An excellent and versatile lens ideal for advanced depth of field control and also for low light photography. I love its optical performance. For this price, there is really nothing to complain about.

Given the price you can't ask for more. This new version addresses all the issues with the previous version. Faster, quieter and more accurate focus amd a much better construction. Optics are the same so you still get some flare, but I have learned to predict it so I use it as a creative element when shooting against the light. I also like the softness and the quality of the bokeh. Nice to see the new model being offered at the same price as the previous.

This is an excellent lens. It's very light, but not cheap feeling. It does only have a 1.8 aperature. It's heavier, older sibling has 1.4. I've also used that lens and it's incredible, but doesn't have STM, so it's a trade-off. You can't go wrong for the price!

This lens was purchased to use with a Viltrox EF adapter for Fuji X cameras. I now have a 75mm f1.8 auto focus lens on my Fuji X-T1 camera. This is the better of the two 50mm f1.8 lenses from Canon as it also has a metal camera mount, instead of plastic. Performance wise, it's a great lens not only on my Fuji, but also Canon DSLR's. A great lens for very little money and outstanding picture quality.

This lens has worked wonders for me starting out doing photography. Great lens for beginners or just someone wanting to shoot with no limitations or expectations

This is the best value for money lens that you can find anywhere in the market. I’ve got this for $110 and this is my choice when taking indoor photos in low light. The lens can produce good quality pics with adequate sharpness and the f1.8 will help you in low light photography. And 50mm is a perfect choice for indoor photography.

The Canon 50mm F1.8 lens is phenomenal lens with great optics, it could work with Full-Frame and APS-C sensors. Well built even though its plastic but this time with a metal mount. GREAT LENS FOR GETTING OUT OF YOUR KIT LENS, SHARP, VIVID, AND CHEAP. GO BUY NOW!

I have the both the 50mm 1.4 as well as this new one, and I must say this is definitely lighter but don't let that fool you. It's fast-focusing and captures tack-sharp images on my 70D and 7D MarkII. Love it for portraits!
