The Braun Series 5 shaver does a great job as a wet shaver. I tried it as a dry shaver, but it left my face feeling razor burned and not that smooth. I tried it as a wet shave with a gel shaving cream and my face felt much smoother and less irritated. However, I think that the initial irritation may have been during the first week of use (every other day) and previous experience tells me that this is an adjustment period for my skin anyway, so I may give the dry shave another try now that my face has transitioned from a razor to an electric shaver. As happy as I am with the wet shave, the trimmer on this model is not that great. It appears too narrow to do anything more than minor sideburn sculpting whereas another trimmer not much wider than the Braun can do better at trimming the back of the neck. Also the trimmer does not appear to be as sharp...feels like I have to press harder than I should to get any trimming done. Other than the trimmer, this is a great shaver.

Very efficient razor which does the job with only one or two passes over the area. Comfortable to hold and has a non-slip surface (I dropped my previous razor into the sink and it broke).

I purchased this razor after using another Japanese brand for several years. I am very impressed by how closely it shaves, the strength of the motor and battery life. An occasional wash under the faucet cleans the heads well. A happy camper

Best shaver good item for the money easy to handle for shaving

Does a good job of shaving. A few contours of my face make it difficult for most razors and this model does a fair job in those areas as well. But for 90% of my face it gives a close shave. Good shave for the price.

The Braun shavers gives a close shave and battery charge last a long time. Cleaning is is a bfeeze.

I have been a shave cream and razor guy my entire life. I saw reviews on this shaver and decided to give it a try. It really works well! I love the fact you can use it either dry or wet with shave cream - that tends to give me the closest shave. It holds a charge well and would be a great investment if you are looking to try out an electric razor.

Shopping for a new razor and had the classic trouble deciding. I live in the cold Chicago, I've owned both Braun and Panasonic in the past and my loyalty leans toward Braun. 1st shave did not disappoint! Pivoting head was fantastic and after 2 passes I felt like it got as close as my Mach 3 without the irritation/burn. Razor is also very solid and I feel like I got the quality I paid for. 12 hours after second shave and I was still impressed. Minor scruff and totally manageable with very little razor burn or irritation. Highly recommended razor Well done Braun, I no longer consider Panasonic competition. Seller "Always Open" delivered as promised packaged well and arrived prompt.

I am beyond satisfied of this electric shaver. I've owned it for about a month and I must say its money well spent! Pricey but worth it!

My husband says it’s the best shaver he’s ever owned...on the first charge, he shaved 7 times and it never lost power. Extremely close shave with no nicks or problems

This is the only brand i buy . It is a good shaver lasts a long time.

The shaver head is comfortable to use and powerful! The battery has a great run time per charge. The beard trimmer is a little on the smaller side, but works well.

I've been a life long Norelco Triple Header fan for the last 30 years. Since their replacement blades have declined in quality over the last couple of years, I decided to try Braun. Even though it's the candy bar design, it shaves closer than my Triple Header ever did. One button disassembly to rinse clean. Totally happy. I've been using it for 2 months.

I bought this because it was on a Flash sale and seemed like a great buy for the money. I have been using it for about a month now and have been very impressed with the performance of this shaver (dry) and how close/smooth of a shave I get. Really happy with purchase so far.

This shaver replaces my previous Braun shaver which lasted 12 yrs. and could not longer hold a charge. This new Series 5 works awesome and I would never use any other brand shaver.
