I’ve been using this phone mount for a few weeks now, and I’m really impressed with how sturdy it is. The grip is strong enough to hold my phone steady, even on bumpy roads, and it doesn’t shake or slip. Installation was super easy it literally took less than a minute.

Great product. Fits tons of phones as it is adjustable. The mounting base sticks to the dash good and has not come off. My phone fits in the grabbers nicely and I can adjust it to my liking.

Shortly after buying, the suction cup broke. In addition the phone locking mechanism didn’t work well. I had to repeatedly close to get my phone locked in.

It couldn't stick on my dashboard it kept coming off.
If I had not putting the box in the trash I would have returned it. I wasted my $21. Sad. It’s also had to fix. The sad part it was my first car and a new one.

I gave this Bracketron TripGrip setup a fair shot because I was trying to avoid that dreaded phone-overheating situation that always seems to come with vent mounts. The idea of keeping the phone off the vent entirely sounded great in theory. The phone still overheats to the point where it stops charging "until it's cooled down". Maybe an Apple thing? I don't know. Even with the 360 rotation, I couldn’t quite angle the phone far enough to avoid it being blasted by heat when the heater’s on. I mean, it's in the vent.
The vent hook included with the base did its job well enough, and there’s no wobble or sag. The one-button release and the adjustable arms are convenient, and I liked being able to rotate the phone around freely. No issues with fit, my phone sits securely in the holder.
At this point, I’m tempted to shelve the vent setup until summer, but for the opposite reason. It’s winter now, so the heater’s the main villain. Maybe when it’s AC season, I’ll try again and pretend cold air is a cooling feature.

A worthwhile upgrade

I had a similar product to this for a few years which comfortably held my Samsung Galaxy S8, but when I upgraded phones this past Christmas I didn't anticipate the need to get a bigger phone holder so I caved in and got this one, and it's been pretty solid all around so far.
I can't comment on the quality of the suction cup sticking to a windshield or anything like that because I don't use it that way, I use the little adhesive pad that sticks to the dashboard instead.
Anyways onto the actual review - it's actually very good for the most part. I wish that they kept the design that my previous one had since it's the same manufacturer. You have to manually pull the arms in to hug your phone but after you do that it fits pretty snug, and has some non-slip grip padding on the edges for even more reliability. Then to release the arms off the phone, you have to reach and press the button on the bottom right side. This is all fine and dandy for the most part, but on a bigger phone like my new one, it's a bit of a hassle because the phone and case together are so wide that it blocks the button forward-ways, so I have to reach from under the whole thing to press it, while holding it up with my other hand so it doesn't fall down. Not a big deal, just a little inconvenient. But the arms go VERY wide and can fit some massive phones, or smaller phones with a thicker case. I have a Samsung Galaxy S23+ now with an Otter Box and the arms have no issue getting around the phone to hold it in place.
The arms that hold the phone in place have ridges or "teeth" that click into place in the rail system which keeps the arms secure and I've yet to have any issues. I've had this thing for about 3 months now and it's still holding strong with no signs of wear, despite daily usage, sometimes 3 or 4 times a day, as well as baking in the hot sun. But I do miss the simplicity of my previous model by comparison - it had the latch button on the back of the phone itself, and it had 2 little prongs that you'd push in to have the arms relax, and just pull the phone right out. Super simple and easy to do 1-handed. Setting the arms in place manually with both hands now isn't THAT big of a deal, but I do miss the streamlined simplicity.
The adhesive pad was easy to set up on my car's old rugged dashboard. Once I let it sit for a while I put the suction cup on it, and it hasn't budged. It wanted to slide around a little bit in the very beginning, but the directions say to let it cure for 24 hours minimum, but 72 hours for a full cure, so I blame that on my own impatience more than the product itself. Very strong base and seems like a very sturdy product overall. The arm swivels fine when I need to adjust it and has a wide range of angles you can keep it at. If you plan to use the adhesive base, install it on a day when you don't need to go anywhere so you can make sure it gets that proper time to set itself in place.
One small issue I have though, is that the holder doesn't go deep enough to accommodate a pop socket. I never had a pop socket but my girlfriend got me one for Christmas so I figured I'd give it a try, but it pushes the phone forward quite a ways because of the shallowness of the seat on the holder. On one hand, it's my own blunder because I've never had a pop socket so I didn't think to account for that when making a decision to purchase a new phone holder. But on the other hand, you would think that, given their immense popularity in the last handful of years, more and more tech peripheral companies would have those in mind when designing the product. It can go either way, but the phone does still fit, even with the pop socket and the quarter-inch Otter Box case, and that's what it's supposed to do.

Had it for about 2 years now and it's holding on to the dash just fine still. It will not start locking to hold a phone sometimes and needs a simple fix of popping the release button out sometimes. Mildly annoying but negligible.

This useful phone holder was easy to install and serves its purpose. It is just a little to big for the new vehicle that I got it for as it sits fairly high on the dash. BUT it is good and sturdy and I have work around.

At first this was the perfect phone holder for my car. Fits perfect and stays in place. BUT, the button to unlock the phone has broken before I even needed my first oil change! I have to pry it out each and every time I put my phone in the holder so I can lick it into place.

I needed to find a phone holder for my car. I don't have a flat dashboard. It's not easy to find a good spot and did not want to block my view at all. I used the vent clip attachment, and I love it. It looks so nice, I'm able to use GPS easily hands free; it makes me happy.
My only concerns are, I wonder how long the plastic vent attachment will last before it breaks? And some times the release button gets stuck.

This is the 3rd mount I've attempted for an iPhone 16 Pro Max. This phone is much heavier than others. No mount I've tried yet will stick to the dashboard. It does work well mounted to the windshield.

This mount is by far the best one I've ever purchased. I love that I can adjust it in different directions, and it was easy to set up. The best part is that it holds my phone securely. I have two phones a work phone and a personal phone, both of different sizes and both fit perfectly. This allows me to easily view my maps while driving whenever necessary.

This phone holder has one major flaw that makes it difficult to use. The suction cup mount is unusable because it can't withstand the weight of my Google pixel 9 pro and tips over. The suction cup doesn't hold when placed on my dash, which led me to use the vent mount. If your vents are horizontal, it's not so bad. Mine are vertical, which causes me to have to adjust the mount often.

Needed something that could hold my phone while driving and this did wonderfully. It’s easy to install and adjust and the little knobs you turn to tighten the joints actually work and hold it the way you arrange it. I haven’t had any part of it sag or shift even when driving over very bumpy road. Have moved it between two vehicles twice and as long as you follow the instructions included in the box, there is no problem with installing it multiple times. Definitely recommend and it is absolutely worth its cost.
