I don’t really remember this movie but I can’t wait to give it a watch

Candyman has always had racial undertones to it from the origination of Candyman in the 1800s to continuation of story moving into the ghettos of Chicago. Had this movie been released 5 years ago it would be applauded and appreciated for the decently written piece it is; however most never picked up on the racial undertones apparently in the one star views in the original movie series since the political climate was not driving that as an unsettling topic. Not being what is considered "woke" as the term is used today. Really appreciated the ending to this one and the incorporation of needing a witness. A witness to continue that legacy..."Tell everyone..."

This movie brought back memories of the fear of saying candyman 5 times in a mirror. Definitely worth the watch. However, I’d call this more of a thriller versus a horror film.

Good movie , it’s a little different from the original but still good and they do tie it in from the first movie and the original candyman come in at the end .

An enjoyable remake of the original classic. I liked the modernization of the Candyman urban legend, allowing for a more current and relatable feel with the characters. It's a good watch for a movie night, I highly recommend!

This film may not seem like it at first, but trust me when I say it is a great film to watch with the original Candyman in a double feature. Candyman is a film that attempted to be a franchise in the 90s, though it seems you could easily ignore the other Candyman sequels if you wanted. Jordan Peele wrote a great story for this new Candyman film, and it does not disrespect the original in any way. Being a new film, Candyman in 4K is immaculate, along with the audio. Highly recommended!

Candyman 2021 wasn’t as good as I hoped. It did the best with the screenplay they had but ultimately fell flat. I like how this Candyman connects to the original film. I honest like the original film better than this one. This film has an stellar cast but even that couldn’t save it. I commend Nia Decosta for making the best out the screenplay that even Jorden Peele helped penned couldn’t save. If another film is made hopefully it’ll be better this one ends setting up a sequel.

This was great and I love how it tied back to the original Candyman and gave extra history on the character. If you like scary movies, buy this one.

Thought the 4K was pretty good, the movie on the other hand was better than I thought, not the same feeling as Candyman originals, but still very entertaining.

This movie was a pleasant surprise for me by bringing the Candyman mythos full circle. This is not a reboot, but a continuation of the original story. It includes (unfortunately) issues that we were dealing with then and still do today. Jordan Peele is definitely associating his name with very interesting horror story telling. Glad to have this in my collection.
