When I bought this film I had only seen one trailer for it, and had read one review. I believe the reviewer said that it is a horror movie disguised as a western drama... he was 100% correct. This is one of those slow-burning, get under your skin, I need to see what happens next kind of films. The material is dark and heavy through majority of the film, but it is worth the watch none-the-less. Just be prepared for Guy Pearce's preacher to creep you out.

I read one review on this film before purchasing it that called it a "horror" film, and I would have to agree with it. Although this film says it's a "thriller/western/drama" it could also very-well be called a horror film. This is an extremely well-made film with great acting by Guy Pearce and Dakota Fanning, but beware, the subject matter is very disturbing. Solid film, very happy with my purchase.

Very intense and sometimes brutally violent scenes. Acting was very good but the movie was actually very long. Guy Pierce played his role so well you could not stop yourself from hating his character. Very very mature subject line, violence and bloody scenes.

This film took you through a rollercoaster of emotions. There were highs and a lot of lows. The overall plot of the film was quite sickening. I'm kind of disappointed in the ending, but at least we know that evil never wins.

I'm a lifelong fan of westerns and this one didn't disappoint, although it didn't quite match the summary on the back cover. The non linear story line was a little confusing.

The performances in this movie are top notch particularly from Guy Pearce. A disturbing and powerful movie told in the "Memento" style.

Like it alot get production, act and actors were great. Not a customed to seeing these guess act in western movies but enjoyed it.

watch this movie with my wife and she did not care for the story line but I found it to be a good with a how to never give up.

I love the way the movies goes back and forth in time frames. This is one of the best movies I had ever seen. Dakota Fanning and Guy pierce should have won best actress/actor awards. You will absolutely hate his character which is what you want to feel when playing a character such as his. Can’t say enough! Won’t regret it. You will watch over and over!

This movie is not bad, pretty decent western. It may not have the big names but it was entertaining.

It’s a different kind of western movie. A movie that is both suspense and mystery drama.

Really a different approach to a movie theme. Keeps you in suspense through out the movie.
