    Terrible lag time

Worst cam ever! There is a 8-10 second delay in the camera feed. Meaning, once the cam notices movement it takes 8-10 seconds before it alerts you and when it's on live feed there is still an 8-10 second delay. So if you were to stand in front of cam and move your arms. It takes a full 8-10 seconds for the picture on your phone or tablet to move. We did a real life test to see what it would relate to. I was able to walk up our driveway, open the door of my truck and grab my radar detector, wallet, hoodie and get about 30ft down the street BEFORE the camera alerted movement. Then to make matters worse. It started recording after I was already in my truck making it impossible to see anything except my backside making it completely useless. We have returned this p.o.s. to Best Buy and purchased a cam for $109 saving us $90. New cam is up in same location as the Canary Flex was and is awesome. It alerts within getting a few feet in our driveway and has virtually no delay on live feed as well. I've timed it and it's less then a second delay. Picture quality is as good or better then the Canary which was pretty good and is wireless like the Canary. Do your self a favor and don't purchase this thing unless you don't care about delay time on alerts or delay in noticing movement.

    Too many issues...

The battery only lasted 4 days with full charge (tried twice). The streaming video did not work because my ping rate was too slow because of my satilight internet (I new this was possible when purchased). The last thing was the connection was always being dropped (this was on canary's end). If everything had worked it would have been a nice product as the build quality was great. I returned camera's and went with Arlo Pro which now works with my slow ping rate and seems to have no issues, so far. We'll see how the battery lasts but the app from Arlo is much, much better. It also has free recording for 7 days.

    Not good enough

I wanted the wire free and flexible positioning to hang from porch overhang. Which meant I had to hang upside down. The picture is then upside down and can't be rotated. 2) when accessing from the app, about 1/2 the time it won't connect to the view, and you have to back out and redo. 3) motion detector didn't work well. I also bought a Canary indoor view camera, and with both positioned in different places, the indoor picked up motion while the flex didn't, although motion was closer to the flex

I rent at the moment, and was able to easily install one at my back door (outside) and one at my front door (inside). I can take them with me when I move, and setup/installation was a breeze.

    Not what I read

Camera works great. But does not capture movement at 25 feet day or night. Measured the distance at 10 feet. Deck is 20 x 20. Will only capture at 10 feet from back door. The viewing distance is of my whole yard. Purchased to keep an eye on my dogs when they were out in the yard. Called customer support and got no help.

It was great, but now terrible

The most recent update took away existing features. The Canary security system now basically REQUIRES paid membership to be functional. So do not purchase unless you intend to pay monthly fees.

Love this, getting them for Christmas gifts

I love this so much I have bought them for several people in my family. I love that it doesn't need a monthly subscription. It stores 24 hrs, but really, if something goes wrong, you'll know within that time frame. If it's not enough, then pay the monthly subscription. It works really well and I get my alerts within the parameters I’ve set.

    Worthless

Nothing works without paying additional $ for a subscription. All you get is 24 hrs of activity, and it doesn’t show the activity from start to finish, so you just see a snippet teaser, and a link to sign up and pay to see the rest. And if you put it on a window sill expecting to see outside at night, all you get is the reflection of itself because of its own light that doesn’t shut off.

With or without Membership, Canary devices monitor your home when armed and will send you motion notifications with recorded video clips. Other features that are included on our basic service are 24/7 Watch Live, 24 hours of video storage, and other core features like night vision. Our basic offering is highly competitive and offers video recording, a feature not available on many free plans in our category. Canary used infrared lights to help it see at night - these don't work through glass. I'd recommend placing your Canary Flex outside so that it doesn't have to look through the window. CanaryCo

Purchased this camera to keep an eye on my GSD as he was recently adopted. Never a dropped connection or difficulty with recordings or live cam view. Pan and tilt works as expected. Will br adding more to have more coverage of the house. Would definately recommend this camera.

The flex has a terrible battery life. They say it can last up to 2 months and I am lucky if I get a full week. I even moved my signal booster to get a better connection and it still does not last over a week. The lag time is not good either!

    WORTHLESS!!! BEWARE!!!

So incredibly disappointed. Will never spend another cent on Canary products. I don’t have the money to shell out $300+ for the premium services. So, without them I basically have baby monitors. Absolutely disgusted that this company can’t even send notifications to camera owners. Seriously, what is the point? Congrats on the money you got out of me already, won’t get anything else though.
