Customers are saying
Customers regard the PIXMA MegaTank G7020's print quality and ease of use very favorably, with many praising its sharp prints and straightforward setup. The wireless functionality and compact size are also frequently cited as positive aspects. However, some users find the small, unlit display and control panel challenging to use, and a few note that the printer can be somewhat noisy during operation.

Almost 5 stars
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the printer- it's quiet and prints fast. The ink was easy to install and everything I printed looked very good. I would have given it five stars except for the user interface screen, small and no backlight. I have to agree with the other reviews. It is a little annoying to keep a flashlight next to the printer to see the screen.

Best value I could get for ink savings
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the key highlights of the PIXMA G7020 is its MegaTank ink system, which utilizes refillable ink tanks instead of traditional cartridges. This system significantly reduces the cost per page, making it highly cost-effective for users with high-volume printing needs. The large ink tanks can hold an ample amount of ink, allowing you to print thousands of pages before needing to refill, which is a game-changer for users tired of frequent cartridge replacements. Overall, the Canon PIXMA MegaTank G7020 Wireless All-In-One Inkjet Printer is an excellent option for users who prioritize cost-effective, high-volume printing and require fax capability. Its MegaTank ink system sets it apart from traditional cartridge-based printers, delivering significant cost savings over time. While it may not be the fastest printer on the market, its print quality and wireless functionality make it a reliable workhorse for various printing needs.

Great printer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this printer because like many I was tired of having to replace the expensive ink cartridges on our old printer more often than should have been necessary. Setup was easy. We have no problems printing or scanning with Apple devices and Windows. The print quality is great.

Perfect for home office
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great printer for a home office. It was so easy to set up and easier to use. The wifi print option is a time saver, especially when printing from a phone or tablet. The only con I can come up with is that it is a little noisy, but nothing bothersome.

Worth the upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer is great. I upgraded from a Canon pixma 240 printer and do not regret it. There is a ton of ink. It came with two extra bottles of black ink. There is scanning, paper storage, and wireless printing. I have not tried printing a photo yet, but I have heard good things about the photo quality. Print quality for normal printing is fast and accurate. This printer will save me time and money in the long run.

One small issue keeps me from giving it 5 stars
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased because it didn't require a subscription like some other manufacturers. I mostly print documents so I didn't need a anything special. The printer is fast, quiet, and prints accurately. My only pet peeve is that the printer doesn't wake from sleep without actually pushing a button on the printer. So if I want to remote print, I can't. Also, the small, tiny screen makes setup a challenge. But overall it is a good reliable printer.

Not bad, but not good.
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this printer in September 2021 because our old multifunction printer had failed and, mid-pandemic, our home office needed a printer. This was the only multi-function, cartridge-less "tank" printer that was left in the store or online. I like the "MegaTank" concept that does away with spendy cartridges. It's better for the environment and better for the wallet. Tank printers are more expensive than non-tank printers that require print cartridges, but that price difference is quickly paid for by the cash savings you get from not needing to buy cartridges and the time savings from not needing to run out and buy cartridges because you are on a tight deadline and ran out of ink. The G7020 produces a crisp, clean copy, good scans, has a reasonably large paper cassette, and hasn't jammed on us in the nine months we've had it. All good points in its favor. Unfortunately, my tech-savvy wife hates the on-printer user interface and has difficulty reading its tiny LCD screen. (You'd think, for over $300, Canon could have included a larger, backlit display, not this tiny low-res monstrosity.) She also finds the scanner software Canon provided to be sub-par. I thought the on-printer user interface was lame, too, but didn't have problems with the tiny LCD screen. What really disappointed me is Canon claimed the printer supports cloud print functionality but depended on Google Cloud Print for their solution. Google discontinued Cloud Print at the end of the year, four months after we bought the printer. We use cloud print at home because our home has two networks, one for us and one for guests, and many IoT devices ranging from TV sets to smart home light switches. We need cloud print so our guests can print stuff and for these times when one of us connects to the less-secure network. So we went out and got a different cartridge-free tank multifunction printer last week. It's smaller, quieter, and it's white, which works in our home decor better, and my wife likes the user interface, larger display, and manufacturer scanner software. I like being able to print from both networks when I have to. So, I guess you could say we were just barely OK with the Canon G7020, but never happy with it. We'll sell it on Craigslist or give it to family. After all, it produces great printouts.

Mostly liked it.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Plus: Easy to set up and connect wirelessly, easy to load ink--no messing with aligning cartridges. Copies are clear with good color. Scanning worked well. Prints two-sided well (haven't tried copy feature for that). Looking forward to savings on ink in future. Minus: It's not that fast. Recommendation: If you're in for the long-term, ink savings make this a good choice. If you need speed and don't mind overpaying for ink and changing your cartridges often, you might look elsewhere. It's pretty clear that all the printer manufacturers will sell ink-gobbling printers as a loss-leader in order to make more money selling ink, so do a cost-benefit analysis before spending less on a cartridge-type printer.

Canon G7020
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works exactly as described. Bought and returned a similar Epson Ink-tank printer because the colors, especially in photos, were dull and washed out. No problem with colors in this printer. Easy set up. Good buy. So far, the Mega Tanks look great! We'll see as I get to a couple of thousand pages!

