Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the gameplay, story, music, job system, and voice acting in Bravely Default II, frequently praising the engaging mechanics and immersive experience. However, some customers are negative about the game's difficulty and the amount of repetition required to progress, citing challenging boss fights and the need for extensive grinding. Concerns were also raised regarding occasional performance issues, particularly noticeable frame rate drops. Despite these drawbacks, many players found the overall experience rewarding.

SquareEnix brings an old school JRPG to the Switch

This game is FANTASTIC if you're looking for an old school style JRPG. Especially if you've been missing the old Final Fantasys (BD2 is also from Square Enix!) Three points stand out to me: Job system: This is the game's class system. Any of your four party members can take any of the 22 jobs. That itself would be pretty interesting, but all characters can also equip a subjob. So there are a ton of combinations to set up your party. Even more, once you level up a job and earn passive abilities, you can still slot those in (you can equip 4 passives) even if the subjob is no longer active. Battle System: the eponymous bravley default system is interesting. If you default, you take a defensive stance and earn a "Battle Point". If you "Brave" you can spend a Battle Point to act multiple times in one turn. This makes boss battles a challenge of when to bank points, and when to just completely unleash. It isn't always as strategic during random encounters, but it matters a whole lot during boss battles. Music: well I'm not a music theorist so I'm not sure what else to say other than... it is good. Very good imo. Revo is back and we are thankful This is a great game, but it is important to note that it is an old school style JRPG. There is grinding, it can be tough, but if you're into that I wholly recommend it! The main story will give you at least 50 hours. If you're someone that wants to get the most bang for your buck the post game will add many, many hours to your playthrough.

i played this for a while until the grinding to get the jobs I needed leveled up got a bit much and put it down for a while. When I returned a while later, wow, the last half of the game is smart and challenging. The Bravely/Default (Take extra turns, miss the next few, or don't take a turn and build them up is very interesting) There are so many jobs, and some combinations of jobs work better together than other, and you might be missing a job you need for a boss. Treats are your friends (to level up jobs fast), internet websites with job tips are your friends, it is a rewarding game. When the credits roll at the end of Chapter 5, reload the new save file and keep on going, the story is still going on. This game is a long one, but one that a lot of thought was put into. If you love old turn-based games like the original Final Fantasy games, this is a must play.

A Treat for Bravely Default/Job System Fans Only

Compared to the previous Bravely Default titles, II has more polished gameplay and job system mechanics. It was very fun to play, if not a bit grindy. Biggest complaint is a cast of unmemorable characters and a subpar story. These characters are not as charming as the ones in the original game nor End Layer. If you are in the mood to play a game with a job system or want to keep playing Bravely Default, pick it up. If not, you can move on.

Really high difficulty spikes with regard to boss fights. If you understand that going in, you will have a better time with it. A lot of grinding and fetch quests off the main story arc, but still worth your time if you are a fan of turn-based JRPGs.

This game is amazing. It brings back the old turn-based RPG formula with an upgraded visual palette from its 3DS predecessors. It's very grindy but worth it when it comes time to fight the boss. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed the first one. Wasnt really into End Layer. Really enjoying this one. Theres a TON of grinding that needs to be done. A TON. If youre not into that i'd stay away. Perfect for someone who enjoys rpgs.

This game feels like misses potential. Looks great. The gameplay is good, but the classes are mostly repeats from the last game. Pretty grindy. Not bad, just not anything new, special, or challenging. Would rather replay Bravely Second.

Great, I love the series. This game gives you a good challenge but involves a lot of grinding between some bosses. I wish the remaster the other games though

Great RPG! A bit of a grinding needed to advance through the story. So if that’s not your cup of tea do not buy.

It’s ok, not as fun as the first two installments. Much more grindy even at the easiest level. That’s because there’s more filler between insubstantial plot threads.
