I was very pleased to find this series at Best Buy !

I couldn’t find this collection anyplace else and wanted to add it to my digital library. It was $2.99/episode to digitally download through one of my providers so this was the perfect alternative. Love this book series and the DVD/TV series is well made and a nice visual add on.

Lead part played by same actor as played Athos in BBC's Three Musketeers (Tom Burke). Captures suspense and intrigue from the books succinctly. Great interplay of personalities in the characters, especially Strike and his assistant (across the series). Hoping they'll add the fourth at some point, now that the book is out.

Best treatment is book one Cuckoos Calling as it gets a longer air time to complete. Books two & three are on the 2nd DVD and seemed shorter, thus missing some of the inter-personal dynamics of the characters which makes the books more interesting. Having read the books first, I can say that the main "whodunit" plot of the books is well covered and they seem to stand alone without the books; but I'm a poor judge of that. Casting of characters was very good, just as they were imagined while I read them.

I loved the books and didn't know that they made them into a TV show. Don't have the channel or network that it is on so I ordered the DVD's. So happy I did. Cant wait for the Lethal White to come out on DVD.

The price was vert reasonable for three mysteries. I would recommend this series to anybody who likes detective stiries.
