I wanted to like this-- I really did. I am a big fan of the first three Meat Loaf albums as well as Jim Steinman. Years ago I tracked down his solo album "Bad For Good," and recently tracked it down again to put on my iTunes because I like it so much. I have listened to the new one several times now, admittedly mostly in the background while working, but it strikes me as over-wrought, bombastic and formulaic, and not overly enjoyable.

Another Operatic venture by the Meat Master. A litttle hard to follow and engineering seems weak. Need Blu-Ray version.

I love Meatloaf, but this isn't his best. I will give it some more time to see if it grows on me.

He has one classic album and this didn't do anything to increase that total.

sorry but I love meatloaf, just not this album... not sure if current health issues made him change his style or if he just decided a different way but there wasn't the enrgy I've become accustom to with his music.... definitely not Bat out of h3ll (1 or 2) quality

Being a Meatloaf afn I was excited to find this album. I MADE myself listen to the whole thing one time, from start to finish. By the end I considered tossing the cd. I was sorely disappointed. Pass on this one.

I did not hear the powerful voice that used to bowl me over. I guess age has caught up with Meatloaf.

Just like Andrew Lloyd Weber and Elton John would be nothing without their writers, so it is for Meat Loaf. Jim Steinman is the heart and soul, and it's wonderful to have him back in all of his ethereal glory!
