I havent played MODERN WARFARE for a while but a few weeks ago, I picked it up and started playing it again. I am hooked all over again!! Where to start? First let me say this game has already won "GAME OF THE YEAR". My entire reason for buying a PS3 sysem was to play this game, after I played this game at my friends. GRAPHICS- EXCELLENT GAME-PLAY- EXCELLENT SOLO- GAME PLAY- EXCELLENT ONLINE-GAME-PLAY- EXCELLENT CONTROLS- EXCELLENT Thie online play is great!! online has several maps and a map pack that can be downloaded for an expense.. You can rank up through several ranks and gain lots of modern weapons and addons to the weapons such as LASER-SIGHT, SCOPES, SILENCERS, and much more. Online is extremely fun. This still ranks as my favorite game on the shelf!! Keep in mind there is a MODERN WARFARE 2 due to release in NOVEMBER 09!!! (this is handy information because prices may drop on this game once the sequal is released) however you may want to get started on the first before the second is released?? you can access lots of information on CALLOFDUTY.COM..... TO RECAP... THIS IS TOTALY AND BY FAR THE BEST GAME I HAVE PLAYED ON THE PS3 AND IS A MUST HAVE!!! I GUARENTEE YOU WILL LIKE IT!!!

Best first person shooter game I have played in a long time. Great Hi-Def graphics. Makes me feel like I am really there and in the action. I have been playing the game for almost 2 months now and I never get tired of it. Not to mention they are coming out with new maps soon. Can not wait!!! Also note I never played any of the previous versions either. I was just wanting a first person shooter to show off to my friends who were all bragging Halo 3 this, and Halo 3 that. Well this beats the pants off of Halo 3. No doubt in my mind what so ever. I go so tired of playing Halo 3 at my friends and that was only after playing it a few days. Not to mention the single player mode of Halo 3 is BORING! Never once have I been bored with COD4! I have actually gone back and redone missions over and over again. It's so real its scary at times. Never know when somone is going to jump out at ya. Or what will be around the corner. The single player version even has a Sniper mission that will make you hold your breath!!! I highly recommend this game to anyone and is a MUST BUY!!!!

I guess everything is said. COD4 is the best FPS game I ever played. It has all the stuff: precise gaming, good story, not many bugs (even when sometimes some friends or enemies do some fun stuff), and the most important think is that the story is fluid in time (not applicable for example for Killzone II, where your friends die and then suddenly is waiting for you some steps ahead or an entire crew is waiting for your arrival after you are the first entering the scene; you wont find that in COD4). Really a must for lovers of FPS. The only thing I can criticize from the game is that it is pretty short, but then you can start playing online. I am waiting for COD6 next month.

this game is awesome. the graphics are great. maybe the best I've seen in any playstation 3 to date, (maybe on par with metal gear solid 4). the gameplay is just like all the other call of duty games, no suprise there, but why fix that which ain't broken. the assortment of weapons in this game are cool, you even get to try out weapons that don't even exisit. which makes for some cool gameplay. the difficulty ain't that hard, but ain't simple either. I beat the game in about 13 hours without using a strategy guide or help of any kind. this game will keep you at the edge of your seat until the very end. and after you beat the game you get an extra level to play after the credits finish. which is kind of cool. buy this game, its worth it. it will keep you busy until call of duty 5 comes out, which I believe will be just as good as this game is.

Best shooting game ever created. This game is awsome in in everything graphics excellent, story awsome and online play is incredible. In this game you have many weapons perks and choises to make. Even non shooting game players must have this game

CONS To start off, it's the Game of the Year edition (which means you get the free map pack with it) and it doesn't come with it. I've called over three different stores and companies and NONE of the new shipments came with the code. Secondly, they need to do something about their friend-to-friend playing. Very few friends will actually be able to play along with you online. Extremely annoying, and I don't care how bad/good the internet connection is for anybody. Pros Everything (but the cons I wrote) , the gameplay, graphics, idea, everything about it is amazing. It'll keep you addicted for hours and you won't need another game for a long time.

This game will never get old still people playing online lots of fun all around a great game i will always play. The story is great the maps are fun the multiplayer is great (if you can avoid a hacked lobby) i will continue to play this game as its very addicting. This is the game that paved the way for all the Call of Duty fanchise. Would say get it if your a fan of first person shooters.

Oh my god. I have never played a game as good as this. I've played halo gears, ghost reacon, and other first- person shooter, this is the best by far. Conquest is awesome! It's like you're actually in the war. Dialogue really brings the game to life. Online is awesome. Team deathmatch is great. If your bad and on recruit for conquest you will have your butt blown off. If you love first-person shooters, then your crazy not to get this. ADD TO CART!

When I got this game the first thing I did was play the campaign which was AMAZING!!! But at the multiplayer gate I faced waiting times exceeding 5 min. or more only to be thrown into a random map that was either over or ended before it started. Lack of dedicated servers is the problem here and I think this game is better just for the single-player campaign but for multiplayer try Battlefield or Modern Warfare 2 cuz this game's multiplayer is just HORRIBLE!!!! Also beware of infinitely respawning enemies that come at you until you move....but other than that the graphics are decent.

