got the beta for my xbox, had cod4 for both ps3 and 360 and was addicted to it like none other. i was made that they decided to go back to the ww2 but gave it a try anyways. didn't really like the beta to much at first but that was because i was getting killed a lot with the new maps. after putting some hours in the game is great. i like modern weapons but the old ones are so similar once you play and get use to all the new stuff it is just like the old stuff. the maps are great. the new games are like war are fun and different. i can't wait to see the complete game. if you liked cod4 you will like this. i thought i was going to hate it too but it is going to be a great game. when you are playing you forget that it is ww2 cause really the only difference is the different guns. the best part of the whole game is when you get 7 kills straight and you release german shepards for a minute. the dogs are no joke and will get you as many kills as the chopper did on cod4. you love them when you have them you hate them when the other team has them. just get the game you will love it if you loved cod4.

This game is awsome. Grat weapons, maps. The flamthrower is the best thing put in this game. Its soo fun to walk around burning people. Online: Just as good as CoD4. The campaign is a little short. It only took me 8 hours to beat. If you are hesitant to get this just get it. You wont waste your money.

Another Great Installment to the CoD Franchise

Call of Duty: World at War is a great FPS, but it's not perfect. This game deserves a rating anywhere between 4.0 and 4.5 stars. Is this the best WWII FPS game currently out on the market? Sure. Is this the best CoD game of the series? Maybe 2nd or 3rd best (with respect to this game as being the latest installment – Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare being 1st and Call of Duty 2 being either 2nd or 3rd). What makes this game great are its gameplay, graphics, intensity, co-op, and re-playability. There are plenty of details in the environments, making this game fun to play and fun to watch at the same time. The presentation is outstanding, and the game sounds amazing in surround sound. Weapon sounds, accuracies, and details are spot on. The campaign has you playing from the points of view of the Americans and the Russians, but you probably won't care too much for the storyline. And every time you hear Kiefer Sutherland as Corporal Roebuck issue commands at your side, you won't be able to help but picture Jack Bauer in place of Corporal Roebuck. Even though the missions are enjoyable and very well done, there is not as much variety compared to the previous installment. After about the fourth or fifth mission, the missions will seem overly repetitive. The two missions that stand out in front of the others are the sniper and tank missions. Otherwise, every other mission consists of “shooting the enemies as they pop out of cover, pushing forward, getting over the hill, ducking and covering, and trying to reach several checkpoints.” Enemies still continue to spawn if you don’t push forward, and some (very few) are out of place – they won’t shoot you, your comrades won’t shoot them, and they just stand there or do some idiotic retreat, making them the opposite of artificial “intelligence.” However, all of this is made up for with the addicting multiplayer and unlockable “Na*i Zombies” game modes. The multiplayer is fun as with any FPS multiplayer game. Perks are automatically set for each weapon class and are not customizable. With "N*zi Zombies," you can play offline by yourself, with one other person on the same console, with two consoles and two players for each console (LAN party), or online with up to four other players. Teamwork is the key to success. The gameplay for "N. Zombies" is to simply defend yourself and your teammates as hordes of the undead break through windows and walls. Weapon upgrades and power-ups are practically necessary as the number of zombies, number of bullets needed to kill each zombie, and zombie invasion speed increases each level. Overall, CoD: WaW has been another great addition to the franchise. It’s definitely worth giving a try.

    The Best FPS ever made!

This game is amazing! I love this game! I've beat it multiple times and it is still extremely fun! If you are going to buy a Call of Duty game, or a FPS game of any kind, buy this one! You will not be disappointed! the only way you wouldn't like this game is if you are allergic to fun! Call of Duty Modern Warfare 1, 2, and Black Ops are awesome games too, but if you are going to buy just one, buy this one! The graphics are amazing, the story is awesome, and the replay value is one of the highest i have ever played! Even the online multiplayer is amazing! This is the game that got me into online gaming, and i still play it! THIS GAME IS THE BEST FPS EVER MADE!

Call of Duty: World at War is a very fun army game. It has good graphics, it's fun, challenging, and adictive.(Adictive is sometimes bad). There are many guns to chose from and it takes place in WWII. The maps are pretty big, and there are many special weapons you can use including vehicles, tanks, bombs, mines, ect. It is a MUST BUY for all Call of Duty fans & one of the BEST shooter games ever. I hope you buy it, the price isn't that bad once you play it.

