Great for Teens
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my teenage daughter, it's perfect for her and she loves the selfie option on the camera. We've only had it for a short while, but so far it has been great.

Overall video quality is good, audio is not.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great exposure and for the price it’s a good option if you’re just looking for a starter camera to mess around with. However, I would recommend getting a wireless lavalier microphone because the built in microphone is not good in a semi noisy environment.

I charged it fully and didn't use it and it ended up being dead when I wanted to use it weeks later. So it don't hold up a charge and I wish I could return it because I would. its light weight and doesn't bring attention is a plus i guess.

Compact & Innovative designed 4K camera
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Canon took a bold step with the PowerShot V10, building it from the ground up, and the results are evident in its clever design and standout features. In this review, we'll delve into the camera's physical attributes, handling, controls, power, connectivity, and overall performance. Design and Build: Canon's strategic decision to create the V10 from scratch pays off in its compact design, measuring around 3.5 by 2.5 by 1.4 inches and weighing 7.4 ounces. The vertical orientation and integrated kickstand enhance its adaptability, providing comfortable handheld recording and eliminating the need for a tripod in tabletop scenarios. The V10 is offered in two styles, with a gray plastic body and a choice between a matte black or silver top plate and I choose the one in matter black color. Lens and Imaging: Equipped with a 1-inch image sensor and a wide 6.6mm F2.8 lens, the V10 delivers impressive image quality. The 2-inch touchscreen, while on the smaller side, supports touch input and flips over the top plate for easy self-monitoring. The 2K 30FPS footage is sharp and clear, complemented by effective digital stabilization. However, the V10 lacks weather protection, making it less suitable for all-weather vlogging compared to alternatives like the GoPro cameras. Controls and Handling: The V10 employs a combination of physical buttons and a touch-based interface for controls. The record button, conveniently placed beneath the lens, allows easy access for starting and stopping recording, even when recording oneself. The camera's auto modes support EV adjustment and in-camera color filters, but some users may find the lack of certain beginner-friendly features, such as a dedicated focus mode for product reviews, a drawback. Power and Connectivity: Powered by a non-removable battery, the V10's battery life is around 50 minutes of 4K/30 recording, which may be limiting for extended use. The USB-C port serves for both power and connectivity, allowing offloading media and connecting the camera to a computer as a webcam. The V10's connectivity options include Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, enabling wireless transfers, remote control, and live streaming to various platforms through the Canon CameraConnect app. Pros: Vertical design with an integrated kickstand Crisp, wide-angle lens Effective digital stabilization Cons: Small LCD screen Limited internal battery life Occasional autofocus flutter Overall, the canon powerShot V10 impresses with its innovative design, crisp imaging, and 4K video capabilities. While it may have some limitations, such as a relatively short battery life, the V10 is a compelling choice for vloggers and content creators seeking a compact and user-friendly camera for on-the-go recording.

A Solid Compact Camera Designed For Vlogging
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was quite excited to receive Canon's Powershot V10 to evaluate and review. It arrived in a nice compact box well built for shipping. My initial reaction upon opening and unboxing the camera was wow! It is so small and compact, lightweight yet well built - I can't wait to try it out. While the camera was charging using a USB-C cord, I downloaded the Powershot V10 application for my iPhone and set it up for connection via Bluetooth. The camera comes with a built in stand and a reversible screen to take movies or photos (20mb + quality) of selfies or of things in front of you. The shutter button is located on the front of the camera as the camera is designed with vlogging in mind. The shutter location makes it somewhat awkward to take phots/videos of events/images in front of you and I found my fingers were in the way on several of the initial shots I took. The Canon Powershot V10 is a very compact but quite capable camera. It has many of the settings and options found in many larger cameras. I was very impressed with the depth of the menus and the options afforded in the camera. The color of the images taken by the camera was acceptable however there is no flash on the camera to ligthen things up in darker situations. The camera has two unobtrusive top mounted speakers which seem to minimize wind noise when shooting videos. the camera comes with a lanyard, USB-C cord, a quick start manual (a full user manual can be downloaded on Canon's website), and warranty information. The reversible touch screen makes it easy to input changes to the settings for both videos and photos. A micro SD card is required; the camrea does not come with one.

