Customers regard the PowerShot G7 X 20.2-Megapixel Digital Camera highly for its impressive image quality, ease of use, and compact size, frequently praising the flip screen and autofocus capabilities. Many appreciate its value for the price. However, a common criticism centers around the camera's relatively short battery life.

1 Inch Sensor Compact Camera

This Canon G7X surpasses my expectations. The new & larger 1 Inch Sensor is amazing. It is a great update from the S100. Similar controls and usability. Its a heavier camera but I don't mind it too much. It would have been nice if the flash was adjustable to bounce off the ceiling but its stationary to fire at front only. New star modes are great for star trails.

For a comparable price, the Sony A5100 is a better camera. The A5100 has a battery percentage on the display and also mins left on the memory that the Canon does not. This canon also has a terrible battery in comparison to the Sony. If you are taking video with this Canon, you will want to get a spare battery. The video quality is good on this camera and the flip up display is a nice feature. One thing that I prefer on this camera compared to the Sony A5100, is the sony does overheat while shooting long videos when I never experienced this issue with the Canon.

This Canon was the first point-and-shoot I've purchased in a long time, typically switching between my iPhone and a digital SLR. The G7 X is a perfect middle ground with enough manual functions and range for me to feel comfortable leaving my SLR and clunky lenses at home, and small enough to carry around so my phone stays in my pocket. Image quality is great for the size of the camera, wifi makes loading photos a breeze (after dealing with downloading the apps and software), and the build is as solid as can be. Only issue I have had is that the battery life is shorter than most other cameras in this range.

I was looking for a compact point-and-shoot to replace my Canon S100. The choice came down to the G7x vs. the Sony S100 III. In the end, the superior lens and cheaper price made me go with the G7x. I am extremely happy with this camera so far. It was a long time coming for Canon to finally release a high-end, large sensor point-and-shoot, and the G7x does not fail to disappoint.

I was looking at various camera options that provided good image quality while maintaining portability. The Sony A5100 was a strong contender with it's APS-C sensor though the kit lenses were slower than I would like. The Sony RX100 M2 and M3 were also contenders though you had to compromise on the lens speed or the zoom range. I ultimately went with the Canon due to the lens specification and price point. So far, the pictures have turned out nicely.

This camera is not just for amateurs at all although it would be perfectly awesome to have as a first camera. We have the 5D Mark III, the 70D Video Creator Kit, the Rebel SL1, 3 PowerShot point and shoots including this new one and a boat-load of Canon lenses, everything working fine!! The G7 X is a great quality camera you should have with you at all times no matter what happens in your day you can capture wonderful moments, great video and awesome sound through the amazing mic!

I love this camera! I have only had it a few weeks, but the auto focus is fast. I have had the G10 (which I LOVED for years), G12, and G15 (which I did NOT like). I don't love the pop up flash, but it does expose the pictures properly, no over exposures, like the G15 always did... but remember to put the flash up, you have to do it manually, even if the camera calls for the flash, if you don't have it up it can't go off. I don't know how to put this, but this camera feels nice and sturdy, not cheap and "plastic-y". The "touch the screen" focus will take some time to get used to, as I seem to bump it here and there. Smaller than my previous G models, and that is a definite bonus. Overall, I am glad I bought it! Worth the money.

I got G7X to replace my S110 and couldn't be happier. The PQ difference is huge. Only thing is miss is pocketability. Wish it was little smaller. I would recommend for the picture quality, but if you are looking for something that will fit in your jeans pocket, take a look at Sony RX100 series.

Just got the G7X before our vacation. Have been using it for a few days now and I really like it. It's not a light-delicate camera. It feels good in the hand. Takes very nice photos and video. Absolutely love the ability to WiFi sync photos to my iPad (using the Canon free app).

I LOVE this camera! The auto focus is excellent along with the ISO. The light sensitivity is amazing and the zoom is great- it doesn't make things super blurry when you zoom in. Great for vlogging too. Just an awesome camera!

Bought this camera to take with me on vacation so I wouldn't have to carry my Canon 5d Mark III all around. Took great pictures, love that it does raw files. Would recommend this camera to everyone.

I already have a large camera, but wanted a smaller one so I can take it on trips. The pop up screen is perfect, especially when I want to be in the picture too! It''s also user friendly & takes awesome quality pictures.

I chose this camera because so many YouTubers use it for their vlogs. I finally decided to purchase it since I've seen and heard many good things. It turned out to be exactly what I wanted! I am very happy with how easy it is to use, since I am definitely a beginner. Can't see myself going with anything else!

This is a great camera to carry when you don't want to lug around a big SLR. You can go full automatic or full manual which give you ability to customize your shots much more than a standard point and shoot and really puts them to shame. The large aperture and 1" sensor is really good for low light pictures. I'm still getting used the menu control, but the are lots of settings for specific shot types. I compared this to the Sony RX100-3, and chose the Canon because it has a better zoom, I didn't care about the pop up view finder and it was $200 less.

the G7x is a great camera the only thing i don't like about it is the terrible built in mic makes a constant hissing noise the cannon auto focus is a great feture for any vlogger or new person to making video or pictures great point and shoot the only other bad this is the loud annoying click on the manual zoom dial
