Though it is physically larger than any printer I have purchased in the past, I don't mind it. It was easy to unpack, easy to follow the directions, easy to set up the wifi. It's quiet and fast. I'd buy it again

I like to wait a bit to review large items. Have had this for two months and so far, so good. Other than being ungainly large and taking up a lot of space, there have been no problems or complications. Set up was relatively easy. Connected to wifi easily. Can print from all PCs and phones. My only gripe is the popup to update the software requiring a passcode, which we don't have. I guess we will never be able to update the software.

I bought this last year at the beginning of the COVID pandemic, mainly to print homework for my two kids remote learning. Setup was easy: connecting to wifi, wireless printing, etc. If you're looking for an all-in-one color laser quality printer, then I'd recommend this. The footprint is typical or even on the smaller side for a laser printer. However, the copier/fax functionality does make it taller. If you're limited on space, or don't want a printer that takes up too much space then this probably isn't for you.

I've bought a lot of printers over the years. There's two things I balance, yet I know many who don't really know or think about: - Ready when you need it - Total-cost-of-ownership (TCO) The problem here is that inkjets are the cheapest option for virtually all consumers, and often provide superior results if you are a photographer or artist. However, inkjet cartridges have a solvent in them, and they absolute WILL dry-out, whether you are using the printer or not. You can count on it. If you live in a warm climate, the dry-out time is half again what it is in a cooler climate. Stale cartridges are often sold in stores, past their expiry date. These things are what cause clogged print heads, and require wasting ink to clean them. Eventually, the entire printer becomes useless if the clogging becomes too difficult to clean, but you don't know this until you've invested in some new ink cartridges and used them up in your attempt to clean, only to find the printer still isn't printing properly. Does this sound familiar? How many brand new ink cartridges have some of you had to buy and churn-through, just to clean the heads of your printer? I've wasted hundreds of dollars doing this. The printer may still not even print properly after all the cleaning. That's hardly an "instant-on" printer scenario. My inkjets were never ready, and often cost a LOT of money in cartridges to get them ready, just to print 5 sheets of paper. Then there's TCO. Laser cartridges are a surprising expense for those new to laser printers. Yes, they last much longer, but a full set of CMYK is going to run you the same price as the printer. In all likelihood, a new Laser printer with demo cartridges, will have a higher TCO than inkjet, even when considering all the wasted ink cartridges on the inkjet solution. However, lasers have MUCH LESS waste, plus they work when you need them. And because there is no head to clog, the cartridges truly last until they are empty. If you don't print consistently, this can be a very long time. The only reason I've ever replaced a laser printer was when the trifecta of toner, drum, and fuser all exhausted at the same time, and made a new printer viable. That took 10 years. Most reviews will have adequately described the features of the Brother L3290. The real benefit of this all-in-one color laser is that even though it provides starter cartridges, the overall TCO of purchase and buying the first K cartridge is still no more than most ink jet scenarios. And as for ready-to-go convenience, it takes only 12-15 seconds from that hitting of the 'print' button to have that first page in your hands. Additional pages motor by at about one page every two seconds. Once you go laser, it's hard to go back. There's a reason you almost exclusively see lasers in offices and businesses. Those looking for gradual changes in grayscale or color will know (or should) that lasers do not always do an adequate job of these scales. They can pixelize. Unless you are printing a sample magazine or exhibiting a work in a gallery, the vast majority of users don't require this. There are better printers. I have a Xerox that's about 10 ten times the price. Yes, it's better. But this is a very, very good printer and all-in-one. If you've been stuck with inkjet waste and annoyance, and have been wondering about lasers, give this a try. You won't go back.

Bought it 2 months ago. Did basic printing. Works fine. Silent. Heavy printer 48lbs. Dependable. Great for paperwork. Not good for photo glossy/matte paper/colors. Seems best for office B&W copies. Need to explore more options. Still, well satisfiied.

The Brother HL-L3290 is a decent printer for the price, but it has some drawbacks. The setup process is a bit complicated, and the wireless connectivity can be finicky. The print quality is good, but the colors are not as vibrant as some other printers. Overall, the HL-L3290 is a good option for basic printing needs, but it is not the best printer on the market. Here are some specific points that could be improved: The setup process should be simplified. The wireless connectivity should be more reliable. The colors should be more vibrant. Overall, the Brother HL-L3290 is a decent printer for the price, but it is not the best printer on the market. If you are looking for a printer with excellent print quality and reliable wireless connectivity, you may want to consider other options.

I got so tired of having inkjet printers dry up on me at home without having used the majority of the ink in the cartridge. So I opted for the color laser and can’t say enough good things about it. Plus it has a scanner and duplexes for double sided printing. Setup was super easy on an iMac and once I connected it to my WiFi, all the phones in the house could print to it as well. The best part is that it uses toner instead of ink and won’t need replacing until I’ve actually used all of it. Each color has its own toner and the cost is about $48-$50 per toner unit when the time comes. I don’t print that often so it’s still cheaper than buying inkjet refills. All my kids love the printer and use it for all kinds of school projects. Do yourself a favor and get a laser printer... your wallet will thank you in the long run.

Quite an easy setup and very straightforward process. Perfect operation and loved the smooth sound while printing. Perfect for WFH use! This is the 2nd Brother printer I have after I’ve been using a single brand for quite sometime and would buy this brand again!

Easy setup. Just followed instructions. Wife loves ease of wireless printing and scanning. It is a bit large and heavy compared to our deskjets but that was expected. The print quality is very good. Only had it for one month but very happy with this purchase.

This printer truly delivers I am excited to use this for my poetry and other printing needs. It delivers for the speed the wireless capability and all the functions. It’s smooth and efficient. It is a bit bulky so you will have to have a special space for it and fortunately I did. I created a little stand for it because I did not want it to sit flat on the ground in case there were any fluids that might spill. I use a footstand and a flat piece of square wood that supported the printer completely until I get something better.

I really like this color laser printer now that I have it operating correctly. I had a lot of difficulty getting it to print wireless. The procedures were not very clear. The other thing I was disappointed about was that the printer had no fax capability and I was not aware of that. You have to get another model to get the fax feature. Finally, the printer is extremely heavy and needs two people to lift it. The quality of printing is fine and other than this items, I like the printer and believe it was worth the money. I might add that to copy documents, it is purely manual. You have to lift the top and place the document on the glass. There is no such feature as auto feed for multiple documents. Too bad.
