Great Choice For Personal Use

This is my 3rd opportunity to try BullGaurd so if history is a lesson, then yes, I like the product.
I have used (and am using it) on several laptops and on several Android platforms. It seems to do a very good job at finding and correcting threats. You get a discrete pop-up in the lower right corner when a threat is identified and the pop-up quickly disappears. This is appreciated as some other SW I have used practically lights up like a fire-truck in full emergen with lights and sirens blasting... OK, maybe I am exaggerating a wee bit but you get my point.
The set-up was simple, quick and light-weight. It operates in the background and uses very little PC/Android resources. The interface is clean and simple... So much so that even my 72 year-old flip-phone loving mom uses it on her tablet and laptop.
In all, this is a great choice for most any personal use and I would (and have) heartily recommend(ed) it to a friend.
**PLEASE NOTE** This was provided to me at reduced or no charge in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. This is exactly that, honest and unbiased.

trying to think what’s the best way I could even review this anti virus protection. so far the application keeps up with my daily sign in, it gives me an update if certain applications is trying to use my network, so you have the ability to accept it or not, bullguard have a ton of option right at the main application.
you have the anti virus section for quick scan, full scan or even custom scan you do from which section of your PC you would like to focus on, a firewall section to check your daily logs. a Vulnerabilites section, which i’m not fully quite sure yet of what it does. you also have the ability to back up your profile and have an option to create a profile for it incase something happens.
I do play a great amount of games, and i’m glad that bullguard does offer PC tune & game booster settings, so far the game booster protects you from experiencing frame rate drops that might cause by other programs that’s running in the background.
ever since i’ve downloaded bullguard i’ve use the network scanning features just to test and see if ill see any issues, so far everything is fine. it does detect if other devices was connected on my network that I might not be aware about, so seeing what’s in my network family is always a great feature for antivirus protection.
so far so good I always feel safer knowing I have anti virus to protect me from my daily PC usage, and Bullguard so far offers beyond what I expect.

I have used several antivirus / system protection suites through the years and I always judge by a few factors. This is a great suite that installs easily and protects well.
This suite is feature-rich and covers several aspects of computer protection and privacy and optimization.
Starting with security offerings, it installs an Antivirus program, firewall, parental controls, home network scanner, secure browser and a VPN option.
The product is very effective without being intrusive. I haven't noticed any slowdowns and it has been informative. I have been informed of unsigned certificates as well as information for when I am missing recent updates.
This is running great on Windows 10 and Windows 11 with no issues.
I have attached two of the screens to show the information console.

Decent anti-virus for PC and Android

I mainly got this to put on my Android devices, since the license allows you 10 devices. I put it on the 3 Android phones in my house, unfortunately I couldn't put it on my Android tablets because they're pre-Android 5.
I also put it on a Windows 10 laptop, to see if/how the Android and Windows versions are different.
It seems to work well, though the Android version has a lot less features than the Windows version. The Android versin has antivirus, parental controls, antitheft, backup and wifi security. The Windows version has antivirus, parental controls, backup, a firewall, system cleanup, home network scanner, identity protection and an optional secure browser.
The Android version seems fine, doesn't take up too much space and doesn't seem to drain the battery any more than any other AV app I've had. I haven't had any virus issues, so no way to know for sure how well it's working.
The Windows version is good, gives you lots of tools to keep your PC working well.
I'd say that since Bullguard gives you a decent number of licenses and is much cheaper than some of the other AV software, if you have lots of devices and need antivirus software, it's worth a try.