Well....
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had the opportunity to test out the Canon V10 vlogging camera for several days now, and I’m finding it difficult to figure out how to approach this review. I absolutely love the basic guiding concept and design of the V10, while at the same time finding myself wondering if there was enough field testing done before sending it to market. The V10 is compact and fits easily into my hand. However, it feels like I need to grip it tightly to keep it from sliding out of my hand. One of the first things I did was to attach the included lanyard to the V10 to prevent it from crashing to the ground in case it actually did slide out of my hand. As I initially studied the layout of the camera, I noticed Canon created the V10 with a very friendly user experience in mind, that is, there aren’t a boatload of buttons and wheels to navigate through. The front of the camera has one button, the video record button. I really like that. Since most of the shooting done with the V10 will probably be video shots, the button makes it super simple to pick up the V10 and not only start a shot but stop it as well. The back of the camera has four buttons and a center “wheel” button that provides several functions as well. Like most vlog cameras, the V10 has a ¼” mounting socket for a tripod or gimbal. You can read about all the specs and features above, so I don’t want to weigh this review down with a lot of stuff you have probably already read. So, let me get to the heart of this review… how does the V10 perform? Although it does boast of some great features, such as the 1” CMOS processor, and the rather high-resolution video/photo capabilities, as well as the many onboard filters, there are many distractions that stand in the way of the Canon V10 being a standout addition to the vlogging market lineup of cameras. Let me start with the view screen. The view screen is about what you will find on a lot of other vlogging cameras. It isn’t huge, but it isn’t overly small. But it only moves in one direction, flipping up or down. This would be okay if the only types of shots you take are forward facing shots, but sometimes I like to point my camera in other directions while using the viewfinder to make sure the shot is right. This limits the abilities of the V10 from the very start. I noticed that on many shots using the viewfinder in the “home” position, the top of my finger was visible. There isn’t really much to hold onto unless you are using a gimbal, and then the visible finger issue would be resolved, but for quick shots on the go, a gimbal isn’t always readily available. The V10 boasts of its autofocus capabilities. And to be sure, for the most part it works great. I did find however that in low-light conditions shooting video, the autofocus function was abysmal, and produced unusable footage due to blurring. The blurring would clear up after a second or two, but if there is any movement, it blurs again. To its credit though, during good lighting, the autofocus worked extremely well. But then again, this is a point and shoot camera, so a manual focus option is pretty much out of the question. The V10 offers 14 different onboard filters. These are really pretty much the same types of filters you will find on most cell phone cameras. Accessing the filters is quite simple using the “Q” button in the bottom right corner. One thing I like about using any of these filters is that the same filter will be on should you turn off the camera and then turn it back on later. Hand in hand with the filters is the ability to change the ISO settings for both standard and 4K. This ability can add a lot of flavor and texture to many shooting conditions. When it is all said and done, the V10 is a great camera for a beginning vlogger, or as a camera to use in a pinch. It can’t really stand toe-to-toe with many of the other cameras out there in this price range, and actually, for the price point of the V10, there are cameras out there that might be a better option for a more experienced vlogger. The photo/video quality of the Canon V10 is great under the right conditions, but when taxed, the quality tends to fall off. I have to confess my disappointment when comparing the V10 to the quality and design of many other amazing and outstanding Canon products that I have owned and still own. There is the feeling they rushed this through, and sadly it shows in several areas. Although I have given the V10 a three-star rating, I would still highly recommend it to anyone who is breaking into the world of vlogging. It’s a great beginner’s vlog camera, and will make a great steppingstone for those who ultimately decide to take their vlogging skills to the next level.

