If you are using this on a network (wired OR wireless), this printer can configure itself without any effort from you as long as your network supports DHCP. The printer itself is well built, quiet and quite fast (both to first page printed and overall print speed. Print quality is great and one of the best features of this printer (albeit not well advertised) is the fact that it can emulate both IBM and Epson dot matrix printers typically used in Point Of Sale systems. In our case, that functionality made this printer the only logical choice as we wanted to start replacing those dot matrix continuous feed printers with quiet lasers that have better print quality. Others we tested (very few lasers have this emulation capability) were able to produce suitable fonts when in emulation mode but this model laser offers you numerous font options in every print mode - and it can automatically switch among numerous print modes as well as automatically switch between wired and wireless interfaces. Properly configured, this enables you to deploy a printer which can be relocated by end users to wherever they need to use it without requiring any effort from the IT staff as the printer will automatically select the interface that is functional and adapt to the proper emulation for each print job it is sent. My only complaint about this printer (and most lasers for that matter) is that toner cartridges are more expensive than I feel they should be. At least Brother splits the toner and drum assemblies into separate units so you don't have to replace a drum every time you are out of toner (like is required with HP), but considering the true cost of toner, refills really should be cheaper than they are from ANY brand. Having said that, I give credit to Brother for making higher capacity toners available (three different capacity toners are available for this unit - TN-720, TN-750 and TN-780) at more economical prices. Bottom line: Brother has become my first option for most laser printer categories instead of HP. We have about 40 of each brand, and although the older HPs are more durable, the newer model HPs and Brothers are equally reliable and the Brothers yield a far better value overall.

Please be aware that this is a laser printer, and that is the only function. I bought this printer without realizing that it is not a all in one. Overall though, this printer does the job that I need. It prints at a good speed, and so far I have no issues with it.

This printer is a great black/white laser printer. It prints fast and will accept a full ream of paper. Be sure to order a new toner cartridge if you do a lot of printing. The factory toner that came with the printer lasted about 3,000 pages for us.

I set the printer up using the top of printer buttons and menu display. Haven't had any issues with the printer so far. The print quality and speed is great and the cost of ink is a true deal.
