First and foremost, this game was made for rockers and Jack Black. I mean seriously this is the thing Jack Black talks about in "School of Rock" and "Tenacious D the Pick of Destiny". The gameplay is repeditive, but fun because you can switch from hitting people with your battle axe or playing a quick riff to do some massive damage. At times youll have a "big battle" which is where you have stage as a base and you summon up soldiers(headbangers, bassits, roadies and more) to fight for you against the evil of the world such as The Black Tear(emo kids) and more. Along the way youll meet people like Ozzy who gives you buffs, new moves and cool gadgets to add to your car. Between each main battle you have little missions you gotta do that can become repeditive. The best part of the whole game other than Jack Blacks commentary is the awsome soundtrack! The music is metal, but more of Led Zepplin, Black Sabbeth, Ozzy Osbourne era type stuff. The game does have a decent enough story, but because the combat is repeditive you might lose sight of it every once in awhile and have to recap. This game isnt for everyone and some people might think its too repeditive and not really be into the music and thats ok. All in all this is a great game for any Jack Black lover, fan of big battles type games and into the classic metal genre.

With Jack Black as the main character in this game it makes it very comical.

I like Jack Black & metal music. There is over 100 popular songs in this game. Some you know, some you don't. But all good. There is a huge world to explore and many different mini games and goals to keep you busy when you're not following the main story line. After you finish the game you can keep playing to accomplish the unfinished objectives. Some parts can be repetitive but I still enjoyed it. I bought this from Best Buys "pre-owned" selection at less than $10 it was a great deal. I really wish Double Fine would make a sequel, but that'll probably never happen.

Great game highly recommended. If you love Jack Black then this is Jack Black's soul reincarnated in video game form. Fantastic game easy to learn gameplay. Vastly entertaining. And at that price why wouldn't you pick it up?

I used to rent this game a lot, now I own it. I love to play it all the time.

Its tongue in cheek, full of silly/dirty humor and has Jack Black as the main character. If you're looking for a fun hack and slash style game with a rock twist (I know, a unique order) this is your game. Definitely worth picking up at the current price.

Starts off as a hack-and-slash game, but eventually becomes a real-time strategy title. Kind of shocking if you don't know what's coming. Great soundtrack, though, and the voice acting is spectacular. Story has its moments. Not a bad game, but would have been better served as a PS2 title.