Perfect vlogging camera with areas for improvement
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Canon Powershot V10 is a vlogging camera that can record videos in 4K resolution and also it can be used as a still camera too. If you are content creator then this camera will be really useful to you. So is this camera only for the content creators? No absolutely not. This is for anyone who uses the cameras like Go pro for adventure minus the waterproofing part. Please don't use this camera like a Go pro as it is not Water proof. But otherwise in terms of portability, sleekness, features, light weight this camera is a winner. Instead of carrying bulky cameras while going on hiking or trekking or picnic, this camera will in fact surprise with the amount of features it brings in to the table. Now lets deep dive into some of the pros and cons of this model. Package contents: 1. Powershot V10 camera 2. USB C to USB C cable 3. Camera strap Micro SD (memory) card is not included Pros: 1. Sleek, compact, lightweight - Being a vlogging camera, the first and foremost ask of the content creators will be about its size and weight. This camera is really small, sleek, compact and lightweight. Its easy to hold it in our hands and it is incredibly easy to shoot the videos or take pictures. I was really surprised by its size but still being powerful as any DSLR camera in the market. Yes you read it correct. Despite being so sleek it has many of the features that any DSLR camera brings in to the table. This camera is about the same size as smart phone in terms of dimensions and weight. Dimension in inches - 3.5*2.5*1.4 inches Weight - 7.4 oz (210 gms or 0.46 lbs) 2. Vertical design with kickstand - The Camera screen has a vertical orientation which makes it comfortable for handheld recording. With the Kickstand it is easy to place the camera any surface thereby it eschews the need for a tripod. The stand helps the camera to lean forward or backward with 30 degree angle. So whether we place the camera in the table to look up to self record or looking down to record the cooking videos or videos of any product or to even hold the camera by the handle upside down the camera reorients the video for us. I mainly use this camera to record the cooking videos for my wife's Youtube channel. I use this camera as a secondary camera to focus the food from the sides. As my primary camera is able to record the video in 4K I wanted another 4K camera that is less expensive and this camera really meets all my needs. 3. Features - a. 4K video recording b. 20 MP BSI 1" CMOS sensor - With the 1" sensor, we no longer need to worry about the low light conditions and it keeps our face really lit. c. High quality Stereo microphones - There are 2 large stereo microphones and a third microphone to help cancel unwanted sounds. d. Fixed 19 mm (35 mm equivalent) wide angle lens - With the wide angle we don't have to stretch our arms when recording ourselves e. Vertical mode - Easy to record videos for Tiktok or Youtube shorts in vertical orientation. f. Auto-focus/Face detection - Built in Auto focus or Face detection is really helpful to keep our face in focus. g. Skin tones/Filters h. Live streaming i. Effective Digital stabilization - 4. One button recording - Record button is easy to identify by touch. It sits directly below the lens which makes it easy to start and stop the clips either from behind the camera when we are shooting other subjects or when recording ourselves. 5. Camera boot time - It hardly even takes 1 second to boot. That is pretty quick. I was impressed at the speed at which the camera jumps into action ready to record instantaneously. I would say this is one of the best features this camera delivers. 6. Plug and play Webcam support - Using the USB C, we can also use this camera as a webcam for the video chat using Zoom or Google Meet or any other apps without the need to install any additional drivers. 7. File transfer using USB C - It is easy to transfer the photos directly by connecting the camera to the computer using the USB C cable instead of looking for an adapter for the memory card. 8. Support for external mic 9. Connectivity - It is possible to connect the camera using micro HDMI port or USB C or Bluetooth or even Wifi and also has a 3.5 mm Microphone port. V10 pairs via Bluetooth and Wifi to the Canon CameraConnect app (Available for Android and iOS) which supports wireless transfers, remote control and even live streaming to Youtube or Facebook or even a custom URL. Wireless file transfer is a little slow but with the USB-C we can transfer the videos faster. Cons: 1. Small LCD screen - 2 inches touchscreen display is sometimes too small to notice and correct some of the minute details in the videos or photos. A 3 inch screen would have been great. 2. Mediocre Internal battery - Since the camera comes with an internal battery it is not replaceable unlike the DSLR cameras. Also the battery life is just average. Shooting 4K videos at 30 fps, the battery lasts between 45 min to an hour maximum. Canon could have slightly increased the battery size to support at least more than an hour of recording. But one good thing is that since the battery is relatively smaller, with a fast charger its possible to charge from empty to full battery in about 30 minutes. 3. No Durability or weather protection - Unlike the Go Pro this camera does not provide any weather or water protection. If anyone wants to use this camera for adventure or water sports this camera may not be the best fit. This is not a big deal for me. 4. No lens cap - Canon should seriously consider providing a Lens cap. I feel if i don't use the stand and try to lie down the camera like a mobile phone, the lens will get dirty or may even get some scratches. Lens cap will hardly cost any money and i am not sure why Canon did not provide the lens cap. Also we cannot face the camera on the other side as we have the touchscreen which cannot be flipped unlike the DSLR cameras and there are chances the screen will get some scratches. 5. Background defocus unavailable - Unlike some competitor vlog cameras, the automatic Background defocus is unavailable in auto mode. This would have been a great addition if Canon had included it.

