The Breville Barista Express is an absolute disaster. The built-in grinder, which should be the heart of any espresso machine, is so poorly made it's laughable. It's not a question of if it will fail, but when. In my case, it failed repeatedly, even after two separate repairs. This isn't just inconvenient; it's unacceptable for a machine that's supposed to be "barista-grade."
What's worse is Breville's non-existent customer service. They seem to think it's okay to sell a faulty product and then ignore customers when it inevitably breaks down - which has happened multiple times but the companies 'customer service' refuses to do anything!! In order to get service they require you first clean the machine (which requires fully disassembling it, vacuuming every nook/cranny, and running a LOT of coffee beans through the grinder for testing) before they'll set up "service" (which today, the agent told me all they'll do is clean it - they wont replace parts!) Keep in mind this issue started within the first year I owned it! I've been left with a useless, expensive hunk of metal on my countertop, and Breville couldn't care less!!
In short, the Barista Express is a complete waste of money! You might be thinking to yourself "oh its the holidays Its on sale" but dont waste your money!! Instead, save up for a couple of years and buy an actual Barista Grade machine from another company. This one is a poorly designed product from a company that doesn't stand behind it. Save yourself the headache and avoid Breville altogether!!

I utilize this machine everyday!
First thing everyone notices is when I prepare coffee is how smooth the coffee is. I enjoy it!

Makes great lattes, hard to keep cleen but its worth it.

I have used this product for over a month now. It takes a long time to stream milk. Almost 2 minutes. The shot pour isnt accurate some days it 2 shots other its 1 shot well using the double shot setting. It does make a good flavorful espresso ( with a good bean)
It is true that espresso is a matter of constantly making adjustments to get a good shot. But thank you for your review and your feedback. We do value customers' input. Looks cool sitting on the counter, but does NOT work. If you want to waste a lot of perfectly good coffee, time, and money.... buy this machine. Absolutely impossible to regulate/achieve the pressure needed to create an espresso. After weeks of trial and error, reading every available tutorial, and watching hours of YouTube videos... we still have not been able to get this machine to work properly. It will not produce enough pressure to extract espresso, so you'll waste hours and lots of expensive coffee beans creating bitter espresso that cannot be consumed. Maybe we got a bad machine, but so far it's been nothing but a source of frustration.