I play call of duty all the time and I absolutely love this game. The graphics are amazing. I tried other "war" games after playing COD and none could touch it. The online gameplay is awesome as well with extra maps available on PS Network. Storyline is pretty cool because it goes through most of the events leading up to and after the Chernobyl incident. My favorite mission was the C-130 mission and the "All Ghillied Up" mission. Play the game and you'll understand why it was voted Game of the Year!!!!

I was kind of skeptical to get this game for a while, but after all the rave reviews I read I broke down and bought it. Very good decision. The graphics are great, the gameplay is very fun because no two missions are the same. I'm not a big online player so my only real cons with this game are that the single player campaign mode is very short (i beat it in about 3 days) and there is no co-op option. Other than that this is a great game and i would definitely recommend this to anyone.

This was the first game I purchased for my PS3 and was blown away by the non stop heart pounding action. The graphics are unbelievable for being an older release. I couldn't believe the explosions and realism of this game. All the levels were great, not a dull moment. I was a little disappointed with how quick of a play this game was. I beat it in a little less than two day's. I'm not an online gamer so I definitely haven't taken advantage of the full potential of this game. I'll just keep playing through on the different skill sets until Ive had my COD fix.

Perhaps the best war game in viedeogame history is Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. It's great for the multiplayer combat battles and online. The graphics are amazing and the weapons are insane. I peronsally love this game beacuse it is a great game for just hanging out with your buddies and playing online. Not only that, you get an idea of what war is really like in Iraq. I have owned the game for 1 year now and i continue playing it. This game is worth the money.

This game is incredibly fun and well written. The online multiplayer experience is great and typically doesn't have many issues. The only thing I didn't like was the $10 map pack. I'm not a big fan of downloadable content, and I didn't think I should have to pay $10 to keep playing along with everyone. This basically killed my streak of playing regularly. Otherwise, the gameplay is great and the game looks amazing.

Great game. I had played the multiplayer with a friend on XBox and it was even better on PS3. Controls are easy to learn, and the game is very well to adapt to your skills. Multiplayer is fun too with the 4 person split screen. Great game, well recommended if you like military games or shooters. makes you feel like you are a Marine.

This game is very good. Multiplayer is amazing i mean theres no hackers or camping or lagging or anything bad. Campaign is the best modern warfare campaign yet, very interesting.

I have never played any game for very long before I got tired of it, but this game has been so fun I can't stop playing it. You can hook up with your friends online and play as a team. I have never played any game as many hours as I have this one and anybody that loves great graphics and cool weapons will love to play this game.

This is one of those great games you don't have to sell very hard, just looking at it you see it is something special. There is a nice effect of blurring distant objects allowing them to give more detail to the nearer objects and emphasize realism. It isn't perfect, but it serves to immerse the player nicely. There are many different objectives to accomplish, defend things, destroy things, carry your wounded pal around and occasionally put him down so you can BOTH fight, and there are also traps to use. The online component is one of the biggest draws of this game, the leveling system makes it addictive to gain more and more. This leads to an issue which leads to the new players being at a disadvantage since they lack the gear and skills of their higher-ranking competition. The gameplay is also short, short enough to finish the single-player campaign in a single week, but you will probably replay it. There are also more races from here or there with enemies between for my taste, but your opinion may differ. Overall this is great and you should strongly consider purchasing this game.

This game is truely worth the purchase. I first went into Best Buy and purchased the star wars force unleashed game the day it came out. I did not open it and read a ton of reviews about how it was fun but very fast, so I then took the game back and picked up Call of Duty 4 with the help of the sales associate in the Sherman Oaks store. The game came highly recommended and I am glad that I purchased it. The graphics are amazing. I am not much of a story reader and like to fast-forward my way through, and this allows you to do that. You do have to wait for the occasional chapter loading, but that goes by quickly. I do not like to read manuals, so it took me about an hour to realize I could change weapons easily which helped alot! But, once that was all settled, it was a very exciting game. I blew through the easy level in a good amount of time for a beginner, and just finished the hard level, which I would definately recommend. Now I cannot wait for the online play. Watch out people, I am here to whop some booty! Thanks BEST BUY SHERMAN OAKS CA for the referral. It was wroth it!

Plain and simple--- I was expecting to be able to pretty much choose what I wanted to do in the single player mode. I was hoping to choose my guns before levels started, choose my paths through levels, etc. From all the hype that this game got I was at least expecting the campaign to be good... I played through about 5 or 6 levels and stopped. It was the same thing over and over. Unless you make your person move forward, nobody else moves and the bad guys keep coming- just what I hated about the older CoDs. Also the same old 1 path through a level makes the single player terrible. There is no variety at all. Another thing that I also hate with the campaign is the fact that it jumps around from playing as a British person or whatever to a US Marine. I would love to play as the same person the whole time.... gaining exp/rank, unlocking better guns to use, being able to recruit and lead a team... something like that but there really is no ability to do anything in the campaign. That being stated, online play is great! Enough said! I would recommend it to a friend for online play but not for the campaign.
