Very Fast, duplex print & scan, easy on ink

More than I could have hoped for at this price point. Much better than the HP and Epson models in my opinion. I’ve owned 2 or 3 of each and this latest Canon is the best of the bunch. Some people want a larger or second paper cassette, but if that’s what you need, Canon sells that feature set in the next model up. I don’t, so I’m happy they don’t make me pay for that. I also love the compact size. Duplex single pass scanning is very fast!!! WiFi print is faster than most. The ink is very clear and very durable. So far, I’ve printed over 1000 pages of mixed documents, web, business types, and the 3 colors are between 60-70% full, black is about 50%. For pure photo prints, I use a Canon Pro100.

Fast start up and prints quality documents. The paper tray sticks out the front. The output tray is not automatic and will need to be extended if you do not want your documents thrown. The ADF works great. It beeps to signal when loaded taking out the guess work.

I am very pleased with our new Canon printer. This is the first Canon I have purchased and it works great. The processing speed is very fast, prints are very clear, and all of the features work very well. I would definitely buy Canon again.

    Will not print borderless photos!

It performs all other functions well but will not print borderless photos. I just confirmed this with the Canon people and they said I should have bought a photo printer. Duh! Had I known this ahead of time I would have. I previously owned a MX882 multifunction printer which printed borderless photos in addition to doing print/fax/scan/copy functions, but the waste ink receptacle was filling up with no inexpensive way to change it, so I looked for a faster printer to replace it. What a revolting development to find that this one does everything except borderless photo printing, and you cannot find this disclosed in any of the Canon Literature. If they add this feature, then I will change the review rating. Otherwise, it's a multifunction printer that doesn't perform all the functions for me. It should have been disclosed.

i am very satisfied with this printer so far. The speed is fast, only 2 sheets per second slower than a Laser printer. Color is excellent. Over all very pleased! Works perfect for my business!

    Online order arrived broken, inoperable

I ordered online, waited for weeks & weeks for it to arrive. Opened box and started set up which failed on a couple levels. Required call to service which said the printer cannot be repaired. They are sending a replacement. Could be weeks & weeks & weeks more to get replacement. Poor service all around.

The tech writers buried an important step

The tech writers at Canon buried an important installation step. After you do the initial setup (removing packaging and protective plastic and inserting the ink cartridges), be sure to add the printer to your wireless network before you connect the printer to your computer. On the touchscreen, scroll to the left to access the LAN settings and enter the password for your wireless network. After that, the procedure that Canon published goes smoothly.
