Customers are saying

Customers recognize the 16-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch as having a notable benefit, but some have mentioned the audible sound produced by its fan. The fan's noise level has been a point of feedback, with some users noting it is noticeable even when the device is enclosed. This is the primary negative aspect reported by customers. Overall, the switch's performance is positive, but potential buyers should be aware of the fan noise.

I did a lot of research before I settled for this Buffalo POE 16-port Gigabit switch. Most POE switches I looked at in the same price range only had 8 POE ports and less than 80W total power. This POE switch has 12 POE with a 120 Max POE budget (15.4 W/port). The only negative thing about this switch is that it has a fan in the back and some people have complain about how noisy it is. Personally, I have this switch in the basement in a rack-mount enclosure so the noise is not an issue for me. Other than that, this is a great POE switch with lots of features.

Good Product, but like others have noted, it is noisy, even inside a cabinet.

This switch runs all of my POE cameras for my home security system. It is a solid performer. No problems with this switch at all. I have 7 POE Cameras connected to it and all are running smoothly. If I were to complain about something would be the fan noise. It isn't terrible. But it is noticeable. Fortunately I have everything tucked away in the laundry room. So unless you're washing close you'll not hear it. But other than the fan noise this is a great switch. Couple the performance with the lifetime Buffalo Wireless warranty and it can't be beat!
