    Canary Table top Camera

Love the easy setup and camera automatic mode settings activating Away or Home modes based on presence of your phone device or you can manually set the modes. But many service features are turned off unless you pay for them. I can live with the 24hr maximum video retention time limit. However, I really am disappointed and upset the recorded motion events are maximum of 10 second clips with 3 seconds prior to start which is not enough video recording to document or see any break in event. You must pay for more than 10 second recordings which is ridiculous. What is the point of it being a security camera? Otherwise I love the camera, clear detailed video, zoom, live view response. Phone app functions work well but wish they were less confusing for me as I am a senior and much prefer a menu selection rather than searching displays for symbols. For those that can afford to pay for services, the Canary camera is perfect. For those not wanting monthly fees like myself, it is very frustrating to own camera's that are functionally limited to live view and 10 second motion clips. I purchased 2 camera's and I am living with it and debating if I should return these or live with the very restricted use.

The canary is simple to setup and has good quality video as well as a good app experience. It would be a 5star product if it weren't for the problems they have created starting in October 2017. The problem is, they recently updated their service contracts and now what was once free with the Canary (scheduled Night mode for example), requires you to buy a paid membership. This was not simply some promo, it was a legitimate feature that I've had access to on this canary and my previous one for over 2 years now. The idea that they can simply remove these services at any time leaves me uncertain as to how nice this canary will be in the future. I purchased this security device because it provided the best set of qualities WITHOUT having to buy a monthly membership. Now that they have removed some content, and with the threat that they could remove a lot more, I would be cautious suggesting people purchase this product.

I purchased this camera after someone decided they wanted to steal packages off my doorstep during the holidays. So far since my purchase I can tell you that the camera quality is great through the app. which was something I was worried about. And also the sensor for picking up on movement works well. And the night vision or night recordings aren't too bad as well. However the application on my phone is a little delayed on sending me notifications when it senses something moving. And there is a delay when it initially starts picking up movement. Also to note, don't set it by a window angled out toward a road, it will pick up and record every car that passes by until you get home. But for a moderately costed security camera it covers the bases for the most part.

This camera is easy to set up and place in your home. It looks like part of our surround system. I have a clear view at night. The audio is also good. There is a little of a delay but it's still a great purchase.

My daughter originally purchased a Canary on the recommendation of a friend who sets up security for companies after her home was burglarized during the day and she needed something she could set up immediately. After seeing how hers worked, I purchased one for our home. It was incredibly easy to set up with my iPhone 6 and worked well while we were on vacation for two weeks, the only issue was when a power outage occurred and the unit went offline. Frankly, for that reason and also that the unit would not need to be placed near an outlet, I would have liked a battery operated unit. The unit will send an alert to your phone when it detects motion and you can also watch a live feed from your phone whenever you choose. I purchased the black one with the thought that it would be less visible, however, when the unit is on, there is a green light that is hard to miss when it is activated, so if you plan on using this as a “nanny cam” that is something to be aware of. You have the option of activating an alarm on the unit from your phone, which is really quite loud, or you can place a 911 call if needed. The Canary also has features that will monitor air quality in your home, but I have not used that. All in all, this is nice option if you want some peace of mind without paying monthly fees and you want something that is easy to use and set up.

This camera works great for capturing great video for day and night. It works well to automate the arm mode when I leave the premises with my phone. Although, it sometimes doesn't disarm when I come home. This could be something with Wi-Fi not registering fast enough for it to disarm. It also indicates "activity" when in arm mode and lightning flashes or when extreme cloud cover lowers the light in the house. This could be setting that I have yet to discover, but I'd rather have it then not at this point. I would also prefer to have the light underneath the camera to turn off, since I don't want unsuspected intruders aware of the camera system but that is just my preference. In the meantime, I just put something in front of the light and it hides it well. I am really glad that I purchased this camera and BestBuy had the best price that I could find.

I bought the Canary Indoor Wireless system to keep an eye on a second home and use it with both my iPad and iPhone. It does the job; using the Canary app I regularly use the system to view a live image from two cameras at the home. I get very good images, both of the living room and a bedroom. Overall, I am very pleased with the product but want to note that there are occasions, perhaps due to a busy network, that I cannot bring up live image. The inability to access the cameras/images happens about five percent of the time.

