I'm an electrical engineer might be more critical than the average reviewer. I have the original first generation of this camera SX700HS. This new camere is the 4th generation, a little larger. It takes great pictures but they changed the buttons which I don't like. The first generation buttons were bigger and had higher protection rims around the buttons. Holding the camera trying to press the video record I sometimes trigger menu button and miss the shot. This never happened in the first generation. The screen glass is about 20% larger (right and left side) than the display. They have the real estate to make the screen larger but they keep it at 3". I really love this camera the pictures with flash are something else their amazing I really love it I take my cámara every where and also is very easy to use !! Do not think to much just buy it !!!

This camera is good for a beginner. It’s very compact so you can take it with you wherever you go to capture the moment. It has a selfie mode in which the screen flips up so you can see yourself which is great. It’s not as easy to use for a beginner with all the different modes and settings, but a good video tutorial will help guide you through it. Overall, I recommend buying this for anyone wanting a compact and high quality digital camera.

I’ve had my camera for a few weeks now and let’s just say this is by far one of my best purchases yet. The digital quality is unmatched and i just love the ability to flip the screen and see myself. Also love how easy it is to connect to your phone and download your photos/videos.

I bought this camera ahead of a once-in-a-lifetime vacation. Back in the day, I used a film SLR, digital SLR, and eventually a Canon SX10IS. For personal reasons, I didn't want to bring something even that big along. I'm SO happy I didn't! The zoom on this baby is incredible! Quick video! So light, and intuitive to figure out without needing to refer to the quick start guide. And my pictures and videos were AWESOME! My dad, who fancies himself a semi-pro, and carried all of his big gear and lenses around, was a wee bit envious of how quickly I could get a shot just as good, if not BETTER than his! I think my zoom was better than anything he had with him! ;) *I loved*: size, weight, instructions on screen for various features, movable screen (to see better in glare situations, or for selfies!) *Meh*: wrist strap is so long that it's practically non-functional (I had to swap with another device I had for fear of dropping camera), screen location seems like it might get scratched and camera is hard to hold without getting your fingers all over it (my SX10IS has a screen that opens up + a viewfinder), wi-fi capabilities are quite cumbersome/slow and I haven't found a way to send just one photo instead of dumping them all (Admittedly, I have not yet paired my smartphone with the camera, so maybe that's different.) Overall, it was an important part of my wonderful vacation, and I'm looking forward to continuing to use it in my everyday creative life!

I am normally a DSLR user and have had several including my current a 7D mk 2. That being said, I bring it for photos of my daughter and her friends at the Friday night football games. She wants me to video the entire show and not her zoomed in so I wanted something with a wide zoom and 4k for the video. The video in this camera looks amazing. Under the dim high school lights you can see the difference between this camera and my 7D but it still looks good. The zoom on this camera is CRAZY! I do not use the digital zoom. This was my first game to use the camera tonight and what I did not like was where the record button is and how it feels. My other cameras have the button on the back where I can see it and it is easy to press. The record button is small and level with the camera. I had a hard time finding it without shaking the camera. I am attaching two images to show what the optical zoom can really do. I had to reduce the quality slightly so I could attach the images. The game clock in the 2nd image is at max optical zoom. That same game clock is in the middle of the zoomed out picture. I would not replace my DSLR for taking pictures on a regular basis but so far I am enjoying using the camera.

I’m a “Don’t leave home without it kind of guy when it comes to my camera. However, there are times that I just don’t want to be bogged down by lugging a DSLR with me. I purchased it so I could have a compact, yet, very good camera. This particular camera meets what I was wanting. It takes very good photos. I love the powerful telephoto strength. It’s more powerful than the telephoto lens on my more expensive DSLR. It’s almost an exceptional camera. There are only a couple of cons that I can think of right now. It’s a bit heavier than I anticipated, and It has more bells and whistles than I expected. I can live with both of them though. I don’t like the lack of a view finder…but I knew about that before I made my purchase. All in all…I’m impressed with the camera.

