This is great for the low price; however, There are a few issues. If one holds the mic, it will ruin their recording. It's a lowER quality mic and any touching of the mic will be picked up. Thankfully, it comes with a good desk stand. I also experienced a insect-like clicking sometimes when using "Sound Recoder" on Windows. To get around this, I kept the switch off and the mic unplugged. When I was ready to use it, I unplug my laptop fan (seems to make a difference), plug the mic into my computer, turn on the switch and it's fine. The issue may have been having energy going to both the mic, fan, and a keyboad. (Sometimes a controller as well) The microphone is also very sensative. One must keep their distance. If they don't, the recording will overexpose. (As I call it) This is when a sound is too loud for the microphone. (also applies to weak speakers) I tried adjusting the recording options (on the task bar) and that didn't seem to help very much. Finally, by placing the mic about two feet from my head, it's fine. Overall, it's good for the price. Next time, I'll buy something more expensive. You get what you pay for. This fits my current needs. There's no sense overspending if you don't need a high-quality mic. For singing, I don't know how it works as I use it for talking.

I heard good reviews about this, I thought this would be good too. But this microphone is really really strong! It can pick up a lamp and make my recordings like buzzy. Without the lamp, there was some kind of buzzing noise that quite annoyed me. But it's really strong. It can pick up things from far away, which is a problem but also good too. IF YOU HAVE ISSUES WITH WINDOWS 7 ABOUT THE NOISES: Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > Recording > Right click Microphone > Properties > Listen > Playback > Speakers > 3 - C - Media USB Audio Device > Ok

Yeah um, don't get this. It's garbage. It picks up radio frequencies. Whoever made this, do you guys even test out your product before you ship it out? Tried to troubleshoot it and it was still picking up the radio. So all in all, it's a bad product. Won't be buying from this company again.

The microphone is of good quality and sounds good. It is a very good value. The tripod is very stable and sturdy. My two teenage boys and their friends have spent many hours creating their own music.

I found this mike to be good for the price but had some issues with clarity in beginning. Had to make adjustments with laptop to get better quality. Overall, very happy with mike.

I bought this microphone in hopes of recording a demo at home, and I admit it picks up musical instruments very nicely. However, the vocal quality is not as peachy, but is adequate. I would say it's aimed more at the beginner level for those who want to make adequate recordings for fun.

The CAD USB microphone is a surprising blend of quality at an affordable price. I am currently using it with Dragon Voice recording software. I had the occasion to contact their Tech Dept. recently and found them of considerable assistance as well. Buy it.

This made a God awful noise when I first plugged and it never stopped. Even in test mode (on 2 computers) you could see on the graphs tons of noise coming across at a high volume. I sent their support staff an e-mail which states they would get back in 2 days. After 3 days, still nothing. I sent another email. Again after 3 days nothing. I faxed a copy of my emails to the corporate offices. 3 days later still nothing. Tomorrow it is being returned.

Excellent microphone for internet communication and speech recognition. Picks up sound well. Instructions do not make clear how the stand opens out, so you have to puzzle it out. Excellent quality for the price.
