So, this isn’t the number one printer on the market but for someone like us who do not print a lot of pictures or documents, this does very well. You can load a tray of paper or insert a page at a time through the back. I like how quickly it wakes up and responds to any of our devices or laptops. It’s very convenient and doesn’t take up a ton of space on the desk.

Very Nice Printer for Price

This is a very nice printer for the price. It is a little slower than the HP Office Jet it replaced but much, much quieter and the wireless printing function has been rock-solid for the month we have owned it. Giving it four stars because text print quality was not great out of the box. Factory defaults were set to conserve ink at expense of text quality. Was easy enough to fix after a little reading of the manual. The user interface software is OK but not as well integrated or friendly as it could be, especially if you want to tweak settings. I've done some 4X6 photo printing using glossy paper and have been very satisfied with results. Have not had long enough to judge ink use but based on reservoir level indications so far I'd expect it to last at least a year, more likely two, under our modest printing needs. I did contact Brother Support by email with a settings question and they responded quickly within about 24 hours, which is fast in my opinion. Overall very satisfied so far.

This Brother printer works really well. The print quality is crisp and the colors are sharp. When a print command is sent to the printer, it responds immediately, unlike the previous printer, which shall remain unnamed, but if your printer company keeps changing their software to prevent third party cartridge use, you know what I used to have.
The ink tank system in this printer promises to last a long time. They advertise 150 pages per month for one year. I don't print that much per month, so I expect the ink that came with the printer to last at least 2 years, assuming it doesn't dry out or anything.
The user interface on the printer is very easy to use and well designed.
Last point: I replaced the old printer because it was so frustrating to have trouble with third party cartridges (I wasn't going to pay OEM cartridge prices) and the fault was with the OEM printer company. I asked the customer support at the third party cartridge supplier what printer company doesn't play these games and they recommended Brother as a straightforward manufacturer.

Great for black and white, not so much for color.

Great for black and white. The color prints look faded. I wouldn't use this for professional presentations or anything like that. The kids use it for school work printing out worksheets and such. It prints at a decent speed. I don't ever feel like I'm sitting around waiting for it. The set up was super simple and it's been working just fine ever since.

Delivered within timeline. Getting it out of the box and setup was quick. I have finished everything and printed my first paper with in 10 mins though this is my first home printer ever. Tried couple of color and black/white, 2 side prints, scan and really impressed with it. So far using it less than a month and happy with purchase.

Very quick setup, price is worth it. My old printer broke down, so I went through so many purchases to find this one. Had so much issues with other printers from HP, EPSON. Brother is highly recommended! In love with my printer, It is quiet and does the job well! lol. Already enrolled for the ink yearly enrollment! NO REGRETS HERE.

I have setup a couple dozen of these for clients. They are easy to install, easy for clients to use and very fast. The only downside is that photo printing is not great. But they are reliable and cheap to run. Lately they are hard to find, and I tried the HP OfficeJet 9015...not nearly as good as the Brother!

This is the best all in one printer I have ever owned. It was easy to install and it is easy to use. I have used scan, copy and print functions. Have not used the fax yet but I have no doubt that it will be ok. Brother makes it easy to change ink cartridges. Have been able to print from PC, mobile phone and Kindle through WiFi with no problems.

My old printer finally gave up the gjost after 8 years of service so I found myself in need of a replacement. I had heard about the large tank printers and did some research. I finally settled on the Brother INKvestment Tank MFC-J995DW and am very pleased with it. It was very easy to set up and the print quality is very good.

The only thing that would make this printer better is if it would scan double-sided. Other than that it does everything that it says it's going to do. I've had the printer for about six months and with moderate use I'm still pretty full with ink. Easy installation and setup. This is a great printer for a home users needs.

If own a small business or print a decent amount of pages per month, this printer is for you! For the price of $179 on sale (normally $199) you get an all-in-one printer with a year's worth of ink in the box*! It is sort of a hybrid of a cartridge printer and a tank printer. After much research, this printer hit the sweet spot for me based on my usage (about 600 pages/month) and initial investment. Similar printers were significantly higher in price and had less features. My best estimate is that this printer will pay for itself in about six months. So if you want a full featured all-in-one printer at a low price and save a ton of money on ink, this printer is for you! *The year's worth of ink is based on 150 pages per month; however, the replacement ink is really inexpensive based on its cost per page. In my case, I anticipate saving hundreds of dollars in ink cost just this year. If I applied the cost of ink for my previous printer compared to the included ink with the Brother MFC-J995DW, the printer has already paid for itself!

We purchased this printer to replace an old HP Inkjet, which was painfully slow and klunky to use.
It's now a pleasure to print! It's fast, intuitive, and I like being able to print directly from my cell phone.
Makes me wonder why we tolerated the old one for as long as we did.

I usually buy HP printers and decided to buy something different because I hate buying HP ink every time I had to print something. This Brother printer is so good on ink and the noise level is so much better than the HP printers I've had. I love this printer.

This Brother MFC-J995DW printer offers very good value for the money. The set up was easy. The print quality is better than I expected for the price. The menu is friendly, so you can get started quickly. Documents are great, however the photo printing is fair.

Printer manufacturers hope you will buy their printer at a low price and not worry about the cost of cartridges. Epson started to change that with its series of WorkForce printers that rely on liquid-fillable storage tanks at a price point of over $400.
Brother has now taken that strategy by selling liquid-filled cartridges that are not refillable, but last one to two years. The result is their series of INKvestment multifunction printers than run $199.99 to $349.99 depending on how long you want the cartridges to last. Otherwise, both models have the same features but different ink levels.
This review covers the Brother MFC-J995DW that includes one-year of ink in the box. Although list price is $199.99, discounts can be found as little as $150. When you factor in what you pay in ink cartridges over a year, this printer may seem like a bargain.
This wireless printer does it all: print, scan copy and fax with your option of a document scanner or a flatbed. It does all of these tasks effortlessly.
If you’re looking for print speed, this device is not. It prints a respectable 12 ppm (pages per minute) in black and 10 ppm in color. This is comparable to other inkjet printers at this price point. However, when compared to my laser printer (19ppm), the laser printed about 3X faster than the Brother.
It offers a 150-sheet paper tray, larger than similar printers. It offers several connectivity options including USB cable, SD memory card as well as wireless printing.
Text came out sharp and very readable, much like a laser printer. Although this printer produces sharp black texts, color photos look somewhat de-saturated. Colors just look slightly soft. The only option the printer offers is the type of paper you are using (plain or inkjet).
My only other complaint is the size of the LCD screen (2.7") when compared to other models. Typing in your password to set up your Wi-Fi, expect errors since the keys are so close together.
Overall, this is a solid printer with good printouts and solid ink savings.

This printer is everything I was looking for in a home office printer! I like the refillable ink reservoir and the fact that I can easily copy and scan. The pages print quick and have great color. It was easy to set up and supposedly it comes with a years worth of ink already in the box - time will tell if that is true. It was a bit more than what I wanted to spend, but I was so tired of spending big dollars on ink cartridges for my former printer that never seemed to last very long. I'm hoping that this new printers higher cost will be offset by the lower cost of the refillable ink. This printer is perfect for my home office now that I am working from home during the pandemic.
