Very pleased with this grip. Fits the EOS-R perfectly, holds 2 batteries and you are able to charge the unit with the 2 batteries inside while attached to camera. Previous Canon models didn't offer this.

Helpful for balancing larger lenses on your EOS R

Nice build quality and helpful for balancing out a larger lens on an EOS R. It also comes with a charger that allows you to charge two batteries in the grip. At the end of they, however, I quickly concluded that it just wasn't my "cup of tea." First, the shape of the grip seemed to cause my wrist to take on an odd angle while shooting. Second, there's no AA battery tray for those "oh no" moments. Fortunately, with two batteries on board, this won't happen very often!

So glad i got this. Provides a little more heft and grip to my EOS R. Great battery life now. Even with aftermarket batteries. No issues what so ever.

This grip is just like most camera grips in the sense it holds one extra battery for extended use also allows for easier grip while taking portrait photos or vertical photos rather than in landscape format. This grip is for the EOS R.

Definitely appreciate this product. It gives my camera a more comfortable feel and it’s nice to have that extra battery. I would recommend this battery grip for someone who doesn’t always wear a strap for the grip and anyone shooting in long lengths of time period.

Highly recommend. Batteries not included but can find third party batteries which can help extend shooting time significantly. Love the fact that the grip has a shutter button no matter which way you opt to hold the camera. Overall, very comfortable.

When I first picked up the EOS R, I knew I needed an extra grip. Just too small for my hand. With the Grip, it’s perfect.

It makes the battery life way better on the eos r. The batteries are easy to install and remove. It does make the camera a lot bulkier but battery is much better.

Destroyed my camera

I'm pretty sure I got a defective model because I don't hear anyone else talking about this battery grip turning their brand new camera into a brick but that's exactly what happened when I decided to get this battery grip. It worked fine when I first used it but as soon as I set it to charge, my camera fried and it wouldn't turn on. Wouldn't recommend, do you really need a battery grip? For me it's not worth it anymore because I basically paid $450 to have my new EOS R turn into an expensive paper weight. You might have better luck so if you want to take that chance make sure you have a protection plan so you can get your camera fixed.