The first cringe moment was when I was forced to create an account after the installation. I had a serial number already, and I have never been a fan of things that force you to create accounts when there isn't really a NEED for accounts. For a local device protection software, I would have hoped I could simply have installed it and pasted in the key and been on my way.
The installer became completely unresponsive for a few minutes when I was trying to paste in the key. No idea why, I had just rebooted it and this was the first thing I did (since I had to reboot to remove ESET antivirus in order to test this). CPU was idle, no real MEM usage, SSD drive was not busy. But it finally took the number, passed through the rest of the install, and I was able to exit the installer.
System became pretty laggy at that point. My assumption was it was starting an initial scan or something, but there was nothing in task manager yet. Shortly though I saw the scanner and sentry and other processes using the CPU heavily. There was an "Optimizing your PC" window above the tray area. Did not take too long to run, my system just has the single 1 TB SSD, an i7 processor, and 16 GB RAM. It's a new 2021 HP Spectre X360.
When the scan was finished, it found two Windows security updates missing. My disappointment is that Windows update shows nothing pending, and all this gives me the options to do is "Install Windows Updates" or "Close." Nowhere does it give me a DETAILS button of what it THINKS it sees. I would've liked to have seen something where it would tell me the KB article referenced or ANYTHING. When you click the button to install updates, it simply takes you to windows update anyway. Which STILL shows me up to date and no updates pending, yet Bullguard assures me there are two invisible updates there waiting for me to install. Not even a driver update that Microsoft wants to install under other updates or anything. So they clearly have some work to do on this part of the software. This persisted for a few days and never went away despite no updates of any kind being offered.
After the initial scan, I never had any issues with laggy performance, no speed issues.
It also reported digitally unsigned device drivers. Since both of them were system files for built in Microsoft drivers that are part of the OS (bluetooth), I wasn't going to lose sleep, but this is the kind of thing that could freak out non computer users. I test things like this picturing my mother or uncle doing it, and then determining where I would get phone calls.
The UI is pretty basic and simple, but that's not a bad thing. Each of the components has a drop down box under it in the two row grid of the UI, and you can right there quickly get to things like settings and such. So many products bury settings under pretty looking buttons and menus. I prefer utility to eye candy, so this didn't disappoint me that way. Very utilitarian and easy to get where you would need to get to.
Sometimes you need to disable antivirus when you do certain tasks, or install certain software. This makes it easy, no hoops to jump to. Simply turn it off and that's it. Although it seems odd that there isn't any type of confirmation. But it does pop up a warning in the tray area so if something does it behind your back you are likely to notice it.
It starts up early in the login process, by the time I get to task manager there are already 10 processes running for it in the background.
They have plenty of options for scans, what you can enable and disable is pretty granular. Web traffic, email, files, you can enable or disable individual aspects. You can have it block a file or try to fix it if it finds something. You can even customize the sound it plays when it finds something bad. I'm picturing computers around the world with the "Dive" klaxon for submarines sounding if it finds something now. You can set to only do files that are executed, select specific file types only, scan inside of archives or not. Even options for skipping based by size or network locations. And it has the normal options to whitelist specific files or folder locations.
The tune up has the defaults for things like various web browser caches, windows temp file locations, dump files, log files, etc...
My laptop is my work and personal laptop, so I have no other users, so I was unable to test the parental control features.
I had upgraded then after running it for a few days to Windows 11, and it continued to function. I had it catch a legitimate program (weather app) that it thought was bad and quarantined, and restored the file. Successive reboots after that have the program launching without further interruptions from the antivirus. Interestingly enough it stopped nagging me as well for updates after I upgraded to Windows 11.
More playing around found a duplicate file finder under the PC Tune-up. But I don't seem to have any options on WHERE to run it. I don't need to waste time on my whole drive, but I would have loved to run this against my photos folder only...
This is then where I found apparently I had a typo when I did my login. No way to fix it from within the program, it has a nonexistent email address as the username for my login so I can't change it or adjust it. I WAS able to change my user details on the web portal though. Then I logged out of the software and back into it with the corrected email address. All was fine.
I wish I could customize the interface page. I have my own VPN, a lifetime subscription from another company, so have no need of theirs, yet I have to look at 1 of the 10 icons being the ad for their VPN. I've never been a fan of software vendors who received money from me for their software, pushing more ads at me that I cannot remove.
Their privacy policy with Experian, who they partner with for Identity Protection, was one to which I did not agree. I didn't want to start getting spammed by the third party affiliates that it would have required I allow to have my data. So I did not use the identity protection portion of the software either.
The backup seems to be a pretty straightforward option. You can pick the WHAT (Documents, photos, music, videos, desktop, or specific files and folders and any combination of them), WHERE (Dropbox, google drive, onedrive, or an external HDD, USB drive, or network location), WHEN (set a schedule or something I was pleased to see, an option to NOT schedule and just let me run it manually when I desire), and HOW. The HOW lets you synchronize the backup, compress it, encrypt it, and allows you to specify how many versions of the files to keep. It doesn't allow you to specify how many VERSIONS of the file to keep, such as the ability to keep the last six versions, or four, or whatever. It only allows you to specify a time frame, in days, weeks, months, or forever. You can also specify to only do multiple versions for files that are smaller than (insert size here in MB). That way you can set things so it will keep your office documents for many versions worth of history without worrying about it doing the same with other larger things like media files and such. This is actually one of the features that would have me more likely to recommend this to family members, as they habitually fail to back up their systems.
Seems to be a fairly solid product, with a good slew of utilities here for the average home user. There are things here I would not use myself, but I'm the CTO of an IT company so I'm not quite the same level of activity and knowledge of most home users. This is a 10 pack 1 year subscription that really packs a value for this price point, since even the most basic antivirus programs, per seat, usually cost three or four times what this comes to for a single device.