Worth for Price - You will not disappoint
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the fast-paced world of vlogging and content creation, having a reliable and user-friendly camera is crucial. Canon has always been a trusted name in the imaging industry, and with the Canon PowerShot V10, they have once again delivered a powerful tool tailored for the needs of content creators. While the camera still supports the use of a selfie stick for those dynamic shots, having the option to use the built-in stand adds a layer of convenience that enhances the overall user experience. 3. Auto Focus and Image Stabilization: Vlogging often involves moving around, capturing various angles, and maintaining focus on the subject. The Canon PowerShot V10 excels in this regard with its advanced Auto Focus and Image Stabilization features. The camera can automatically detect faces and adjust the focus accordingly, ensuring that your videos are consistently sharp and professional-looking. Image Stabilization is a game-changer, especially for vloggers who are shooting on the go. Whether you're walking, running, or capturing footage in less-than-ideal conditions, the PowerShot V10's Image Stabilization ensures that your videos are smooth and free from the jitters that can often plague handheld footage. 4. Superior Sound Quality: Audio quality is a critical aspect of vlogging, and the Canon PowerShot V10 doesn't disappoint. Recognizing the importance of clear and crisp audio, this camera is equipped with features that reduce background noise disturbances in video recordings. This is particularly advantageous when vlogging in busy or noisy environments, ensuring that your audience can focus on your message without distractions. 5. Seamless Integration with Canon App: The integration of the Canon PowerShot V10 with the Canon app is a standout feature that enhances the overall user experience. The camera seamlessly syncs with the Canon app, allowing you to transfer photos and videos instantly to your mobile device. Beyond simple file transfer, the app provides a range of settings and controls that you can adjust remotely, giving you greater creative control over your content. 8. Wide-Angle Lens and Digital Zoom: The inclusion of a wide-angle lens in the Canon PowerShot V10 is a boon for vloggers who need to capture a broader field of view. Whether you're shooting in tight spaces or want to include more background in your shots, the wide-angle capability ensures that you can capture more in each frame. Additionally, the digital zoom feature adds another layer of versatility, allowing you to get closer to the action without compromising on image quality. This is particularly useful for vloggers who may need to capture details from a distance. Even though Image stabilization is good, it needs more improvement, some vloggers keep moving like travelers loggers may face image stabilization problems, but for the price this one is worth buy for sure. Conclusion: In conclusion, the Canon PowerShot V10 is a compact powerhouse designed with the needs of vloggers and content creators in mind. Its user-friendly design, advanced features like Auto Focus and Image Stabilization, superior sound quality, and seamless connectivity options make it a reliable tool for capturing high-quality content on the go.
