This is my third Canon camera that I've owned. However I have a perchance of losing them. I've owned an SX260, SX280 and now an SX610. Needless to say, I like them!! The SX610's pictures and videos are excellent. The zoom lens is quieter in the SX610 than the other cameras. Thing I like on this camera is the manual flash release and the power cutoff. It seems the battery lasts longer on this model.

Camera was a college graduation present. Graduate wanted a point and shoot, go in your pocket or backpack style, no muss-no fuss, great photos with instant appearance on social media if wanted. Perfect choice for her without complicated menus and too too many choices for her busy life style. Great find. Other more sophisticated models were not for her.

So far, I have no complaints on the quality of the product or the pictures. My background: I am a beginner in the photography field with DSLR as my main camera. I had a "powershot" previously that finally gave out on me (I think I wore it out. I took it everywhere), that I loved. I forget the model number, but they don't make it anymore or I would've bought the same one again. So this one is my replacement for that one. I went with the "PowerShot " series again hoping to find that same quality. While the basic pictures and minimal zoom pictures are great, I find that the greater zoom pictures are not quite as good as my old camera. I realize that it is a digital zoom, but so was my old one. Since most of my greater zoom pictures are taken with my T3i, it isn't a deal breaker for me. I am still trying to find some consistency with the transfer connection to my phone. All in all, I like this camera. I've only had it for a few weeks, but no major issues. I'm keeping it.

The Powershot SX610 performs well. Very nice zoom. Good startup time and quick recovery between shots. WiFi setup was not very straightforward. The button for WiFi connect is too easy to hit, given that I don't use that function. Other menu functions are intuitive and work well. Battery life so far has been good.

After doing independent research, two Best Buy employees helped me decide on this camera. It's easy to use, and I'm pleased with the picture quality. It's also very light.

Bought this camera to take on our honeymoon. Didn't need anything fancy; just wanted to capture our trip. Was a perfect size, easy to use, and took great pictures. Nice filter options and easy to download pictures to your phone. Love the rechargeable battery; would suggest buying an extra so you always have a backup on hand.

I purchased this camera because I was tired of carrying around my DSLR to every event. I have a 2 year old so I wanted something that would be quick out of my pocket and snapping pictures. This camera does that. The burst functionality is nice too for the same reason - 2 year olds move a lot. Overall, very satisfied with my purchase.

Fun point and shoot camera. I bought it to replace a really old one that had pixel problems. Lots of fun features. Directions are easy to use. Battery charged up quickly. The right size to tuck into a pocket or purse. I like the fact that it's wireless. Worked very well with my smart phone.

I chose the Canon because I already had a larger model which I liked. this model is small and lightweight with a great zoom on it but one needs to hold the camera very steady as it will easily shift the focusing. Battery seems to be long lasting on one charge, which is great but I chose a second canon camera to have a spare battery for both.

Purchased this camera for my daughter for a trip to Alaska. The pictures and video turned out beautiful. Vibrant colors, clear video and so easy to use. Excellent zoom quality. The size of the camera is great for travel, small and lightweight.

This camera is amazing. Excellent quality. Extremely fast boot up. Push the button to turn it on and almost instantly snap HD pictures or take HD video. Never had a camera this fast. Love the HDMI output feature. Very easy to use. The only complaint is, the HDMI cable does not come in box. Took a bit to get the right cable and adapter. But is literally a plug and play feature. Hooked up to my dad's 55" tv and looked beautiful. And he has impaired vision. So was great that I was able to share my Vegas experience with him because he's never been there. So overall besides the cable not being included, was definitely well worth the money. Oh yeah, and small enough to fit in your pocket. So no need for a bag unless traveling. And fits perfectly on the tripod from my old camera. I believe the information about it says it doesn't fit a tripod, but clearly it does. OK that's all.

We liked our old Canon Powershot and the features are similar, so nothing new to learn. One new feature is linking it to your smart phone. We now have the ability to take group shots, including the photographer. You can view the shot, zoom in or out, and snap the picture...all from your phone. You can even view photos on the camera and save them on your smart phone. Neat!

Camera worked right out of the box. Easy to setup & use. High definition pictures were easy to produce and store on my PC through wireless configuration.

Bought this camera for my mother in law, who wanted to upgrade her ~6 yr old camera. Picked this one mainly for ease of use for her, but it does take great pics and the battery life is excellent as well.

A bit of background. I do photography professionally and was looking for a point and shoot to keep in the car for those moments where I did not want to break out my rig/did not have it with me. It's an OK camera, if you don't do a lot of motion/low light. The aperture, sensor, and auto ISO simply don't do well in the dark or with motion unless you hold it impressively still. Most of the pictures I have taken so far have been blurry, grainy or a combination of both. Being a long-time Canon user (I've owned a few powershots, a T1i, 60D, 5D.... you get the point), I was actually rather disappointed with the device. Considering the price tag, I would have expected better performance. My cell phone takes a better picture most of the time. I give this camera two stars. The zoom is pretty fantastic and when the camera gets the picture right, it looks awesome - rivaling some of my DSLR shots but, unfortunately, they are few in number. Considering everything, I acknowledge my bias considering that I am spoiled by better equipment (DLSR beats point and shoot any day). If I did this recreationally and was just looking for a camera that worked, this camera is decent, but I'd likely go for a more affordable one. Some of the cheaper point and shoots lose some image quality (megapixels) but have better stability, resulting in an overall better picture. Most of the cost for this camera comes from the quality and zoom. I'd trade them for an improved OS any day.
