While this camcorder is slightly on the heavy side, the weight is but a minor setback when it comes to all of the other features. This camera has a great XLR interface which is good for connecting external microphones (like for closeups or interviews). This camera also works very well with many different software programs such as the two that I mainly use: Sony Vegas Pro and Adobe. I particularly like the fact that this camcorder has a large LCD screen and a Viewfinder for use even outside when LCD screens can be difficult to view. I was unimpressed with the fact that this camera lacks a hard drive and that the only two recording options are mini DV tapes or an SD card. All cons aside, this is a purchase that I will not regret and seemingly one that keeps-on for many more years to come. This is a great quality camcorder that I have used for many things from home movies, to taping shows professionally and I highly recomend it to all who would consider this purchase.

The camera itself has exceeded all expectations. From what you read about the camcorder holds true. However, if you decide to buy external mics - price range between 200-500, expect some hissing/bzz'ing sounds - and by external mics I mean shotgun/lav mics. It seems the preamps (internal camcorder mic amplifiers) produce the noise when connected to less then worthy xlr mics. This seems to be the case for most "prosumer" camcorders. Suggestions: After the purchase, an investment in a portable audio mixer would suffice. It would/should get rid of un-needed noises.

If you like Blu-Ray or HD DVDS then you'll like this thing. It has the best picture out of any video camera we've ever used.

Wonderful, high level camcorder. Excellent sound features, pictures defy description. Cannot say enough about how great this camera is. One cannot go wrong, if you are into high quaility video.

This camcorder has such great picture that it can be compared to blu-ray!

I'm not one to judge something i directly do not own, but i will say this, i have used this camera to record short films for my filming class and also for weddings and my own personal online shows. The camera is slightly heavy but it is very manuevarable and fancy looking. Eye appealing, you'll feel like a director as soon as it touches your hand, it brings out the artistic mind in anyone and basically anything that gets recorded becomes a beautiful sight for many years to come. Very Great, Very Expensive, and Very easy to use :]

it just rocks i think this camera should not be sold out though. my friend has one and i used it and loved it. so i want to get one
