The product works fine in both B&W and color. It gives enough pixels for my archival photography. However, with its glass window, I'm afraid it wqill fall and break. Easy to set up and operate.

I wanted a scanner to put old photos in my computer, so I wanted something that would produce clear, exact images of the pictures. This worked beautifully. The price was also very appealing. I highly recommend this scanner.

so far so good, using it to scan docs and pics for business. Easy to use, easy to set up, great product for the price when basic scanning functions are needed.

Works with Vista 64

I have a Canon 1250 that has worked great for years and is still working now on another XP PC. My new Vista 64 PC would not recognize that scanner or it's 32 bit software. The Lide200 installed perfectly and works great - also a wall wart is not needed for power - it is supplied by the USB cable - smart!. I had tried a few software programs to get the Canon to work with Vista but with no success. A small stand is included so that the Lide200 can be mounted and used on its long side - I don't think I will ever use it like that. A few photo management programs are included.

I've only had this scanner for a few weeks but, so far, I'm thoroghly satisfied with the quality of the color scans and particularly the black-and-white text scans. Thus far, I haven't found any thing about this scanner that I don't like.

I entered the chat service, ask the questions I had, got the answers, and ordered the unit. It was received timely, and did everything the chat people told me that it would do.

The only reason I did not give it 5's is because I have not kept up with the scanner market and can not compare it to other models. I can only say I am happy with it and the quality of the scans is good enough for my home use.

The speed would be an issue if I had huge volumes to scan, but I don't, so it isn't.

I got about 1 month of OK scanning from it. Didn't use it for several months, then went back to scan some more. All I get are black vertical lines. When scanning, the original has to be placed inverted (unlike the Epson scanners). You would be better off buying an Epson or HP and spend the extra dollars.