First impression:
My first impression of Bulldog Premium Protection is that it is a lot of program for a really good price. The going price is about on par for many of the other serious antivirus/anti-malware programs, but there’s a difference between them and Bulldog Premium for two reasons. First, for the price, you get 10 device licenses. That’s a lot of devices for a non-enterprise security package. Second, it’s not just antivirus or anti-malware, it’s an entire protection/optimization package.
Installation:
Installation is straight forward and painless. Once the installation starts, you are required to create an account before continuing. I don’t like having to do this because it’s usually a hassle, but in this case, it was simple without excessive hoops to jump through. I installed this on 2 Windows 10 machines, a MacBook Pro, an Android, and an iPhone. Installation was smooth with every installation. I am reviewing the installation on my Windows 10 desktop computer.
Program:
The program is a suite of computer utilities. First is the antivirus/malware scanner. The scanner is very fast, and when not scanning it’s monitoring the computer in real time. I can’t speak on the accuracy of the scans as I didn’t have any infected devices.
It has a firewall that is enabled by default. It sets up default rules based on your computer and allows you to easily create rules. The vulnerability scanner scans and monitors vulnerabilities such as WiFi security, Windows Updates, and unsigned drivers. The backup utility can back up any or all the computer to DropBox, Google Drive, OneDrive, or a network drive, and can compress and encrypt the backup files.
The Home Network Scanner does an excellent job of scanning the network. My home network is complex, and it completely identified 85% of it, and partially identified the remaining 15%. The Identity Protection monitors your personal information and lets you know of known compromises. The Parental Control allows restricting programs and Internet access for those needing protection. The VPN works very well and with the built-in secure browser, Internet browsing is much safer.
The PC Tune Up & Game Booster does an excellent job of cleaning the computer. The scan looks for unneeded system restore files, temp files, recycling bin, duplicate files, unnecessary startup applications, and other items. The scan cleanup is quick.
Conclusion:
I am very impressed with the Bulldog Premium Protection software suite. It is feature rich, affordable, works on Windows, MacOS, IOS, and Android, and doesn’t bog down any of the systems I installed it on. And the best part, you get to use it on 10 devices. I am switching over from my current antivirus software to Bulldog Premium on all my Windows and Mac devices. I highly recommend this software.

