I do like that I do not have to use the suction cup on my window, but it does not always sit well depending on the dash I the vehicle I rent. It did work well in my personal car, but not all cars have the same dash set up.

This houses and protects the unit while in storage and while being used. The only downfall is that it slides on the dashboard from time to time. The salesman advised that this product would not slide and stay stationary. It's better that sitting freely on the dash though
