smart bulbs

Very nice but some problems

After several days with the bulb lighting only manually, it started working with the "hey Google" command again. After a few weeks, the same thing happened. I don't know if the problem is with the bulb or the Google Home equipment.

There’s 6 different shades of light you can choose from, also you can decide how dark or light you want it. It’s pretty cool! All you have to say is “hey google, turn on the light!”

They make like easier and no arguments on who is shutting off the lights when you and your s.o. are both already in bed

Allowed us to have just a little light at night for feedings and changing him, and being able to adjust it to warmer or cooler colors is also nice.

Good product, not sure I need the added feature

Don't waste your money

GE states you can connect straight through Google Home App/Mini/Assistant without having to use their hub for most functions. That you can use their App to create scenes and use them in Google Home Routines, while heavily implying in their language that you can do this WITHOUT the hub. Which would make these bulbs a FAR better value for money than most competitors. What they DON'T tell you is: A) There is a limit of 8 bulbs you can direct-connect in this way per Google Home Device you have - and even that limit is not reliable B) Google Hone in fact CANNOT recognize and use Scenes created in the C by GE App without your having the Hub, directly contradicting the implications of their advertising - I won't say they are falsely advertising because the language there is actually pretty grey, but it is definitely past borderline. C) When something goes wrong with these bulbs (not if), you cannot un-pair and delete a single bulb from Google Home in order to reset and fix it. You have to un-pair and reset EVERY SINGLE BULB you connected, then re-pair and re-program each of them D) Each time you un-pair and reset them, they become increasingly unstable and harder to both accurately reset and re-pair with Google Home (not blinking, not found, becoming randomly unavailable far faster after having been finally paired which ends in having to un-pair and reset every single bulb yet again in order to fix). I bought a total of 10 bulbs - 2 Color, 2 Sleep, 6 Soft White. I have had them installed for 5 days - that is less than a week. I have had to un-pair and reset all of them a grand total of 8 times in that time. "Works out of the box" indeed. Just this morning, after thinking I finally had them working, the Sleep bulb in my bedside lamp came on as scheduled in Google home, responded to a voice color setting, and then in the time it took me to brush my teeth became "unfindable" by Google Home. Please try again later. I am returning them asap - tonight if my schedule permits. I did not pay over $100 for this kind of stress and time wasting to keep resetting. It's too bad too. I liked them when they did work. But in this case, I guess you really do get what you pay for. Save yourself and buy Philips or LifeX.

Connectivity issues

I would recommend using these with a C by GE switch, or in a lamp that is always on. We have occasional connectivity issues with our google home because they are not "always on".
