There are many reviews online already so I will keep this short. I've been using 60d for the past 4 years and this is a big upgrade for me. I love the full frame and the ability to set a lot higher iso in a low lighting situation. I do miss the articulated LCD screen. Is it worth the money? I'd say it depends on how you use it. If you're getting paid shooting pictures or video then go for it. If you're just shooting pictures for fun then you don't want to spend over 2 grands for this camera.

I purchased this camera for portrait photography sessions. The number of focus points makes this camera worth the money. The imagery is beautiful no matter the lens it is paired with. I also love the fact that is has both SD and CF card slots.

After going from a Canon Rebel XS to a Canon Rebel T4i, I felt something was missing and wanted to get a full frame camera. Other friends had the 5D MIII and saw how amazing their photos were with the camera, and after using it I wish I went straight from the XS to the 5D MIII. Some of the limitations are there is no touchscreen ( I can live without it) and the remote shutter for my T4i doesn't fit. I like the ISO range and can push it to 3200 still with a decent image ( not so grainy). I can't wait to use this camera for my daughter's dance recital. All of my lenses are f2.8 so the pics have come out amazing. It's a bit heavier/beefier than the t4I and I added a camera grip to make it easier to hold.

I was using the Cannon 5D before purchasing this camera. The focus on the new camera is faster and more accurate. The original 5D had 7 focus centers and this one has 61! Picture quality is very important to me. I recently shot some night time photos using the auto ISO feature and the camera shifted to a high ISO, with a minimal amount of noise, and the photos were very high quality.

Easy to go from the Mark 11 as it's very similar. The motor drive is faster and a lot more focusing points. Shooting at Higher ISO's is amazing!

I love this camera! Full frame, easy to operate! It delivers way more than I ask for, and the photos are amazing. I make all my camera-related purchases through Best Buy!

Honestly you can't go wrong with the 5d mark iii. This camera continues to be sold even though the mark iv has been released. It is a great alternative and if you are like myself and wanted something fantastic on a bit more of a budget, this is the camera for you. I spent a lot of time with the staff reviewing several different cameras in store and everyone was super helpful and patient with me while I asked questions and tested the products. In the end, I chose the mark iii and I'm glad I did, I've taken a lot of great photos so far and am extremely pleased.
I am very happy with the purchase of this camera. It was an upgrade from a 7D. Main reason for the upgrade was that i wanted a FF camera and most importantly i needed as much help with noise as possible since i seem to get wedding gigs at low lighting churches. This camera has exceeded my expectations. Im very confident i can now shoot in any lighting environment since this camera gets very low noise even at 6400 iso. Obviously you are going to get some noise but it is very easy to clean up. I can now also shoot at higher shutter speeds and freeze the action when need be. and YES YOU CAN put the Eye-Fi ProX2 card and DO NOT need wifi to transfer your pics from the camera to your iphone/ipad. Works flawlessly. I was told you cant from the people that work there but obviously they need more training.

The 5D MkIII is one of the flagship cameras from Canon and the build quality is reflected in the status if the company. It is a rugged piece of equipment that can be used without worry of becoming broken by moderate bangs and bumps. It is a metal frame covered in poly-carbonate which stands up to quite the beating. It has two different styles of memory card slots and although I don't use the Compact Flash card slot I have that option if needed. Controls are laid out in a way that make them easy to reach when holding the camera comfortably. They also follow the rest of the Canon line to some degree so finding an item isn't that hard if you are transitioning from an older model or one that is not as advanced. It is a bit pricey but well worth the money if you are serious about photography or would just like some of the fancy features that aren't on some of their other models. Sometimes it's just the users preference and how or what they are taking photos of in their life.

This camera is great for shooting in low light. I am not a professional, but my photos always come out with professional quality.

I recently purchased this camera to upgrade my photos and so far it is working very well. There are numerous features for this camera so it does take some time to learn. My photos are crisp and clean. Right now, I am stuck on the long exposure shots and so far I am amazed. This is definitely a great camera for professional photos and videos. I would definitely recommend!

Great camera. Bought the body only about 7 weeks ago, and have been putting it through its paces. Currently owned the canon 50d as well. Must admit that this camera is a big step up in features, quality and performance over the 50d. Picture quality is excellent as well. Will be buying the canon 50mm 1.2 lense to mate to this body soon. No regrets.

Hello! I'm a BFA major and my concentration is photography! I mainly have been shooting film portraits but for years I've been saving to buy the 5dmii because let's face it. Film is a dying breed and for professional commissions is too expensive. Anywho! The 5dmiii came out and after lots of research I made the purchase a month ago. I got it for a great price body only and with the extra money I saved I or the 2 year geek squad protection which I love about buying from BB. The quality is amazing when paired with a good lens but even the 50mm 1.4 canon lens is great with this body! Planning on buying the 1.4 though :) the ease of use is really easy for me being used to canons but still requires a lot of reading the manual! Never will regret this purchase.

I was looking to upgrade from my trusty rebel t3i of 3 years to a full frame professional dslr. I got into wedding photography and I needed something that would preform well under low light situations because my T3i wasn't cutting it anymore. I oringally planned on getting the 5Dmkii but I read reviews of the autofocus being a problem. That's when I decided to pay a little more for the mkiii and I am glad I did. This camera performs extremely well under low lighting and the autofocus hasn't been an issue. This body paired with the canon 24-70mm 2.8 makes an amazing combo. I wish I made this purchase a lot sooner, if you are a serious photographer, the investment is well worth it.

The 5D Mark III is a joy to work with in both still photography and HD video. The Video capabilities are endless and to be able to pause the camera after 29 minutes and quickly resume recording, changed my attitude about shooting wedding ceremonies or events that exceed 2 hours. There are many Cinematic lenses available by Rokinon that give beautiful results when recording using a RIG.

I am so obsessed with this camera. I got it, then decided to test the Nikon equivalent out, and then realized how awesome this camera was and switched back to it for good. Never switching to Nikon. This camera has it all and it's so easy to use.
