I bought this lens for my son's high school graduation, and let me tell you it works great. It takes really good pictures at a distance of 200 feet. Good picture quality and has optical image stabilization to reduce the effects of camera shake. Overall I gave it a 5 because it a good product. If you are not sure which lens to buy or if you are a beginner like me, this lens is the answer. Of course there are other lenses out there that do the same, but they cost hundreds more. So if you are not a professional photographer you probably won't need an expensive lens anyway. If you need it only because you are going to take pictures at a party, graduation or family reunion or just for a hobby, this lens is for you. Just remember this lens is not for normal range it is only intended to use at a distance between 55-250mm focal length of zooming. If you are not sure which lens to purchase, check all the reviews first before you commit to buying a one.

This Canon - EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM Telephoto Zoom Lens is lightweight and easy to use. The lens is easy to carry and switching it out is not a problem. The 55mm to 250mm is really a great all-purpose lens that I use many times a day while out for a walk or just fooling around. I do mainly landscape photos so it suits my needs as an all in one lens. The AF works fine but may struggle depending on the subject and distance.

Very Clear images and that added focal length yaya :) - very good price for that range - pop a teleconverter on there and you got 500mm :). Auto focus is a dream compared to 18-135mm lens so fast & noiseless. Focus ring also so easy to turn in comparison to aforementioned lens for manual focus. If you need a filter get that ol' 58mm diameter one and you are good.

Easy to use, auto focus is super quick, beautiful photo quality. I was torn between this or another lens, I returned the other lens and kept this one. Absolutely LOVE this piece.

I have been loving this lens, as I had purchased it for its telephoto properties but am discovering multiple uses for it. It's a great step up from the kit lens (18-55mm) if you think you are interested in a telephoto lens but aren't ready to commit a ton of cash to it yet. I am discovering new uses for this lens every day. It takes wonderful portrait shots as well as great wildlife pictures, though I have noticed the auto focus is a little soft at the furthest distance (which didn't surprise me). This lens even has some decent macro capabilities and is great for basic astrophotography. They say a nifty fifty (50mm) lens is the second lens you should ever purchase, but I'm going to argue that it should be this lens just for the varying things you can use it for. Definitely a great, easy, affordable next step.

Was looking for our first zoom lens for our canon dslr camera we bought last Christmas. We liked this one because the least zoom (55mm) starts where the basic lens stops. Depending on what we are doing, we can sometimes use just the zoom lens without having to change lenses. So far pictures are coming out great at all levels.

Paired this with a Rebel SL3. Got some great long range shots of grizzly bears on the shore and some zoomed in pictures of the moon for some astrophotography.

Was pleasantly surprised by this lens. The picture quality seems to be better than my 18-125 nano USM Kit lens I received when purchasing my canon 80D. We took it to the zoo and got amazing pictures of the animals from a good distance away. Also we got it for 50% off when purchasing our camera in store. Can't beat that! Highly recommend it!

I got my EOS for Christmas in 2017 and love it! However, I love shooting wildlife (i.e. birds in flight, sea lions, etc. and need more zoom power. Yes, this lens doesn't do well in low light situations (like the $1200 kind), but for the money, it does exactly what I wanted it to do. What it does have that other cheep lenses don't is Auto-Stabilization. For outdoor shooting in good light, this thing is awesome.

I bought this lens because I take a lot of pictures of dogs and it's easier to let them run loose while I stand still and zoom them in. Now my pics are coming out super clear and I'm able to get those priceless moments that you can't get when you're having to chase something around
