I did some research before buying this product hence I was fully aware that it was an entry level NAS. Based on the specs posted at Buffalo's web page, my expectation was to get WD Red or Seagate Ironwolf hard drives at a minimum. For my disappointment, the unit shipped to me came with WD Blue HDD. I immediately called Buffalo tech support for clarification. The rep confirmed that the unit I received is what Buffalo has been shipping these days!!! Really? This is sub-entry level. Aside from being the lowest grade hard drive you can get (model number ending in "Z"), it is NOT intended for NAS use. So... I already returned it and bought another product from a more reputable manufacturer. Do not be fooled by misleading Buffalo.

I thought this would be an easy setup on my small business network. The hardware install went super smooth. My computer found the drive with the Navigation utility. However, I was unable to find the device share to create the mapping. Had to do a little google searching to find my way past the problem. Hint: make sure SMB 1.0 is enabled for file sharing in Windows 10. Documentation provided and on their website is not very detailed.

Easiest setup of NAS I have ever experienced. So much easier than previous two units from another manufacturer. So far working perfectly. No random disconnects!

i was a little reluctant on buying this NAS unit not knowing the company but read a few reviews and it looked ok so i purchased this and have nothing but problems with it. i followed ever step in the setup guide. i contacted support and have not heard back from them and it has been over the 24 hours they said they would respond in mor like 72 hours so i think that support is about as good as the unit itself.

Ive had so many problems with this. Each day it day cost us 1k of business. I was DFM which is a feild Marshall for Best Buy. I used our best tech (supposedly) for business applications. Ive had nothing but problems since day one. I reached out to Buffalo and they said i had an inferior product for what i needed. I bought a new buffalo and they made it work in 4 minutes for free. As an ex DFM dont use them . The Geek Squad has turned into a Walmart of electronics. I’m cancelling my Tech support its worthless.
