I brought this camera because I really wanted great pics for my Machu Picchu trip. Pictures came out amazing, definitely better than your average camera. The only down part of that I have not figured out how to take videos and pictures at the same time, so it might be more complicated that I thought. Also, flash is a bit tricky because you have to physically lift it to use the flash, not automatically. Love this camera.

I bought this because the low-light problems I find in my iPhone 6s. Not to mention because it is very pocketable. Battery life is very good as well. I bought an extra battery and I very rarely have to replace it.

I have a great dslr camera but when we are on road trips in the Vette or on the bike, I wanted something smaller but did not want to sacrifice picture quality. I LOVE this little camera! The pictures are crisp and bright. Only a 3X zoom, but the pictures are so clear, I can digitally zoom when needed and the pics are awesome.

    Best Canon Pocket Camera Today

The Canon Powershot G9x is Canon's best "pocketable" camera to date! Image quality is high, with the 1 inch sensor. Digital noise is low through ISO 800. Focus is fairly speedy, especially in good light, to catch kids and pets. Battery life is decent, though I would advise you to carry a spare battery. Movie quality is decent also. The value for what you get, compared to it's rival brands, is good. Give this camera a try, I think you'll like it ☺

I have an ILC I use when traveling, but wanted something smaller and pocketable. I used to have the Canon S series, but that line had gone away. I tried the G7 X, bought found it too bulky that I couldn't justify it over my ILC or a Sony RX100. With the G9 X, it brings back the S series' form factor, but with a great design and better sensor. I've found this to be a great travel pocket camera that complements my larger camera nicely for times where I don't want to carry a camera bag, and definitely is easier to tote than the more bulky Sony RX100 line.

Love the large sensor on this camera. Takes great bokeh shots. USB charging is a plus since I won't need to carry a standalone charger around. NFC and app support is great for instant uploads to social media. Wish it was a longer zoom.

I travel by motorcycle and wanted a camera with lots of control and features, but in a small package. The Cannon is perfect for the job. Better image quality than a smart phone, tons of flexibility and it fits in my shirt pocket. Nice overall design, too. Not inexpensive, but worth the price.

Great camera - glad I bought it. Very high quality pictures. I do miss the lack of viewfinder, though. I like to take very distant bird photos then zoom in to do ID. Without viewfinder this is hard to do, though when I do manage to photograph a bird using screen the results are still good. Biggest objection is lack of a written guide to the camera. It was a hassle to get online manual, and still don't know how to use many functions.

Bought for my wife who LOVES the "retro" look, not to mention great quality images. Best camera ounce for ounce. Read quite a few reviews before deciding and am very happy that I chose this model over even some of the more expensive options. Buy it, you won't be disappointed. This is coming from a long-time Canon PowerShot user.

It is an excellent compact camera. Easy to use with touch functions. Shoot well under low light. Zooming is excellent. Battery life is average. Advanced shooting modes (hybrid) are cool but require some cares when in use. Macro mode is not as closed up as it should. Missing the Panoramic mode. Overall it is a great compact camera with more photography functions than you ever need.

My old canon camera were S90 and S110 that I dropped and both are broken. It needs something to protect flasher, open lens, others from break. The strap from camera needs to have tighten around the wrist. Overall, I love Canon camera.

This is by far the best point and shoot camera I have ever owned. I've only used it a few times so far, but find myself taking more pictures because it is easy to take more pictures in a shorter period of time than what I am used to and gives me a better chance of getting some really great shots especially of my active 3 and 2 year olds
