One of the best movies I've seen in years....I rarely ever buy movies anymore but this one was so good I knew I'd watch it again and again. Great acting and great story.

Nice little love story that brought me back to the old days. Great acting and very authentic. I saw it at the theater and just had to add to my collection. Highly recommended.

Well acted and great sotry about a young girl being uprooted and moving all by herself to the United States in 1951 and what happens when she has to go back to Ireland.

This movie is a Classic. Everything about it is excellent. Not sappy or saccharin, yet very moving and deep. I can see why it was on the Oscar list! I am so glad I bought it.

I saw this movie in the theater, but enjoyed it so much more on blu ray. It is a beautiful story with stunning scenery. Definitely make sure to get the Bluray version.

A beautifully shot film with just the right pacing for this romantic love story. A great cast from top to bottom with stand out performances by Saoirse Ronan and Emory Cohen.

This has quickly become one of my favorite go-to movies for drama. The music is beautiful, the story is moving, and the acting is top notch! My husband even liked it!

I loved this drama. I had previously seen it with the help of Redbox so I knew that I liked it before I bought it and the Black Friday pricing didn't hurt either :)

Really enjoyed this movie,looking back at immigrants coming to America and help they received from local communities as well as remembering what this country was built on

I absolutely loved this movie when I saw this at the theater and I just couldn't wait for it to come out on DVD. You definitely won't be disappointed with this movie.

I was able to pick up in store on the first day it was released. Great acting by cast, and costume and set design were authentic for the time period. Good family movie

saoirse ronan was up for best actress. did not win but excellant proformance as a young Irish immigrant in 1950 Brooklyn.

Incredible story of her journey of life and love from a hard Irish small town life to Brooklyn. Watched it 4 times and I never watch more than once usually ❤️

All the movie seem to be the same, but finally something new and different. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll watch it over and over again! Steal for the price.

I didn't catch the movie while it was playing in theaters, but I saw it on VoD when it came on HBO, and it is such a great movie to sit down and watch!

It has really cool features. The movie has great characters. It is a very wonderful story, just don't read the book. The movie people had better editing skills.

Dignity...that is the theme that kept me thinking throughout the film. The dignity of the main actress and she tries to struggle with her feelings for her family as she leaves for new shores in America. The dignity of the two men who are dating her - and they are searching for love - not just a good time with a girl. The dignity of work and of her efforts at accounting school. The dignity of her sister who let her younger sibling make the jump to a new land rather than herself. The dignity of the Irish workers - now unemployed - who gather together at Christmas and revisit their feelings for their old homeland. The dignity of the priest who helps the young woman.

Didn't know if I would like it, my wife said it probably would be a good story, it sure was a great story, well worth the money. Would highly recommend it.

I enjoyed the story line and the graphics. The star of the movie was wonderful. It was nice to see what Brooklyn and Ireland looked like before the present era.