For an antivirus program it does what it says. Installation was pretty easy. It does ask if you want to initially allow programs through the firewall which is handy. I suppose it is deny all permit by exception. I don't like the fact that its not on IOS. Its listed on windows/mac/android but no IOS. It doesnt appear to be resource intensive but it would be difficult to determine with the overbuilt gaming PC I have it running on. I dont notice any impact while playing online games at all. Everything runs very smooth. It does have pretty good configurable parental controls if this is something you require. This could be very beneficial if you are looking for something to protect your childs laptop as well as have very customizable parental controls. One thing i did notice is this software can be a bit chatty especially with devices connecting and disconnecting from the network. Overall its pretty good all in one software and I would recommend it. I also like the fact I can use it on 10 different devices. Thats a really good deal.

My subscription to BullGuard offers provided straightforward protection. I was able to test on my Windows 10 machine and android device. I preferred my experience on the computer which seemed to provide variety of ways to protect my device. The application left a small footprint when using it in the background. Also, the game booster option didn't decrease my FPS while gaming. My favorite feature is the identity protection. After providing details such as phone and email address, I immediately received historical records of where and when my information was comprised. Reporting is concise and detailed. I did wish they fixed the UI for WIndows 10 since it's very pixelated. Overall, this is a good product for your protection needs.

Keeping you safe on the interweb

We do a lot on our computers - from homework to online banking to social media to shopping. Every month, there is a list of ‘to-do’s, I call them “updates’, as it seems your computer need a monthly checkup to make sure you have the latest and greatest version of the software. It is necessary, as more and more exploits and zero-days are found circumventing your safety online, the more this becomes an issue.
The question is do you need an antivirus to assist in adding some protection? Yes. In this day of ransomware and other malware ruining our digital storage and online life, it is a must-have. I have been using antivirus on my Windows machines for a long time even though I am an advanced user.
Let me put this scenario, you are out browsing your news blog, and you happen to click on a link. This link takes you to a website, and then without you knowing it, a piece of malware gets installed on your computer. Could this happen? Yup, and it does, as websites get compromised by bots all the time, and in effect, you become an unwilling participant. Now, this malware is exploiting a bug in your web browser and because you did not update it last month, your web browser is venerable to this kind of attack. This is where antivirus like the Bullguard Internet Security could just be the ticket to preventing that nightmare scenario. The reality is that this happens far too often, and I see it on my personal machine when the antivirus popup says “blocked malware” while I am visiting my news sites.
The software install is rather easy and simple. It downloads the required missing files automatically before installing. It was a rather fast install, and that is including adding your email address and serial key. I did note, that it is possible to install the software without the serial key, as long as your email is in there. The software is rather a bloat-free experience, it didn’t really slow down the machines it was installed on, including an older IntelNUC that sits by the TV. The software control panel is easy to understand and use. It features antivirus, firewall, backup, PC Tuneup, parental control, Home Network Scanner, identity protection and a secure browser.
Most antivirus software requires a company to create the antivirus definitions, and it seems Bullguard uses the Norton servers when it received its updates. That is reassuring to me, as the product is going to have good protection.
So what does the downsides? Well, I don’t see too many honestly. It’s lightweight, and non-intrusive, and seems to work just fine. I tested the game booster mode, it is rather light, did not see any issues while gaming FPS issues. The backup feature requires you to set up profiles, but then automatically sends the data to your dropbox or google drive, or external hard drive or network, which I found very handy. The secure browser that the software comes with won’t open up non-HTTPS sites, but that may be by design. The biggest downside is that it is a new antivirus brand, but given that it has the backing of an industry giant, I have no hesitation to recommend this software. It looks like it is priced competitively and works rather well. I am looking forward to using it on some of my other windows machines. It is worth noting that this software is available for Android (Chromebook / phone) through the play store and also for macOS based laptops and desktops, thus providing extended protection to personal devices.
I installed it on my android phone - the installation was simple, a quick download off the play store, and log in with your BullGuard email and password. It features a rather unique ‘anti theft’ module, that allows usual features like a lock, locate and wipe, but the ‘scream’ option was interesting, all accessible once you give device permissions - after which it is accessible on the web. It also features a parental lock and antivirus scanner for your bad android apps with malware.
On the mac running Catalina, the install took a lot longer than I expected, but it could be that I am running a 2014 Mac Mini with a dual-core 1.4ghz intel core i5 with 4GB of ram and a slow hard drive, and that may be the cause. That said, the feature set is similar to what is available on the Windows version, though it specifically asks for full disk access before it would run. I use the mac for one specific task for iOS development and the speed isn’t as critical as with my regular desktops. That said, if you run a Mac, this software will work fine as long as you got the processing power. I do not have the M1 based macs, but I assume it should work on those.

