I've been keeping close tabs on smart bulbs for a while, but many of them had the same problems: some require a hub, many sell you one bulb for too much (average cost for color bulbs is $50 for one) and I don't need many), most depend on WiFi which is not very ideal and lastly, many aren't from brands that have a huge reputation. This one is perfect. You get two bulbs, they can be controlled via Bluetooth or Google Home/Assistant, Amazon Alexa or Apple Homekit and at 760 lumens, the difference is mostly negligible when compared to an 800 lumens bulb. I personally have been looking for a Bluetooth controlled one as you don't have to deal with the headaches of WiFi and it is much easier to manage. The app used could use a bit of simplifying when it comes to navigating within it, but it is very usable should you want to take my route and not use Google Home or otherwise (despite the warning the app gives you regarding this). All around this is the best you can come across, and with the reputation GE has earned when it comes to light bulbs, I'd say the same can be said about the quality of the light.

The bulbs are bright and offer some customization for color. Good natural scattering on the light, it's not as shadowy as some LED's. That's really the only positive. The system is incredibly glitchy and plagued by connectivity issues. To the point of it being unusable. They work maybe 10% of the time. The smart bridge is just as unreliable. When the connection is lost you'll have to unscrew, unplug and reset everything, forget the devices and go through the entire process again. This connectivity bug has happened daily since purchase, on 5/6 bulbs I had purchased, as well as the bridge. I will be returning everything and trying a similar set up from another manufacturer.

I really like these. I have 1 in my room along with 3 other regular white smart lights. Just had to figure out the right color to match the other smart lights, then i set up routines so that i can say "ok google... blue room" and my other 3 white lights turn off, and this one turns from white to blue. I set up a red room command and of course, a "back to normal" command otherwise you will be annoyed trying to get this light to get back to the same color and brightness as the other white smart lights in the same room.
im glad i bought this. the other smart lights had to be set up through c by ge first, and then imported to google home. but these color lights go direct to google home app. setup was initially tricky because it was a learning experience c by ge google home. all confusing initially. but 10 minutes later all works.

Bright and vibrant colors. There are so many colors to choose from. Works great with the Google Home. Changing the brightness setting was easy, and was easy on the eyes (especially during night time). Definitely would purchase again!

So I own google devices and it works perfectly with the system. Occasionally it doesn't want to respond but at most that is like a once every couple weeks thing. They work really well with the routines in the Google home set up. I wish there was an even dimmer setting then the 1-2% even so I was surprised it didn't get dimmer. It is a really bright light and all things considered really awesome.

Thank you for the review! With regards to the connectivity issues you are experiencing, double check the name of each bulb. It's important that they are unique and not something like "smart light 1, smart light 2, etc." Also we have found that using the name of the room in the name of the light confuses the AI in the Google Home as to which light you want to control so it returns an "unable to connect" response. These work great out of the box, configuring them is easy but using them (I mean, every time you need to change the color or brightness) it's a bit annoying. It's a process I understand, but just to change the brightness I need to start Bluetooth, sometimes log in to C by GE system and wait for the app to find the bulbs (if you're lucky). It works always after some tries.

My daughter got these. It’s nifty that it’s controllable through voice or a phone app, but dude- it’s a light bulb. Do we really live in a world that needs light bulbs that change color when you yell at them, and you can turn on and off from anywhere in the world? If that’s what you need in your life, I guess these are for you. Too much for my old mind to deal with.

These color changing lights are great for a game room or other entertainment area. Sadly, sometimes these lights don't stay connected with the Google Home system, but when they work it's fun to control the brightness and color choices with your voice.

The deal on these is hard to beat. They work as intended however the app is a little fickle. Doesn't always work with Alexa and I've had to reset one of the bulbs to get it to recognize but with 10 total I don't think that's bad. If you have other hubs make sure its compatible if you want to integrate them.

So I have had used a few different smart multicolor lights. They all cost much more than a smart white bulb. For me it was all about the setup and App that makes these smart lights better and better as they progressed through the development and over the years there are many to chose form. I purchased these to be used with Google. And so they were the easiest to setup form all my other smart multicolor bulbs. So far they have not disconnected and had to be re setup. All of my previous bulbs seem to have needed this done after some time. These worl very well and are easy to setup. I like them much more then my previous versions.

These lights work great after you get the, all connected. I set mine up with a bridge to work with the HomePod. Save yourself a headache and make sure you download all the firmware before trying to change the light color. Very bright colors and paired with the light strip it makes some great scenes!

The lights work really well and were easy to set up. The only issue with them is that you have to decide which app to use them in, the GE app or Google Home. They can’t work in both at the same time and the Google Home app doesn’t have as many features available for the lights.

If you'd like to use both apps you can get one of our hubs, we recommend the Smart Plug, and connect to the Google Home app using the Works With Google setup, as opposed for the Made For Google setup that forces you to pick one or the other.
