Everyone really started caring about The National with this album, and you can see why. The blueprint for what the band and the rest of the genre would be trying to match for years.

My first National CD I listened to. Great flow to the album. Every song is good. The kind of music that grows on you after repeated listens

The National has quickly become one of my favorite bands. They mix sad and sweet lyrics with innovative rhythms and melodies for a product that is unlike anything available today in popular music. They deserve much more publicity than they've gotten, which will hopefully as more and more people notice their newest release "Boxer". Buy this cd if you are a fan of indie music in the vein of Spoon and Mike Doughty.

    Slow but steady

Boxer is on several best of 2007 lists as it should be. While never actually breaking into a run the pace of each track ambles between a slow to power walk. As the front of the CD implies, it's a methodical slide into some very interesting subjects. Worth the ride, if you don't want to get there too quickly!