This is a pretty full featured package that has a lot to offer. It installs easily and does not seem to slow down my computer. I have quite a few devices on my home network, using the Home Network Scanner it gives me a popup when devices come on the network. I'm sure I could turn it off, but it is interesting to see.
I have used the PC Tune-up and it seems like it helped. It did find quite a few things to fix, and duplicate files to free up a lot of space.
The user interface is pretty intuitive, so I like that.
If you are looking for Premium computer protection, I think this one seems pretty solid.

Been using this for about a week now on my PC. I have not noticed any alerts. I have not noticed any slowdowns. I have scanned my network and no issues were found. I have used it to clean up junk off my PC, so that worked well. I really can't judge until it finds something.
Updating firewall and other tasks are very straightforward. The app has a lot of sections but is easy to navigate.
No NAG messages like with other antiviruses I have used that want to sell more products. The suite is pretty complete minus a VPN. Also there is no driver updater, not a big deal but have found that very useful with other packages I have used.
As for the Android app, not as impressed. The antitheft is about the only useful item and that is free from Google. It does give some additional features not available from Google find device like parental controls and knowing what apps are installed, but they are available through the Play store. I have received multiple alerts saying the app is draining battery, so there is that.
Dropping a star for the Android App, it just does not offer anything and you can not access info from the PC App you need to access from a web page. There needs to be more functionality. I don't think the app is worth wasting a subscription on.
Overall, nothing to worry about and it seems to do a decent job on the PC. On Android, not worth the install at this time.

Very nice interface with multiple options including Antivirus, Firewall,
Monitoring for Vulnerabilities, Backup, Game Booster, PC Tune up, Parental Control, Home Network Scanner,
and Secure Browser.
Additionally, if you choose, they have a VPN at an additional cost.
The home network scanner is useful as I was able to see all devices that log into my network.
You can edit the name of each device so you know exactly who is on.
Bullguard also has the ability to track your devices and activate "anti-theft" feature, enabling you to erase everything and snap shots if there are too many logins and so forth.
If you have young children with cell phones/devices, the tracking feature is nice, although it has to be accessed from a desktop browser (or desktop mode on phones) and not from the phone app (this is why I gave it 4/5).
This feature lets you see a map and track the phone's location.
One of the things that stood out was the ability to install BullGuard on up to 10 devices. Other services commonly offer only 5 devices, so 10 is great, especially for larger families or many devices.
Overall, I'd recommend it as a great option for security and monitoring of your home & smart devices.

This 10 Device package is a great value. Besides covering 10 different devices it comes with 9 different tools to protect your computer. Antivirus, Firewall, Vulnerabilities, Backup, PC Tune Up & Game Booster, Identity Protection, Parent Control, Home Network Scanner and its own Secure Browser. VPN is available for 7 day trial and additional charge.
I have installed it on both my Windows and Mac computers with little interruption. The first day or so was when I received the most popups for some files that were running in the background that were suspected of being malware. The popups asked if the file should be deleted or ignored. After that I hardly know its running in the background which is exactly how I want it.
Besides protecting my computers from attacks, I have found the PC Tune Up very useful. With a quick scan, it found almost 1GB worth of files to clean up from the Browser's cache and Windows Cleanup categories on my main PC.
If you have a household of devices to protect, this 10 device package is a great solution.