I had tried to split the difference between my cell phone camera and my cumbersome 'good' camera... i wanted soething i could lift with one hand, turn on, and take pix also with one hand. I got a sony that should have been ideal but the camera would not save off the raw data and even great pictures looked 'muddled' when I zoomed in. I tried for a few years to love it, hoped for sweet firmware update of my dreams, but nope. I went to Best Buy and picked the cameras up, tried them out, and ultimately settled on this one. I barely had the money for it - budgets being what they are, you know.... but at home, right out of the box, there was the familiar cannon button layout... and I fiddled a bit with the settings... and now - i'm taking pictures again!! To attach to documents, of my family, of my pets and other people's pets... i'm getting excited to start another 40-pic theme collage (20x40, print at walgreens, slip in a frame, and voila, decorate the walls with memories). 5 stars, really? Well, yeah. I decided there was no 'point' (har har) in taking off a star because it isn't quite trim enough to slip flat into my pocket. There's a wrist strap that I can shorten and use a carabiner to hang from a belt loop on those hands-free days. I can fit it in my pocket book. But most of all, MOST of all... 5 stars alone for pics not looking 'muddled' when I zoom in. I havent printed any blowups yet, but I will and I'll update the review after that if I can... I recommend going in to a store (when you are off quarrantine) and holding this in your hands and trying the controls out. I am so glad I did. There are 2 cameras I can upcycle now that i have this one to take their place!

I just started up my YouTube and went to find a new camera when I saw this 4K camera I knew instantly it would be perfect for my makeup tutorials! I love how the screen flips up for a selfie mode too! And that it has WiFi so I can easily send photos to my phone too! How ever when sending videos it takes forever to send to your phone that is the only down side but over all I am obsessed with this camera. Insta: @midnightrain777

I own a Canon mirrorless but wanted something even more portable. Biggest downside for removable lens cameras is that big zooms are physically large and very expensive. This camera's 40x zoom is incredible. It can even be boosted digitally. I'm now able to get wildlife shots I didn't have the reach for from my other camera. Still small enough to fit in a jeans pocket. I have heard others say the battery life on this isn't great but I have used it off and on all day on one battery with no issue. It takes pretty good video and with the zoom it's even more handy. The only two issues I have with this is you can't take RAW photos and that the 4k is kept hidden in it's own mode instead of just an option with the other video quality. This is a lot of camera for this price. I carry this with me everyday now. I hope Canon decides to keep up with point and shoots because they do have a place in the photography world.

DSLR has been my go to for a few years. But always lugging around is a pain. So heavy. Was searching for GX7 and seen reviews of this, finally came available and bought! And absolutely love it! Especially the ZOOM in such a compact camera! Pictures are my distance and how clear the pic came out in zoom mode. Does a great job for what I look for .

Camera is great for pictures, especially with the flash on. The video quality isn’t the best, but understandable since it’s not a vlogging camera. While recording it loses focus and it can be a little hard to refocus. Besides that the camera is portable and I’ve got lots of compliments on my pictures. Definitely recommend this if you’re thinking about purchasing it!

I have been using this camera about a month now. I have had no issues. Everything is still working as it did the day I bought it. Tons of neat features and functions!! takes nice video and great pictures!! It does have a neat function where you can bluetooth sync your phone and camera to use your phone as a remote. Just be warned it does seem to change the formatting on the card to do this. Once this is set up the card will no longer be able to read by pc. You will either have to use a cable to transfer from the camera to the pc or use the sync function to move the pictures to your phone then to a pc if desired. There is stuff that says you can sync it with your pc wirelessly though I have not found a working version of this I trusted. I added a picture taken with the camera. I had to cut the image size down due to file size limitations. At full resolution files are about 10-12MB each. This has been resized to 65% to meet file size requirements

Great camera, easy to use and download photos right to your phone using the app. I like the flash and zoom capabilities.

Awesome camera for anyone! Don’t know a ton about photography and this camera has worked great for me. Easy to learn and use, photos turn out well, and I love how it can connect to your phone to transfer photos over quickly and easily.

This camera is great for beginners and for bringing out to everything. I bring it with me everywhere and get the cutest photos. The camera has a Wi-Fi option so you can download the photos straight to your phone. However, I think if you wanted to use this camera for vlogging, I would recommend choosing something else because I feel that this camera is best for photos. The zoom is outstanding, and I can’t believe how close I can get to certain things.

really great camera!!! i took this camera when i saw luke hemmings and the photo can speak for itself!!! i love it ever so much and it really blew me away with the quality for the photos and videos!! plus the zoom is out of this world!! if you cant get the g7x i would highly recommend getting this one !!! easy to take anywhere with you and can get into venues because its a point and shoot!!! best purchase!!!!

I bought this camera for my girlfriend and she is absolutely in love with it. The pictures are so crisp, it’s very easy to work with, and the camera is just beautiful in general. You can also upload pictures just by WiFi and an app.

This camera is absolutely amazing for anyone searching for a lightweight and useful camera. The pop up screen makes it SO much better! It's a must have for me, I love to take selfies and this is just the perfect camera. The buttons are super soft, the screen is HD, the pictures have an excellent quality, and the camera as a whole is not heavy at all! It's kind of a pocket camera, it doesn't take much room and it's super easy to carry everywhere. Also, transferring the pics to ur smartphone is SUPER easy, one click, and its done!
