Not a bad lens for the price

For the price, it is a pretty good and fairly powerful lens. It's able to zoom in quite far, but you lose all elements of depth in the subject; but that'll happen with most telephoto lenses. Once you figure out the basics, it'll do whatever you need as a beginner or semi-experienced photographer. The lack of an image stabilization feature really restricts you to using a tripod or monopod, but it does take really good pictures if you do. TLDR: It'll work great if you don't mind using a tripod, but if you're looking for more portability, get one with an automatic image stabilizer.

This lens is great when you want to capture things far away and bring them close. You can see all the fine details that you would never be able to see without this lens or you would need binoculars. I've taken animals in the zoo behind glass, and you couldn't tell they were behind glass. I've also taken them behind glass and in a darkened room and you couldn't tell those were my lighting conditions. A must have when you want to capture that far away object/animal, or scenic shot.

Great easy-to-use lense for photo oportunities containg objects five feet or farther in distance from camera. The lense is durable but not excessively heavy which makes toting it around a breeze. Best used with a tri-pod, but can also take beautiful photos when held steadily. Overall great value for the price!

At around $200 this entry lever or starter tele lens is pretty great. It is important to note that getting the most out of this lens really requires a tripod because the Canon Rebel camera motion stabilizers do not really work with this lens. Still it fits easily and seamlessly to the Canon, and it responds quickly, and helps take great images.

This is really a nice lens for the money. I like the zoom on it and most of the features are right on the camera so I don't have to go into the menu very often. My previous lens was the same only it was not a Canon so when I broke it I decided to replace it with another just like it. The Canon was a lot less expensive than the other make I had. When I bought my Canon Rebel, I bought the bundle and it came with the second lens. I would recommend this lens to everyone. It is great for a beginner as well as a seasoned photographer.

I was so happy to find this telephoto lens available for purchase because the one which came with my camera stopped working and this replacement cost much less than a whole new camera. I use a telephoto lens mostly for scenery to bring things closer and still get a crystal clear photo.

I shoot video often with two cameras, mostly indoors, which means I need a zoom lens that not only zooms far but also lets in a lot of light. I was skeptical about the quality of this lens because of the lower aperture (compared to a similar lens that can go as wide open as f/2.8); however, I was pleasantly surprised by the effectiveness of this lens. If you’re looking for a Canon zoom lens that’s cheaper than competitors but gets the job done, this is the one.

I bought this lens to photograph my daughter from a distance at West Point. I have never used a digital camera let alone a lens. I had no problem using this lens and it took great photos. I could zoom in and pick out my daughter with no problem. I would recommend this lens for a beginner due to its ease of use.

The lens produces sharp and clear images, but it takes a little time to find focus. I’m using it with my R7 and it works well overall.

I'm a novice when it comes to DSLRs but I bought this lens because it came with a deal. I've used it a couple of time and its GREAT! I can zoom in 50-75 ft and take crystal clear pictures. You can also use the lens when your 20ft away and get really good close up shots. I'm SOO glad I got this lens with my purchase.

I bought this for a gift for my daughter, she has taken to photography as a hobby and has a great eye for detail. This lens helped her to get some freelance photo jobs at the college she attends and has enhanced her work. The lens is lightweight, easy to use and fit well with a slightly older slr camera. Priced right, it was a good buy.

Cant go wrong with this lens on the T7, its a must have! Now my family and i can take longer range photos at the park, zoos and more. Very nice lens. Only gripe is that's a little bit - you'll need ample storage to hold it. Recommend the BP150 backpack at BB to hold everything.

I bought this product off of a price match from an Amazon guaranteed product. It is phenomenal. Best Buy matched the price and were friendly and helpful. I absolutely love the range this lens gives to my camera. I am not able to take crystal clear close up photos of hummingbirds and other wildlife.

I am a beginner photographer. I bought my first DSLR camera last year. This year I bought this lens for my first telephoto lens. It was a good price for one who doesn't want to spend tons of money on his photography hobby. It works well with the Canon T3i and it takes good telephoto images. Enough said.

I got a great deal on the bundle of this lens and the Rebel XS. The Telephoto lens performs very well, with the large exception that there is no image stabilization. If you think you'll be able to bring a tripod or take your time and take a non-shaky photo, this could be for you. If you need it for action shots, spend the extra couple hundred for image stabilization.