Bullguard Premium has a lot of features beyond the normal antivirus software. It installed easily without requiring a restart which I found odd. This review covers the 10-device package which allows use on more than just a PC--Mac, Android and iPhone are also covered so the software can be installed on those too.
I noticed that even though it is also protecting my PC from potential problems with web sites, web browsing seems faster than it did with the otherwise adequate previous antivirus I was running. No lag or hesitation loading web pages.
The Bullguard Premium suite includes cool things like a home network scanner, firewall, identity protection, a tune-up and game booster, backup, and a secure web browser. There is a LOT for the money here since you can protect 10 devices with one relatively small investment. I have had other protection suites "bog down" a computer but that is not the case with Bullguard.

The only reason for 4 stars is because it took a little while to download. The features of this antivirus are cool though. It also has game booster which helps all the scans go on one when gaming for a faster experience. There is a parental control feature where you can block your kids from certain websites etc. You get coverage on 10 devices.. I would recommend!

This is my 1st encounter with BullGuard products. I have been a happy AVG and McAfee user for years but decided to give this a try. I loaded it on 2 of my laptops.
I found that they all do pretty much the same thing with protecting my computers from hackers, malware, etc. BullGuard offers something different with their coverage of Wi-Fi scanning. This version protects 10 users for 1 year across various platforms.
It was pretty simple to install with the download however is was pretty slow comparatively. It went through the analyzing and detecting and scanning. The initial full scan took some time though ~17mins. I uninstalled McAfee which was already on one of the computers before I began. I am impressed that it continuously scans our wi-fi/home network and shows what devices are recognized. We have a smart doorbell, smart speakers, many computers, and thermostats online as well. I also like that it performed a PC tune-up.
The BullGuard window has a nice look with different access squares for Antivirus, Firewall, Vulnerabilities, Backup, PC Tune Up/Game Booster, ID Protection, Parental Control, Home Network Scanner, Secure Browser and the option of purchasing the VPN. If you opt in for the Identity Protection it links you to Experian for that service - you have to Opt in. There is also a Secure Browser that it recommends and seems nice and easy to use, but I prefer to stick to my preferred browser.
I was disappointed that BullGuard Premium Protection does not include a VPN however you can purchase it after a 7 day free trial. I am big fan of using VPN so that may be a deal breaker after paying a higher price for this product. If that isn't a big deal to the user then this is a great product if you were to find a sale price for it.

The BullGuard Premium Protection gives me peace of mind. Helping to safeguard from the dark web's platforms and websites is important to me. Especially with all the attempts of hackers trying to steal personal information. Love the fact that there are parental controls to help with safeguarding from online threats. Downloaded the software on my Android Tablet. Went to the app store, downloaded the app, and used the code provided. The software downloaded pretty fast with just a few easier steps. The software was able to detect threats and kept my tablet running well. Glad to have software that can go on more than one device. Including cellphones, desktops, laptops.

I have been very happy with this BullGuard protection so far. With how much of an investment our computers, phones, and other devices are these days, I think it is very important to protect them. This software was very easy to download and set up, it essentially set itself up. I am glad that this BullGuard protection protects more than just the device it is installed on. As soon as it was open it recognized my home wifi and started monitoring the security of the network. With how many devices we have connected to that network, that is a great piece of mind. The menu for this BullGuard protection is very user friendly and easy to understand and navigate, and the amount of protection you can monitor is great. The antivirus, firewall, identity protection, device health and more are all an excellent value for the money. I have used a different big name brand of protection for years but I am seeing that BullGuard is offering more protection for the money so I would have to recommend this one.

