    Fantastic and intuitive starter camera

I had been previously using my smartphone for basic photography but quickly realized its limitations. Purchasing a dedicated DSLR felt like an obvious next step, but there are many cameras to choose from. My primary concern was finding a camera with capabilities that would allow me to learn new photography techniques without being too intimidating or limited. The Rebel T6 fit my needs perfectly. Even with the lens attached, the T6 is surprisingly lightweight and compact. When it is being carried in a camera bag it feels almost weightless. The design is very similar to the other Rebel models so there aren't surprises with it. One notable feature on this T6 model is the inclusion of WiFi functionality. It's a bit difficult to setup (Requiring the desktop Canon app) but it works and even integrates with several social media platforms so pictures can be posted directly from the camera. I've found the most useful function is the ability to pair the camera with a smartphone to easily transfer pictures and shoot remotely. Part of the reason I enjoy the camera so much is that it feels like it is designed to teach as it is being used. While it is easier to leave the camera on one of the automatic presets, I've actually had more fun tinkering in the manual modes. The interface is surprisingly intuitive without compromising the performance or limiting user control. A "feature guide", as the settings menu describes it, displays a short description of how each setting affects the picture (The aperture setting, for example, explains how the value set creates a depth of field) which has made the camera a lot easier to become accustomed to. As for the image quality, it's fantastic and what you would expect from a model in Canon's flagship camera line. I've taken several portrait stills for a film project and the images all look stunning and lively. The included lens is a great starter and has been able to capture everything from macro pictures of flowers to stunning waterfalls. The built-in ability to capture RAW images is an invaluable feature, and with a bit of color correction in Photoshop, the image quality can rival far more expensive cameras. I only have a few complaints about the camera, mainly that a few settings and features need to be tweaked for optimal performance. I found the default setting for the autofocus was unbearably slow but that the camera had several much faster modes built-in. The flash is also really harsh but that is easily solved with external lighting or a diffuser. Overall, I'd say this is the perfect camera for new photographers to pick up. It has many easy-to-use features while offering more advanced settings for better image control.

This is a pretty good camera for the money. Pros: Clear pictures with ability to shoot in jpeg or RAW Able to sync to a smart phone for remote shooting, so that the photographer can be included in the picture with famliy Canon support, able to use either Canon's EF-S or EF lens' Cons: No flip screen for live view vlogging. WiFi app does not allow for video use only for camera. Not weather resistant, this is not a sealed body and temperature range limits ability to take outdoor photos in weather below 32F. Kits lens is ok 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 is not a fast lens but with good lighting it will take great pictures. Overall this is a great camera it you want to get into DSLR usage without breaking the bank and just enough functions beyond a point and shoot to help learn about taking great photos instead of just snap shots, without being overwhelmed with all the features a pro camera offers. Although it is not the gear that makes a great photographer.

When it comes to DSLRs, there are really only two names you should consider: Canon and Nikon. Both have been making quality products for many years. With this Canon model, it's no different. It offers many of the functions of a much higher priced DSLR, but you sacrifice a few key features for the savings -- one being the ability to record video at 1080p resolution at 60 frames a second. Not necessarily a dealbreaker for most, but a key feature. You can, however, record 60fps at 720p resolution. The LCD is also not movable as it is on higher end models. That said, you do get a lot for your money. You can import pictures directly from the camera via Wi-Fi and a smartphone app. You have access to all Canon EF style lenses. You get fantastic battery life. You can also tweak manual settings to get the results you desire. This camera is by no means a perfect solution to all your photo/video needs, but it is a great starter camera or hobbyist camera for someone who is not looking for the full package (and to spend upwards of $700).

This is my first DSLR I have ever bought. I have been shooting film for 10+ years. I am truly happy with my purchase. Still has that 35mm feel. One thing I noticed is you have to go one stop down sometimes when shooting manually to get the correct exposure, but that’s no big deal for me. The rest of the settings are great, and the camera captures the true colors and light of the situation. I’ve seen some other cameras (Fuji, Nikon) that exaggerate the colors. This camera does not do this. The quality of the images are also amazing. It also does really well in low light situations. The image stabilizer allows you to get low light shots i never thought i would get.

I have had this camera for some months now and can say I really enjoy using it. The pictures come out great. I shoot in manual mode and mostly raw. I do photography as a hobby and really like the quality of the pictures. It is very light which makes it easy to take it with me when I go out. I mostly use the 50 mm f1.8 canon lens to get the bokeh seen in the images I uploaded. These are raw and unedited. Straight from the camera! Only thing I wish is that the battery lasted a little longer but for the price you can’t go wrong.