The tail of 2 computer setups
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace an HP8710. The Canon was easy to unbox, fill the ink tanks and power up. I have 2 computers, a Mac and a PC. with the Mac I went to the Canon website, downloaded the software and got started printing. The PC was another story. More involved and temperamental, maybe the Canon has difficulty shifting gears from the Mac to the PC. I’ll keep working on it and report later. Overall the print quality is good and fairly fast. The printer takes about 30 seconds to start the first page then pages roll off quickly after that.

Cannon printer G7020 Assement
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm going to be honest here and give an unbiased rating. I have had my fair share of printers... I have the Epson 15000, Epson 8550, BrotherJ5855JW, Brother LaserJet, HP printers (3), and even 2 Officejet portable printers. This ranks third from the bottom. This is not a printer for those who are not tech savvy because it has issues that might exceed your know-how to fix. The main issue I have with this printer is 1. For the amount you pay it should have a touch screen that is easy to read.. with tax this thing runs close to 400 dollars and it has a basic screen up front that you have to use buttons to move around with. 2. It does not go into stand-by.. meaning you have to turn the printer on every time you want to use it unless it has been not too long since you last used it. For those who like to leave theirs alone for extended periods and know it is just waiting for a command to print the next paper this will disappoint you. 3. If the screen you see with the buttons is titled out at a 45-degree angle it will not work. You must tilt the screen out for it to work. 4. It needs warm-up time.. if you forget to turn it on before you print you could be waiting up to 5 minutes for the thing to print a page.. it will display printing on the screen but as nothing happens for about 5 minutes then it will print.. if you like to just print and go this will give you issues. 5. It does not have high-speed printing.. for the amount this thing costs you would think it would spit out pages like a demon...umm nope.. it just prints at the same speed as any other printer I am aware of. The only pro I have been able to find so far is it comes with lots of ink and it seems to print nicely on photo paper... Because Cannon has such a great reputation for photos and stuff people will buy this (like me) expecting much from this printer. I am not saying you shouldn't but this printer I have only given you the facts about this so you can make an informed decision But I can say that after having over 15 printers from different brands the price of the printer seems to not match the expectations. the things they need to address 1. Printer can enter standby mode indefinitely waiting for a print command 2. Don't need to tilt the display to use the printer.. mine is on a shelf equal to my eyes so I have to get on a stool to see what is happening when I tilt the display 3. For this much money HAVE A TOUCH SCREEN

Awesome Ink Capacity
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Canon Pixma MegaTank G7020 All-In-One Inkjet Printer to replace my older traditional expensive cartridge All-In-One Inkjet from another manufacturer that threw a gear. I had been looking at the Tank Printers for a while, and this gave me the chance to make the switch. The Canon came with one bottle of each Magenta, Cyan and Yellow ink and three bottles of Black Ink. Each Black Ink is at least twice the amount of the other three colors, so you start off with a lot of ink. The Ink system is actually a Black and a Tri-Color print cartridge system that feeds from the four Ink-Tanks as needed via internal tubing. If you follow the instructions, filling the Ink Tanks is easy as there was no leaking or spilling of ink during the filling process. Linking the printer with my Arris Modem WiFi Router was easy, and it connected the first time. I've read other reviews where people reported having trouble linking the printer to their WiFi systems, so you may have issues with your setup that I did not. Make sure you download the Canon Software for the printer onto your Computer, so you can really utilize all the functions of the printer. So far, I am enjoying the printer. The only downside to this printer that I have found so far, is the Two-Line LCD Screen. It is small, and hard to read because it does not have a built in Back-light. I would recommend seriously considering this printer to friends and family if they are looking for a new printer.

Solid printer - just a bit slower than I'd like
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a Canon printer fan for a number of years. But this printer disappointed me a bit. Only because I was used to a faster printer in my old Canon (can't recall the model now) . Other than that, I love the tank design, its efficient use of ink, and the excellent quality of the printed page! Overall, I would still recommend this printer.

The best for the money
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had my old printer for 15 years so there was a learning curve for me on this printer. I found the manual online so that has helped me do the tasks I need to do and I'm sure it will become second nature eventually after I learn all the ins and outs. So far I like the printer. I have sent a couple of faxes with it and it was easy and have done quite a bit of copies so far. They come out clear.

Decent
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like that I don't run out of ink so fast but I have 3 disappointments with this printer. 1. The LCD display doesn't light up. I can't see what it's telling me. Its very difficult to read the instructions when I want to make changes to the printing methods. The glass reflects things in the room because it's not lit up, making it difficult to read. 2. The Operation Panel needs to be in the "upright" position in order for it to print. 3. The printer needs to be "On", whereas my other printer (another brand) would come on automatically if I didn't physically turn it on first. I could be at my computer if I needed to print something without physically turning it on, it would come on automatically. I don't like keeping the Operation Panel in the up position because it can be bumped into and damage the printer. And I hate that I have to get up to turn on the printer if I decide to print something. Call me lazy IDC! I don't have the convenience of having the printer right next to my computer. I have to remember to turn on my printer before using my computer even if I don't print anything. Overall it is a nice printer. It does all that I need besides what I mentioned.