This has been my first experience with Bullguard’s Premium Protection software and I must say I am very impressed. It offers a full suite of features that work great without noticeably slowing down the various devices I installed it on (Windows PC’s and an Android phone).
Installation was straightforward and simple on all devices and I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it includes a PC Tune Up feature which quickly became one of my favorite features. It also comes with a secure browser but like most people, I am pretty attached to the browser I normally use so I don’t see myself using this feature often, if at all.
One other thing to note is that there is a VPN feature but it is not included. If you want to unlock this feature, you have to pay more for it. This isn’t a big deal to me but it is important to note in case you are expecting VPN service to be included as well.
Overall, I really like the 2021 edition of Bullguard’s Premium Protection software and I highly recommend it!
I would recommend this to a friend

Installation was straight forward and easy. I enjoyed how the website was laid out showing you your subscription, which devices it is currently installed on, when they last checked in, and then some other options.
In general, the theme here is things are laid out well, they are intuitive, and they are simple. It may not be the most robust security suite (not that it doesn’t have a ton of features, but options/settings are limited) but the ease of use is fantastic. The UI is simple if a bit dated. But allows you to find whatever you are looking for easily. I really liked this aspect.
Due to the overall easy to use interface and the fact that I got INCREASED frames in games while also making my computer feel more snappy (as the performance hit with this guy is nearly non-existent). I decided to keep it on my system over Norton. Even though Norton is a bit more secure. But I don’t do stuff where I put my computer at risk very often. So, this should be more than enough. If you are doing high-risk work I’d recommend a more expensive security suite such as Norton or McAfee that protect stuff more but hit performance harder. I also like how this guy completely takes care of itself and notifies me when something is amiss.
FEATURES:
Starting left to right you have your Antivirus. Which you can do a quick scan, full scan, custom scan, quarantine, and settings. Which is pretty typical. These scans were pretty quick and didn’t really effect my processor much. About 30%.
Then you have Firewall. Which does a great job at catching things. When it does it will notify you with a little pop-up. You can manage the rules, logs, network activity, and settings.
Next is Vulnerabilities. This goes through if your wi-if is secure, if auto run programs from removable devices is off, if windows is up to date, if windows update is configured to update automatically, and if you have any drivers that aren’t signed by Microsoft. If you do have something that isn’t signed it will list their names and you can click on them to bring up exactly where they are located. This is one of my favorite features.
My actual favorite feature is the PC Tune Up and Game Booster. I’ll go a bit more in-depth on that below.
Then you have Identity Protection. Where you can put in your info for them to monitor if they find it on the Dark Web or not. Personally, I’m not sure how good these features actually work.
Next you have Parental Control. I don’t use this because I don’t have any kids. Then you have the Home Network Scanner. Which is neat. However, if you are like me and have a ton of devices connected to the network it doesn’t really work well. As when I was scanning for devices it would mess up half way through. This happened on both of my Wi-Fi devices. Likely because I have too many devices. But not on my Hardwired connection. It also only had generic names for everything. Which wasn’t helpful. So, for me this is more a gimmicky feature. For others I can see it being helpful if you are very limited in the amount of devices and you go through and name them. But that is too much of a hassle for me.
Next is the Secure Browser which I didn’t really use to be honest. From my limited testing it was a bit more secure (by not allowing certain things on websites to work). This is what made it a bit slower than other browsers. But that’s what happens when you add security so I’m not complaining. If you are doing banking work or something then it’s nice to have for an added bit of protection.
Next is the Bullguard VPN which is NOT included. You have to buy that separately. Other security suites include this now. But they also cost a lot more. I’m fine with saving money and not having it included.
ADVANCED USERS:
If you go into the “Settings” for the entire Security Suite you have a tab to go to Basic or Advanced. Even the Advanced was straightforward and simple. You can do a lot of tweaking if you wish. But it is a bit more limited compared to some of the competition.
GAME MODE:
I tested this on two different machines. One is a low-high end machine (3800x, Rtx 2070 1440p monitor) the second was a mid-tier gaming laptop (5800H, 3050TI). Both of these felt a bit snapper and quicker when I was using this security suite over Bitdefender and Norton 360 for Gamers. I found compared to Norton 360 for Gamers (since I actually tested this one with my desktop PC) that I got higher frame rates and higher sustained averages by a small amount.
Norton 360 vs Bullguard Premium
GTA Online: 87 average fps vs 94
GTA 5 Single Player: 134 fps vs 140
Apex Legends: 153 155 fps Apex Legends vs 157 158