Quick and easy to set up. Video quality so much better than my previous wifi security camera. A security system that's easy to set up by yourself. No hassle from a monitoring service and someone coming in to install set ups with holes drilled in the wall, wires running under the carpets, and permanent placements of cameras.

I purchased this Canary all in one security camera about 2 months ago to complement my other non-Canary camera that I have. The camera video is very good, and the night vision allows you to monitor your home in complete darkness. To take full advantage of all of the cameras features including the 2-way talk, you have to purchase either a monthly or yearly membership. Once you receive a motion activation on your smart phone, you will be able to either watch the recorded video of what just caused the activation, or live stream your protected area. Set up was easy to connect to my WiFi. Overall its a nice compact system that you can put almost anywhere inside your home. I would recommend this system to anyone, but just remember about the membership fees involved to access its full potential. You should probably go to the Canary website first to make sure all of your questions are answered before buying the camera.

If you're looking for an inexpensive, but quality security system, this is it. Pros: Not too expensive. Super easy set up. Connects to our phones and automatically arms when we leave and unarms when we return. Night vision works great. Camera angle is wide and gets almost the whole room. Video quality is great too. Cons: No two way conversation ability. You can hear what's going on in the room, but you can't talk through it. Lag is about 8-10 seconds. Still better than other systems but it's lag. Overall I TOTALLY recommend this. We will be expanding ours soon and adding more cameras.

Easy to install, easy to setup, and easy to use. Features a great camera, offering great visibility. Offers a slick cloud solution with a no cost entry point and reasonable upgrade packages. The sensors are very sensitive, and sometimes give false alarms....but the sensitivity can now be adjusted. I have three units in two houses.

Bought this for a second residence as I am away a lot. Plan to buy one for my primary as well. Activated by sound or change in lighting. Notifies you ( slight delay) when activity is perceived. Only problem I had was that it didn't recognize me despite having my mobile phone with me whenever I was home. Otherwise nice wide camera angle and clear picture. Plugs in but keeps you informed wirelessly

I've purchase the Canary to monitor my apartment when I was a away on vacation and did what was advertise. I was able to remote access the device to set mode to ARM(motion detection), Disarm and put in privacy mode. The device was easy to install, features include free video recording, motion detection, temperature and air quality sensors and view video live about 10 second lag(records to the cloud).

I love the temperature and humidity readings and the camera is awesome but I get 2 alerts a day when the outside light changes. The camera is so sensitive it captured a fly soaring past one day and gave an alert. There might be a setting to change this, it is something I will have to look into. It was super simple to set up.

I tried a few products before settling on the Canary. I love the video quality, and phone motion notifications/link to video. My only complaint is with the location activation/deactivation service. It is pretty hit or miss to catch when you enter or leave the premises, so sometimes it won't disarm when you arrive home or arm when you leave. I ended up turning this feature off and set it to manual. Maybe a future update will address.

The camera worked flawlessly for three weeks and it shut down and stop communicating for 12 hours without any explanation it went back online as mysteriously as it left. I called customer service and by the time they got back to me it had fixed itself Other than that one incident I am quite happy with the product.

I wanted to add one more layer of security - catching the event on camera. It works very well for this purpose. Pro's: The wide angle can see my front door, sliding glass door, and down my hallway. The quality of video is very good. The night vision is very good. The motion sensor is customizable so you can see events that are "big enough" to warrant recording. The sound is very good. I like the monitoring features too - but it's kind of a fluff feature. The fact that it looks more like a bluetooth speaker than a camera is a nice feature too. Easy to pair. Con's: You can't record to a network connected or cloud drive (or any other method but their service) - but none of the cameras in this range have that feature it seems. The air quality sensor needs t be calibrated which is hard to do when the outdoor air quality is very poor to begin with. No ability to access the camera from a PC - only your phone / tablet. Neutral: The phone app is ok and could use some improvement. All in all it is a good device and meets my expectations - and caught my son sneaking snacks in the middle of the night (funny). Now he talks to the camera to tell me what he's doing.