Before I purchased this camera, I had been playing around with my friend's camera. She uses a Nikon D3400. I decided to go with this camera since I didn't have the money for the Nikon, so after research I gave this a try. After shooting in auto for a couple of days, I was very disappointed in the camera until I decided to shoot in manual and RAW. Long story short, this camera is great if the person using it can learn how to use it, but it is a good camera to learn on. As far as lenses, I would invest in something besides the 18-55 mm lens. I do a lot of close ups, so I actually like the lens if I need to get right in front of my subject. Overall, good camera. Reasonable price, and has potential to be a good camera as long as you are controlling it

This Camera is Awesome! I originally had the Rebel T5 - I got it a few years ago. My son dropped it on accident and broke it :( - so I grabbed this T6 Bundle Pack While it was on sale. Was very happy with it - It is better than my T5 and I also got it for about half the price that I paid for the T5 about 4 years ago. I also grabbed the 3 year insurance plan. These cameras are great - they can get banged around pretty good and still work. But depending on how and where you drop it - they might not work right again and to fix them they start off at like 325.00 and up - so you might want to think about protecting the investment you paid for the camera.

This is my very first DSLR camera and I am very happy with it! It has so many great features that are actually useful and takes excellent quality photos. My first few shots were amazing they look like they were taken by a professional. As suggested by the Best Buy store representative, I purchased the camera separately instead of the package so I can get a better lens with a stabilizer feature for only $100 more as opposed to the one included in the package. Great camera for the price.

While the Nikon D3400 is rated as a better product by most major review sites, I believe it is slightly overrated and the Canon Rebel T6 is slightly underrated. The Nikon D3400 is probably the better camera due to specs, but the Rebel T6 holds its own far more than most of the reviews would lead you to believe. Even though it sports an older image sensor compared to the Nikon, I really was impressed with the capture speeds, lens quality, image quality and the wide range of Canon accessories. Battery life was also far superior to what I was led to believe. This makes a fine starter DSLR regardless of the reviews.

I've relied primarily on my phone camera for the past few years and decided it was time to move up to a real camera. I went with the Canon because I had a 35mm years ago and still had a few lenses for it. I'm very pleased with the pictures this camera takes, even though I'm still using the auto setting. I particularly like that I t pairs with my iPhone so that I can use the phone as a remote and a view screen. The only thing I feel is missing, is a selection of filters on the camera itself. Overall, I enthusiastically recommend this camera to anyone who is ready to make the step up from their phone, to a real camera.

Bought for my daughter who wants to get into digital photography above the capabilities of a smart phone camera. This product is easy to use, lighter weight than more sophisticated higher end cameras. Takes a nice picture with automatic settings and has enough features to help her learn. For a non-professional photographer or a beginning professional to be, this camera does the job at a reasonable price.

The Canon T6 works wonders. Sharp and vibrant photography even with the kit lens, and very good 1080p movie quality. Generally pretty weak in low light but with the right lighting support you can get a decent image. Very good for youtubers/vloggers (minus audio quality in uncontrolled locations, just pick up an external mic). Very good for shooters trying to pick something up that's inexpensive and portable to get experience.

I did a lot of research before deciding to buy this camera and am thrilled with my decision! The image quality is crisp, vibrant and sharp. I also love the WiFi capabilities to use the Canon app for taking photos, making adjustments to the settings and transferring photos to my phone. The Rebel T6 is versatile for a wide range of photography projects including portraits, landscapes and in low-light. The manual focus functions allow me to be more creative - and the camera works perfectly with the long-range lens from my film SLR.

Love this camera! have been using rebels for 7 years. This is an upgrade from my rebel XS, which is still a great camera and still functioning. I will hand it down to my kids. It is a great all purpose camera, great size for vacations, holidays, family events! Fits in my purse (kinda big purse)...I take it everywhere. I even do a little bit of portrait shoots for family and friends. Husband wanted me to get pro level Canon, but they were too heavy for me to carry around for everyday use. Great camera for my price range and usage.

I’m have a live for taking pictures so when my sons football team needed a team photographer that gave me motivation to make this purchase. My friend bought the same camera a couple of years ago but received 2 lenses vs 1. Other than not having the extra lense, i feel that is was a good purchase for the price. Nice crisp pictures and the cannon app makes it easy to download to a phone or tablet.

My wife and I are complete novices to photography. Aside from taking many photos on our smartphone, neither of us have really any experience with cameras. This camera is wonderful. We mainly follow our dogs around and shoot photos of them and the image quality has exceeded expectations. I was back and forth between this and the rebel t5 and I am glad I chose this one as I have found the Android app very handy so far.

I wish I would have returned it. I was hoping it could do more than I suspected. It doesn't take good pictures in low light or with any movement. It's kind of noisy and for the price it should have come with a bag. I knew it didn't but it should be included for the price. Pictures with good light come out okay but I could use my cell phone and they would turn out the same.

I love this camera so much and I have it with me all the time but I only gave it four stars for two reasons; I had to exchange the first one I purchased because, right out of the box, the battery wouldn't charge so I had to take back and second, I sometimes have issues uploading the pictures to my computer. But aside from that it has all the settings a beginner would need and it's ideal for travel because it's lightweight and the lends isn't big.

This camera replaces a very old EOS film camera, I already had a 50 mm and 70-210 mm lens that are of very high quality so sticking with the Canon made sense to me since the old lenses work on the new camera even though I have no use for the 50mm anymore as the included lens covers that. Even my bad pics look incredible on this camera. Easy to use, battery life is good and I took over 400 pics on one charge and one 32gig card.
