Wow...wow...wow, let me start by saying I am a bit of an audio snob. I crave loud, crisp music with clear highs and deep lows. I needed a portable speaker to listen to at work in a shop type atmosphere so I needed something that could crank, but also something small, with a battery that I could take on the go for board game nights, or the impromptu music party. One of my best friends owns the Harmon Kardon Onyx and I was always impressed with sound, but it was to big for my taste. I first purchased the Sony h.ear.go hi res speaker based on the reviews. It was tiny, packed with features, and offered a decent battery life expectancy. In the real world, it sounded nice at very low volumes, but anything over 75 percent it would distort and 100 percent was maybe twice as loud as my iPad pro but with horribly distorted muddy bass. I watched a bunch of reviews to see what would be a good replacement and settled with the JBL Extreme. It was about quadruple the size of the sony, but was so loud and clear and had pretty awesome bass. The major annoyance though was bluetooth drop out. It was terrible. With almost every track change the music would drop out for a second and a few times drop out so long it would disconnect from my iPad all together. I returned it for another one, but made the snap decision on the Braven 2200m even though there wasn't one on display and very little on the Internet about it. But the box seemed promising, and figured a 300 dollar speaker has to at least sound good. The very first song I played was Dire Straight money for nothing. I played at 100 percent volume which absolutely blew me away! I tried several music genres, Metallica's Nothing Else Matters, T Pain's Up Down, Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Arstrongs Dream a little Dream and several others. No matter what I threw at, I could not get it to distort. Very impressive. It is every bit twice as loud as the jbl extreme, has amazing stereo separation and bass you could literally feel in your body. If you want a good example of how it sounds but your local store doesn't have one on display, go to home theater and check out the Sonos 3 and Sonos 5, I would put it somewhere between the 2 of them. Better bass response than the 3, not quite as much as the 5 but definitely the clarity of the 5. This thing cranks so loud, if you'd didn't see it right away, you would think your listening to a really large higher end shelf system. Packaging was great, build quality is really impressive, but most importantly the sound is astonishing for such a small package!

This speaker is so good! Knew the second i heard it that Braven was not fooling around, and, despite being unfamiliar with Braven, I knew that this was one of the best speakers in its price range and class out there. Clarity is top notch. No sub but bass is still solid and very clean Volume rarely needs to be played at max.. fills the room with crisp clear sound with ease.. if you do need to max it, it remains clear and doesnt distort. A truly portable speaker with the audiophile in mind.. some other 'portable' speakers may come with a sub and might be louder (like the new aiwa or a harmon kardonn onyx).. but those are hardly portable at 15 pounds and being the size of an oldschool boombox, or having a 4-5 hr battery life, where as this weighs only about 6 pounds, and will run a solid 10+ hrs. Definitely considering a 2nd one to make use of the true stereo sound Only drawbacks i would say are that they do not yet have a Braven Smart app for android, and that it does not have a visual representation of volume level, which im sure the app would provide.. as it is i have to always turn my phone down, then turn the speaker up until it beeps indicating max volume.. then count down as i decrease volume so i know what level i am at.. tedious.. but not enough to detract from the 5 stars i give for top notch performance in a truly portable speaker

I purchased this speaker mainly because of its size and good looks. It has far exceeded my expectations. I especially like the ability to mount it on the wall. It connects easily to my apple bluetooth and sounds great.

This portable produces an amazing sound. It's a medium sized speaker that can be transported anywhere. It'll give you loud and clear music to enjoy for hours.

There are a bagazillion different portable BT speakers-- under $10 to over $500. And price is relevant in trying to achieve the best sound -- the best boom for the buck. I have four different Braven speakers (BRV-1, Balance, Lux, 2200m) which I usually purchased on Deal of the Day blowouts from BB. Each time I move up, the older ones get passed down to the kidlets. The first 2200m was impressive enough that I wanted to pair it with another 2200m. The included directions are dead wrong-- but I called the Braven help desk and someone walked me thru the correct method to pair these two speakers in about 1 minute and boom! The sound is spectacular-- and since I bought both on special BB deals-- I spent just over $200 on about $600 of sound. I do not use the BT feature as my LG V20 has a great DAC and I use the mini-pin connection for HiFi sound. I also only play lossless source. The result is staggering. But, for most people's ears, and the lesser quality encoded music they use, these maybe overkill or probably not sound any better than a $29 clearance special.

If you can find it any longer the speaker sounds incredible. Nice remote features (on ios) like power on and off, set alarm, equalizer presets. Long battery life. Looks great. But the real winning quality of this speaker is the sound quality. If you don't have an IOS device you might want to pass, the ability to change equalizer setting is a must for best sound quality. Speaker can also be paired with 2nd speaker. On sale, anything less than $120.00 makes this speaker a steal.

I purchased this speaker on sale for $150.00 and I think I got a pretty decent loud portable speaker that will suit my purpose for outdoor party's as long as it doesn't get wet. There are better sounding speakers out there but at this price point,it's a good choice,and battery life of ten hours is also pretty good....but I would not pay anymore than the 150 I paid for this unit.

I've had other brands, but finally I have one that sounds great and is loud enough that the kids even asked me to turn it down. It also allows a second one to be paired, which would be great for outdoor parties.

This speaker is incredible. It can be cranked up and never distorts yet sounds great at a low volume as well. It is very easy to set up and use. It can even charge your phone!

I had the previous version if this speaker and because of the great crisp quality sound I bought another. One for home and one for the office. My son uses the original one all the time. Would take it to the beach, camping, or just outside during bbq's. Once it's fully charged, it holds the charge for days!

The sound is awesome on this speaker. I listened to most of the others at the store and I thought this one had the best overall sound. It also sounds like the loudest one! It was a little hard to setup the bluetooth but I am not super savy on that kind of stuff. The app also confuses me a bit but I can work with it a little more and figure it out. Im not sure if there is a better portable speaker?

This speaker has great sound for it's size and price. One of the best items I've bought all year.

I absolutely love my new speaker system! I love that it's portable, and it has an awesome sound! I have waisted so much money on speakers in the past that were supposed to have a great sound, and you could barely hear anything! This system is just awesome! So worth it's price! :)

Speaker sounds awesome. Zero distortion at 100% volume while sampling various types of music. Downfall was the software. Couldn't find it on Google play for Android. It's on Apple but not formatted for iPad. So no access to equalizer and other features only available on software app. All in all, if you want a great sounding Bluetooth speaker and are content with its default settings, this is a great one. Want a little more? Move along.

This was a replacement for another brand I purchase that was smaller and did not produce the desired bass and loud sound. I would buy this product especially if it is on clearance as I did at Christmas.

Better sound than more commonly known manufacturers. Deep bass, crisp sound. Bought 2 so I could pair them. Very happy consumer.
