I heard about Broken Roads from a friend of mine who went to go see it when it was released in theaters. I'm such a sucker for coming of age stories that when she told me what this movie was about I was like okay let me check out the trailer first to see if it's worth buying. AND it was! I absolutely love this movie. I was a little hesitant as to how it was going to look since it's an independent movie (you never know what you'll get in this genre) but wow it sure doesn't look like an independent movie. The performances were just incredible. Sally Kirkland definitely shined through. I can see why my parents love her. And new comer Aidan Bristow (who came out of nowhere) held his own as well. I definitely recommend this movie. So worth the price.
I would recommend this to a friend

To be completely honest, I heard about this film through the grape vine and I am not much a movie person to begin with. But so many people were saying such good things about it that I thought I would check it out. It was AWESOME! It was my story, I was homeless as a kid and taken into foster care just before I was 18. What the main character goes through in this film is some of the things I was hurting with as well. I didn't talk for weeks... The lead actor in this just gave me hope by the end of it... that if he could make it through all the things he did... I can make it through my life too. I recommend this for anyone who has lost someone or going through a hard time.