I wanted to hate this game, but I can't!

I am a COD 4 junkie. I had never been much into shooter games before I bought COD 4. Only video game I have played for a year solid. With that said, I was apprehensive about COD: WAW. I heard they were going back to WW II and have never been a huge fan of WW II games. Also I was very angry when I learned Infinity Ward was not behind this one. As I stated above, I wanted to hate this game. Boy was I wrong! Is it better than COD 4? No, but honestly what game ever will be? COD 4 is hands down the funnest game I have ever played. Back to World at War. The graphics are amazing, I don't understand how people can complain about the graphics. Are they not playing on 1080p? The online play is out of this world. So many weapons, levels & modes. Also, I hear people complaining about the story mode being too short (maybe that's true) but I bought this game for the online play. One problem I do have is while playing co-op story mode you cannot save until you have completed it in single player first. Don't really understand the motive behind this but oh well. My only other concern is the online servers. There seems to be long intermissions between games and seems to time out more often than COD 4. Something I'm sure that will be corrected with a few updates. All in all if you are a fan of COD 4 or a fan of online shooter games, this is a must have!

all around fun game. great story, another double story where your a russian in the red army and an american in the marines. the story is pretty long. the online has better maps then COD4 but the weapons are pretty old school but still fun to use. All around a great game. I love it.

Great game sucks you in the story. You feel like your in a war. Every level is way different from the last. Online is tons of fun like in all Call of Duty games. Its nice the kill streaks are not over powered makes for fair game play. You also get zombie mode wich is really fun and very challenging. This is a game i will never stop playing. Graphics are good not as good as modern warfare 2 but it came out before then. All in all great game for little money

If you liked cod4 buy this game. I swear you wont be disappointed. the online is very similar to cod4 with new guns and maps. They have an sight like the red dot in cod4, a silencer, and something like an ACOG. I've had so much fun playing online because there are so many guns. (whoever says the online is laggy or W/E, its not) There are also way more perks. THere is also still prestige mode, but there are rewards for prestiging, you get more custom classes. The campaign is short, but it is the best cod campaign there is. I have all 5 of the games, so i have knowledge of the games. i died about 100 times on that sniper mission on veteren./ if you play a difficulty right for your ability, it is great. i recommend this game too every cod4 owner who is hesitant to buy this game. You will not have you money wasted.

CoD 4 revolutionized FPS's for good, with its realistic graphics, tight gameplay and most importantly, the multiplayer, being simply amazing, that it changed the popularity of war games from the WWII storylines to that of modern and future warfare. Even Medal of Honor and Battlefield, mainstays of the WWII FPS, switched over to a modernized setting after the success of Modern Warfare to varied results (Battlefield, successful, MoH not so much...). Being the last (Currently at least) game in the series to use such a setting, does it do so with flying colors or does it sink with the Missouri during Pearl Harbor? Taking place in the Pacific theatre and Eastern front of WWII, the story follows a US POW freed from captivity to help push the Japanese out of Peleliu and towards Japan itself, and a Russian infantryman who meets Victor Reznov (This name will pop up in later installments) who team up to push the Germans back to Berlin and bring an end to this deadly war. I was finally happy a WWII game finally had a Pacific setting and was actually good (Didn't play Battlefield 1943, nor did I play MoH:Pacific Assault since I fail to have a powerful PC to run it effectively at the time or could afford it on PSN) and satisfied my WWII itch with perfection. Sure it fails to surpass, or even match up the previous title in the series, but WoW still impresses me every time. Graphically, it looks great, especially with the flames, sound is top notch, the controls are tight, and is an all around joy to play. Multiplayer, on the other hand, is one area this game improves upon the previous game. The previous modes appear here, with Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and other standard modes are here, but it also has full game Co-op for the first time ever in a CoD game, but it has an ace up its sleeves: Zombies. Seemingly included as a fun throwaway addition, this mode is the main reason to buy this game. Addicting to the point of buying every map just to have more levels and variety, this mode is challenging, creative, actually makes players use teamwork and is just plain ol' fun. Playing solo or as a team to see who can last the longest amount of rounds, seeing who has the highest kill count and just surviving make this mode probably one of the greatest multiplayer additions of all time. All in all, not as good as Modern Warfare, but with solid gameplay, a change of pace from the usual European settings of WWII and terrific multiplayer, makes this game a must own!
