WiFi reconnects, it just shuts off.
Also, very slow to start a workout everytime. Takes 5-10 minutes to load.
I wouldn’t have bought it had I known.

I will be returning this too bestbuy as soon as i have a couple of days of sunshine. Got it home and assembled which was no small feast due to the weight. Ignoring the couple of small dents that were on the aluminum paneling from shipping I decided to give it a try. Turn it on and tinker with the controls a bit and then start the updates and that it’s where everything goes bad. The updates actually bricked this treadmill to where all i can do is see a jrny screen cannot even use it in a manual mode. 3 calls with average wait times of 45 minutes and still just a 300lb waste of space. First tech twos me that they learned before Christmas that this was happening so not sure why the update was still out there for download when I got my device setup on the 28th. He gives me an thing to try which sounded like a hailmary and it did not work. Second tech gives me another thing to try and says it takes up to an hour and that doesn’t work. Tired tech tells me that yea thats a long shot fix also and not I just need to wait for them to release another update that will hopefully fix it. Sorry Bowflex but you’ve lost a customer for life…if you’re going to get into the “smart” industry then have your code developers learn how to implement change management to include extensive testing.

Worst Threadmill ever. I had to have Bowflex send me a second one after fighting with them for a year. From installation, to customer service; this treadmill sucks! It squeaks, it's so ungodly heavy, and the screen sucks on it. You cannot use Netflix or anything unless you pay for journey. your better mounting your own tv. But anyways, the second one I assembled and my god, it's just so heavy. The biggest problem is the board squeezing, the belt skipping... just avoid at all costs.

After about 3.5 hours of frustrating assembly, I was excited to get started and do my initial fitness assessment. Unfortunately, it just doesn't work. The console works; the input to the console works (I can see speed changing or incline changing on the display), but the belt won't move and the incline doesn't respond.
I can't wait to get the run-around from customer service and get sent parts to fix something myself.

Very good treadmill. Have had it over a year and use it at least 5 times a week. Each session is typically 2-3 miles. I am 6'5 and the size of the deck is perfect for people with longer strides. Tablet for the controls is a bit outdated. Requires a subscription for the advanced training programs. I typically use it in manual mode and do not use most of the tablet features. The heart rate monitor works well but sometimes has difficulty connecting the machine. Have adjusted the belt alignment once since purchased. Very happy overall.
